  1. Update from Jackson on Dolan's contract: there's no update. He ain't signing. Get rid. He's flattered to deceive for too long.
  2. I'm not sure how either have shown to be yes men?
  3. I take your point but surely the gap is less for a manager than for players? I don't know, I'm spitballing. Ultimately I think that succession of this kind is at least joined up thinking from the FA and hopefully avoids the kind of scattergun approach that saw us lurch from McClaren to Capello to Hodgson to Allardyce (lol). I don't have an opinion either way on whether Carsley is the right man for the job but I'm behind giving him the opportunity to show what he can do. Yesterday wasn't his finest hour, that's for sure.
  4. Why are you against a succession plan being in place? Surely someone who won a major tournament in the England youth set up deserves a crack at the senior role? Why does it work that way for players and not managers?
  5. Yes and no - they're ultimately irrelevant, aside from the fact they're one of the few times a manager - especially one auditioning for the job - can display how he wants the team to operate. Regarding your second point, that's how most industries work, no? Carsley probably wouldn't be near the job if he wasn't already an FA employee, but he is. The FA get a lot of things wrong but looking to create a succession plan isn't one of them. I don't think he should automatically get the job, though.
  6. The midfielder soup yesterday was a mess. To me though it doesn't mean he shouldn't get the job, in the same way the couple of wins mean he should. Someone called him a Southgate clone earlier which I find hilarious - that couldn't have been further from a Southgate team or display. Interested to see where he goes from here. I'd suggest playing a striker.
  7. It's funny, almost every post I've seen has had the words "good start" in them, yet there as some being cast as doom merchants. The last 3 and a bit games have been dire, counterbalanced by that perfect home record. As others have said, Eustace seems to have hit a wall, with selection and tactics recently leaving plenty to be desired. I'd absolutely take 15 points from the next 9 games. The thing is, we won't be playing the same teams and we've definitely had a soft start. I don't want to hear "there's no easy games", because some are demonstrably harder than others. I'm pleased with where we are but have genuine concerns about the coach and squad.
  8. I'm at a loss. Two dreadful performances from a player who offers very, very little. He's not a winger, he's not a CAM and he's not been very good for the majority of this season. Has to be benched.
  9. Dolan is a liability. I'm sick of him.
  10. 3 capable right backs and we're playing our best CB there after he got roasted last game. Nice work Eustace.
  11. You're probably right, and yeah, Brittain's positional sense can be a bit lacklustre. I just feel against out and out wingers you're better off playing a natural full back. Preferably one with some bite. I'd be playing JRC... if he's fit enough.
  12. Aye I really like Duru. It's such a shame we put in that pitiful performance against Blackpool as I think he would be starting league cup games against lower league teams. I'd have him as an attacking substitution at the moment - a way to change things if we're chasing a game. Not sure if he's quite ready for league starts.
  13. Brittain is now fit and all three are RBs by trade. Carter was exposed against Coventry. Plymouth also have a quick frontline. I don't want to see him playing RB.
  14. No brainer to drop Dolan for me. I don't know who said it or in which thread but mistakes and/or poor performances of that degree have to have consequences, otherwise you're accepting that level of performance as adequate. Dolan is passable at 10 when breaking at speed but during a spell of possession he's one of the last midfielders/attackers we have that I would want in the pocket. It has to be Cantwell in the middle.
  15. I'd just like to see a RB played at RB. We have Britain, JRC and Duru. You could make a case for any of the three. Just not Carter, please.
  16. What on earth about JRC is it that makes you think he can't play as a wide, attacking full back? It's so clear he gets lost higher up the pitch. He's a right back who has occasionally been used elsewhere, he's not a midfielder of any kind.
  17. Potentially. The point being we allowed a team with such low confidence to boss the game. I couldn't believe what I was seeing at times.
  18. Thinking about it, there's probably no better time to drop Pears, among a slew of other changes after a shit all round performance. Saves the focus being solely on him. Still not sure if Eustace will bite the bullet, though.
  19. Yeah I missed the first five minutes putting the little one down sadly. Wish he'd cried and spared me the footy tbh.
  20. Toth JRC Carter Hyam Pixie Travis Tronstad ACD Cantwell Sigurdsson Gueye JRC isn't a wide forward, he's a right back. Get him back where he's played his best football. I want to see some quality on the ball, hence Cantwell and Sigurdsson and for sure it's time for Gueye to get a chance. Dolan, Hedges, Pears nd a few others need to be shown last night isn't acceptable, the only ones who start as re those we can't replace.
  21. Addressing last night, it's probably because he ran two thirds of the pitch in the wrong direction and played an awful pass to a technically poor center back against a team employing a high press with quick forwards. Just after half time. While we were a goal down. Probably.
  22. "at least our shit goalkeeper returned to form and shipped another soft goal"
  23. I actually don't think it's that surprising. We've not been incredible, despite results. The squad got the cheapest revamp possible and we've surprised a couple of teams. This has been coming, it's about how Eustace adapts to no longer being the form side. Plymouth will not be scared.
