  1. This is so shit. We wouldn't have needed to be at our best to beat this lot. They've been sloppy and wasteful. We've just been woeful. Every single player should hang their head. I don't understand Eustace's thought process at all, either pre game or during.
  2. Is Eustace watching? We're on the fucking ropes. Do something.
  3. Just awful. Can someone please explain to me why we're lumping balls up to Yuki against two big lumps. Awful passing across the pitch. I'm not sure what the answer is but I think we need another head in midfield.
  4. It's ok, if we don't get the win it'll be because we didn't have his industry in the team.
  5. You can say he's not been ineffective, but his goal and assist contributions have always been on the low side (and continue to be) and I don't think he offers a huge amount outside of that aside from being fairly industrious. Absolutely our league position indicates we're getting plenty right. At the same time a couple of underwhelming performances suggest there's room for improvement. I'd rather see Sigurdsson or ACD play there for a game. I don't think Coventry away is an overly intimidating atmosphere and ACD seems to be brimming with confidence anyway. Football fans love to see their team win, and when discussing how best to do so can be surly when their comments are deemed to be over the top. You're right, he may well rest Hedges. Either way we've got options and decent form. I'm starting to trust Eustace more and more to make the right call.
  6. One of the least effective, absolutely. Pixie and Dolan are up there, too. Dolan has surprised me over the last couple of games, though. You've only named two that could be argued to have been less effective and I would argue one of them. I'm fine with being disagreed with, we're discussing football, it happens. I took objection to your tone. It seems that now we've performed better than most would have hoped for we should accept our lot and not look to make improvements inthe first team? I think we can do better than the "ever present Hedges". I don't think he's shit or a bad person, I just think he's one of the poorer players to have started consistently this year. I'm delighted that people agree with you. Thumbs up.
  7. Always enjoyable when someone strides in to a good natured debate about the players in our squad with a holier-than-thou scolding. Give over. Hedges is clearly one of the least effective first team players. No-one is casting him as a villain.
  8. What I really enjoyed about the second half was how we killed their spirit, and the game. The silly mistake at the back aside, they knew once the first went in the game was over. We managed the game well and that's not something we've been able to say often.
  9. I fail to see what Hedges has offered so far. He's fairly diligent I guess but he's not an athlete, he's not a technician or a goal threat. I'd like to see Cantwell unleashed - is he ready for 60 mins yet? Dolan and Weimann alongside him behind Guaye is what I'd go for and would like to see. As others have said everyone behind the top 4 pick themselves.
  10. Hedges dived for me. Right call.
  11. Looking forward to people looking forward to our collapse, is it?
  12. Regarding playing against ten men, it's not black and white. Absolutely a ten man team gets clarity of the task at hand, the benefit of a siege mentality and potential perceived injustice of the decision. But, you would expect a backs to the wall, desperate defensive effort and that's not what happened. We were shit, to put it bluntly, so yes, I'm disappointed, despite the above.
  13. Granted he wasn't flying past defenders but I thought he picked the ball up and drove forward well a couple of times. He would have been a far better option than Hedges for the long balls down the channels during the first half yesterday, that's for sure.
  14. I'd be incredibly surprised if Eustace exposed our key asset before he was 100% ready. I thought ACD showed a good turn of pace and ball control. We're crying out for both of these, he starts for me.
  15. He shouldn't be playing as a wife midfielder, drifting in or no.
  16. Hedges, Dolan, Baker and Yuki were all really poor. Can't blame Yuki as he was against two meaty center halves and to an extent Baker as he was played out of position again. Dolan and Hedges did what they always do, which isn't enough.
  17. Pears Britain Carter Hyam Pixie Trav Sondre Cozier-Duberry Weimann Hedges Guaye Is what I'd like to see, but doubt it.
  18. First half was abysmal. Zero control over the game and god knows why the tactic was to hit it long to Yuki. The long balls down the channels to Baker and Hedges who are both slow as fuck were inaccurate for 45 mins, too. Credit to PNE for the second half, made us look the team with a man down, honestly. Guaye starts for me. Gives us a platform to get into games. Yuki to come on when their defence has been softened up. Baker is not a wide midfielder. Dolan isn't the answer, we all know that. Hedges is passable but shouldn't be starting. The sooner the lad from Brighton and Cantwell are up to speed the better, our front 4 is massively unbalanced at the moment. Having said that, good resilience, another point and unbeaten, so I'm relatively happy. Points dropped, though.
  19. dreadful stuff so far. the passing is very poor and the obvious out ball is hedges who doesn't have the pace for the balls we're knocking over the top for him
  20. Cantwell doesn't look close to starting to me. At least 2 more sub appearances before he's starting games. He'll play the same line up I'd imagine, potentially swapping Mak in for Ohashi.
  21. Didn't he say he didn't know?
  22. On the Eustace chat, I think it's pretty clear what @roversfan99 is saying; he isn't sure yet. Which is fine, because it's been what, 20 league games? People are welcome to nail their colours to the mast and say they think JE is the man for the job, that's fine. It's equally OK to admit to not being sure yet. Sometimes it's OK not to have a cast iron opinion on a topic.
