Whether he’s right on this, who knows, but it’s hardly beyond the realms of possibility that a bloke banging in the goals wanted a pay rise and also a release clause in order for Rovers to be able to protect an asset. This is a club, after all, that gave away a prodigious talent for half the price Leeds have just sold one for.

Siggy is a clever footballer and a good finisher, it’s just last season was a bit much for him physically.

Agree with this. The contempt with which the fans are held by both the Owners and Board is frankly staggering. These people don’t deserve to have any association with BRFC.

Last season will have no bearing on this season. There’s no guarantee Sammie would score anywhere near 30 goals even if he stayed. I expect this season to be a grind with Eustace having a completely different approach to JDT. He showed last season that he could set up a defence. If we sign the 4 or 5 quality players JE wants I’m hopeful of a half-decent season.
