  1. I think that was him diplomatically telling us to fuck off.
  2. I thought Rudy was following Waggott round as he wanted to get into the admin/director/CEO side of football. I’d be amazed if he was Our new DoF.
  3. It’s a strange one really. The first 6 months of JDTs reign we got quite a few 1-0 wins at home because we’d nick a goal then sit deep. It was always odd to hear he didn’t have a Plan B when he could clearly set the team up to defend well. For the next 12 months he went to his Plan A which was open attacking football. We were 6th in Nov/Dec time then it fell apart due to injuries/JDT stubbornness/player unhappiness. Eustace has come in and reverted to JDTs Plan B. He’s good at setting up the defensive side but it’s clear he can’t hold a candle to JDT in regard to playing good football and playing through teams. He was also seen as a counterattacking manager at Brum so I doubt he’s going to come in and play expansive sexy football. But as Howard Kendall knew you build a successful team on a solid defence. If we can get a few attackers in with pace in the summer we could do ok next season. I don’t think Eustace is as eusless as he’s being made out to be, but time will tell…
  4. I’d imagine he was fairly embarrassed having to return to Orlando after saying his goodbyes to them. If he has an equivalent offer from elsewhere then you’d think he’d take it.
  5. Imagine there’s no countries, it isn’t hard to do nothing to kill or die for and no Euros too🎵
  6. I don’t blame him for not being keen on signing. The administrators at our club are an embarrassment.
  7. He looks really good going forward, quick and an excellent crosser of a ball. Plays like an old fashioned winger. If we play wing backs next season he could be a real asset. Not sure he’s good enough defensively to play as a full back in a back 4.
  8. Edmondson has signed a long term deal. Looked a quality player against Harrogate.
  9. I’m saying it might be effective in the future, not that it has been effective thus far.
  10. That was the problem. No point signing 7 squad fillers who don’t improve the first team.
  11. By having better forwards than we’ve got now. Szmodics was a 1 man band last season. I think one of the players said that Eustace puts a lot of emphasis on keeping clean sheets. We won’t need to score many to get results. It won’t be pretty under Eustace if the last few months are anything to go by, but it might be effective.
  12. That’s just a re-hash of his end of season interview. I wouldn’t read much into his comment. He’s just backing the current players he’s got and saying only a few areas need improving. He’s probably right. A GK, LB, CB, 3 x attackers would be a reasonable summer as long as those players are first team quality and not like some of the shite we signed last summer. Eustace has showed he can set the team up to keep clean sheets. If he can get a few quality attackers I’d be fairly confident of having a team that can get results. The question is whether he’ll get the players he wants.
  13. News on season tickets expected this week according to local rag
  14. I hadn’t realised until reading the local paper that Eustace was a Waggott appointment rather than a Broughton one.
  15. The IS sacking has finally been acknowledged on the official site
  16. Rovers are activating Gally’s 12 month extension according to Teamtalk, and also discussing a new longer term deal
  17. Obviously. But we should have got a lot more than we sold him for.
  18. Im not sure what you’re saying ‘really’ to? I just meant we’d likely sell him if, as suggested, he won’t sign another contract. That’s the model after all. I think he’s a good player personally but if the manager doesn’t rate him then it’s his prerogative to sell him.
  19. 15% is the final insult! So another £6m ish on top of the original £18. That’s £24m received for a player apparently worth £60m a mere 6 months after we sold him
  20. We sold him on the cheap to pay the bills. The end.
  21. A ‘12 club option extension’ sounds complicated.
  22. Shearer, on a recent-ish podcast, spoke about Wharton. Shearer said he’d been visiting Brockhall just after AW was sold and that ‘everyone’ at Rovers i.e. the people who agreed his sale, knew that AW had been sold on the cheap ‘for obvious reasons’.
