It’s always ‘Jam tomorrow’, and has been for over a decade. So on to a summer of broken promises….again. Can’t wait. It’s reassuring to see Dismal is on-message though. -

It really isn’t. If there’s no break clause Rovers will have to pay up his contract if they sack him. The tight fuckers won’t do that unless there’s no other option. So we might be stuck with him until 2028, just in time to make a push for the L2 play offs. -

Was Valerie Dismal a Rudy hire? Should we be grateful? We really are run by utter cnuts. -

Silly comparison. JDT has us GD from the play offs. This new fella is just plain shite -

So nothing to do with ‘mentality’ then. We were 5th under Eustace with a below average squad in terms of outlay and wage structure. He was an excellent manager. We lost key players and lost form. We’re now much worse under, it seems, a really poor manager. So pretty much all about the manager and shit investment, not spurious notions of ‘shot mentality’. -

I haven’t read his comments so no idea if he’s writing this season off, but if he is it’s an excuse for not being good enough. He was in a fantastic position to go for the play offs and he’s already been found wanting. -

As said in my original post, you don’t have a successful season (relatively speaking) if the ‘mentality is shot’, whatever that means. They now look a disorganised rabble. That’s not a mentality thing, that’s a shit manager thing. And results nosediving since Travis got injured isn’t a mentality thing either, which you’ve just acknowledged. Genuinely no idea what you’re arguing. -

You’re making assumptions and stating them as fact. All we know is there wasn’t ‘significant investment’. You have no idea the players mentality of the players will be ‘shot to pieces’ as a result. We won 2 out of 3 under Lowe. Mentality was fine then. This manager is shite. Results are shite. ‘Mentality’ is a meme. -

Sure, if you think Forshaw has been a regular and Tronstad and Travis haven’t been excellent all season. Sanderson has played about twice. You’re referencing squad players to make a point about the first team. Anyway, the discussion was about the mentality of the players, not squad depth. We all know the issues there, and that was the main reason for the Jan slump under both Eustace and JDT. As soon as a key player or two is injured it goes down hill rapidly. It’s accelerating now because the new manager is shite. We were 5th when Eustace left. We were GD from the play offs after a full season under JDT. The mentality of the players is evidently fine. -

The players aren’t the issue. Apart from a disastrous 2 month spell under JDT, when relationships crumbled, these players have consistently batted above their average for a few seasons. The issue is that the new manager is utter wank. -

Rovers performances in the last 3 games suggest that is a standard Valerie Dismal pre-match team talk.
