Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
Tomphil2 replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Somebody British with some championship fire fighting experience would be my guess. Of course it would still need to be someone out of work and cheap and agreeable to the restrictions in budget. -

Not a Waggot fan either but i'd be more comfortable with him running it on his own rather than Suhail and Gestede. We wouldn't go anywhere but i think we'd have a better chance of staying in this league with peanuts for a budget. These lot have put the pursuit of buy cheap, play, then sell as number 1 priority when instead it should always be look at top ten bare minimum standard. -

There's not much difference really i doubt Mowbray could do anything more with what's now at the club. Conversely would he have done any better at Barnsley, Watford or WBA with what Ismael had ? Maybe but i'm not convinced. -

The final say as in he has to pick from the list given or the players recommended to him by the scouting dept. And when they are cheap wage, low fee from relegated foreign second tier teams in the main the choice isn't really going to make a lot of difference. Oh one is 6' plus and the other is 5'9 but a bit quicker, that kind of thing. -

Recent share allotment at companies house, 3.9 million. Doubt it'll make any difference in January though. -

That's why in many ways Ismael is the new Mowbray for them. Bang average, will go along with the club line whether he agrees with it or likes it or not because he knows when things aren't going well he won't get sacked. Tony was happy to plod, Val is happy to stay in one place after 12 clubs in 12 years or whatever it is. So despite what he says in public or what his demeanor is he'll unlikely be saying much behind the scenes. -

It's a sign of the times and state of the club for any gaffer. Remember TM saying players are young ambitious, short career, have families and mortgages so if we can't give them what they want he's not standing in the way of them seeking it elsewhere. He just had a more subtle way of explaining it whereas now they are portrayed as greedy, wanting to live nearer to somewhere or just wanting to leave for no apparent reason. -

Pretty much all the rumours stated it was him and Suhail power struggling with Waggot. Rather odd five mins after a lad has supposedly just turned up to shadow him around and learn his job. -

One with an eye on his seat whose real intentions were to stab him in the back first opportunity and get rid. -

Get the real bums on seats figures and make sure they find their way to the farmhouse in Pune. Because they probably aren't so at least we'd know they are aware what's really happening here. -

As time goes on it's obvious he was installed in here by someone for some purpose other than work experience. We've been gaslit yet again by this bunch of frauds and liars. -
I certainly think he's having an influence as the continued involvment of some despite them contributing nothing or even contributing to losing goals is astounding for any manager. They are getting Championship mins though and upping their stats and that counts towards making them more attractive to farm back out to foreign leagues. And agents commission.

Tomphil2 replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Yes so he needs an offer from some Polish or Saudi club so he can afford to buy out his contract. Can't see it though as despite the odd strop i think he's happy here it's easy money really because he has a bucket full of excuses and we all know we are in the shit anyway. What happens is nothing more than expected so he can just shrug his shoulders and see out his contract. -

Because they'll just want to ship out the higher earners and tell him to keep 'developing'the others. -

Given the contract he is on it would probably be cheaper to get him a couple of decent players in Jan than sack him and hire another from the same bin. They'll do neither. -
Filling the club with his dross after helping force out others, sneering at fans who could see the car crash coming a mile off, getting paid handsomely in a position NO other championship club would give him. Balls to him he deserves holding partly accountable at least.

A great little tactic to head off the sack maybe. If in the unlikely event they did remove him it certainly wouldn't be until after the window. -

And Hemmings clan have issued another 5 million to pay their bills which might suggest they'll invest in Jan. -

They know that's why they virtually ignore it now and the feeling is probably mutual. However they just don't feel it and that's the problem. -

A rotten second half, raft of subs then concede late for the god knows how many times this season. This squad isn't good enough and combined with this guys terrible in game management time and again, not helped by clowns like Pears = relegation. It's absolutely inevitable this season and everyone in upper office and ownership at Ewood deserves nothing less C#### -

If we had a 20k shoe box we'd have a way better atmosphere even now with it half full. -

Waggot was brought in to just squeeze every penny he could out of the limited means he had. His whole career was based around that as was his philosophy which he'd already stated in various early interviews. Squeeze what you have till it pops...and it did. However at times he did have leeway in the budgets some of which was spent well on fees and wages but equally as much was wasted. Mowbray was also part of all that both good stuff and not so good. Slippery Steve though was brought in for those specific reasons in the first paragraph and as time went on his and TM's methods weren't really taking us anywhere other than water treading. It seems the owners were happy with that for a while then got fed up and taking the usual bad advice thinking they could pay less but get similar for the money the cutbacks began. This is where Steve & Suhail were in their element, easy money until cracks obviously formed in that partnership. One wanting frees/loans/cheap deals but experience and bigger wages. The other wanting youth, potential but small fees AND wages plus cuts to cheaper across experienced club staff as well. Including Stevo and now here we are, no mans land but as JH hinted at removing Waggot whatever his limitations etc has removed the one bit of football stewardship experience there actually was there. Suhail, long been my opinion, now with Rudy are just a pair of agent stooges. -

They are back to the dived and conquer tactics but utter pointless this time. The boy who cried wolf will be ignored now even if hes about to be eaten this time. Happy clappers aren't happy clappers anymore just look at the ground and zero atmosphere that is now regular not the odd one. People have had enough. -

Sorry to be Owen Coyle but i'll do it for 50k plus perks and benefits. I won't hide down south either and i'll happily fly to Pune weekly if that's what it takes to sort this club out ! -

Just there to cover whatever company rules apply in the absence of a CEO or MD i assume. There must be some sort of rules that have to be adhered to in title at least.
