  1. 'Ste Kean' Tells us all we need to know about that post.
  2. Remember though it's only a tiny minority who are making a bit of noise. The lengths that these people will go to in order to protect their cosy little gravy train knows no bounds, just imagine what they tell the owners. Only reason they are rattled and panicking is because they are terrified of that coming to an end and very little to do with another season completely imploding and the shambles on the pitch.
  3. Then get rid there is no excuses bollocks to upsetting Gestede he can do one as well it seems a bit of a coincidence that things have gone backwards since he suddenly went from tea boy to head of football operations. I just don't believe this guy will mould a team in summer and be better next season there is absolutely nothing we've seen nor nothing in his past to suggest he will either. It';s what they seem to be banking on and will see that as face saving but if the object again next season is just stay up this is 100% the wrong guy, he's flopped everywhere else for a reason. That's before we consider the summer budget will be used tea bags and copper coins.
  4. No good panning the players however dismal they might be, aim it at the real constantly recurring problem upstairs and in India. The loss of Eustace rattled them and we'd already lost form but it's clear they've never bought into the guy nor understand his tactics.
  5. When you are looking at a starting line up containing Buckley, Hedges and JRC we've no right to expect anything. Not one of those would start in a team outside the bottom 3 yet all 3 are what will be considered key players next season.
  6. He'll be on at least a million quid for this gig over 3 years so he'll take the flak Kean style. Just hope he decides it's not for him and says give me a years wages and i'll go otherwise these last few months will be agony.
  7. I remember the mess around the Mahoney thing at the time and i think they could have signed re-signed him for a few quid more than the peanuts he was on but they seriously low balled him, then later Bournemouth came in. Shame really he was handy to have around the squad and they might have got a reasonable fee but he's just one in a long line of F ups by that clown.
  8. Probably because he's had a few good games and caught the attention of a few scouts so they'll get him back here and put a few Championship mins in him so they can ask for a couple of hundred grand. The gap between that level at Chorley and the Championship is huge so there can be no other reason.
  9. Interesting podcast i stumbled upon on Youtube i think it was called The Business of Football, they were interviewing the Plymouth CEO. He stressed the point of regular communication being paramount at community clubs who were very much up against it budget wise. Engaging with the whole fanbase and community and developing that understanding all in it together making then feel important and part of it because it helps during in the sticky periods. Touched on head coaches/managers wages saying they start in the Champ from a couple of hundred grand per year if it's a longer contract up to a million plus for bigger names and short term deals. He said 1 year contracts for older or experienced players are becoming the norm, agents like them because the terms are bigger, clubs outside the top end and parachute clubs favour them now due to worrying about relegation. You can exactly see what the mindset is at Ewood now it's almost the same as a club who've spent most of their recent times in league 1 and expected nothing more than fighting relegation this season. Yes they are capable of bigger gates in a bigger untapped area but even he said they can't charge a lot and they've not got billionaire owners. Also only just starting out with their academy. I cannot help but think the russian roulette policy in terms of going with such a low budget is being done on purpose now by tweedle dum and tweedle dee.
  10. Data running and coaching football is a large part of the reason it's becoming so boring and predictable to watch. The you have a go we have a go element is disappearing from the Championship and that's what made it a good product without the polish of the Prem. Now though it's becoming a hollowed out version of the Prem and look at the likes of Burnley, yes its become effective because they have a multi million quid squad and enough at the top end to gobble up the odd chance but you don't want teams with no goal threat playing like that. Makes Allardyce ball look like Barcelona.
  11. They've been here nearly 15 years and its taken selling a player for 18 million in order to get some of the stadium washed.
  12. He's assessing and asking Lowe and Johnson what he should do....
  13. I'd say having to pay their govt a 20% levy on foreign money transfer is the biggest issue. It's ok Waggot saying whilst there is money coming in from transfers they don't need to send any but that is the real issue they should still be underwriting the bills and allowing a large chunk of transfer income for re-investment whilst we have the chance. There is always an obstacle to that though it seems, that money should be going into the next AA, the next Sammy, the next Dack but it isn't it's paying bills and being spaffed on wages for likes of Dennis, Sanderson, Forshaw and numerous loans. We'll never go forwards until that kind of investment is made, speculate to accumulate.
  14. So they've announced now they want a form of ID from anyone buying physical tickets. The digi nudge unit is making the best of this one.
  15. Seeing as they don't know er....which league we'll be in i wonder what sort of terms they've flung at him.
  16. Yep say the need to 'assess' then drop terms in front of them knowing their agents have been busy for months and the interest and terms are elsewhere. Then it's 'we had a contract on the table for months but he chose to move on' It's always down to the player at Ewood.
  17. Forshaw should be offered 2 grand a week if he wants to stay i'd rather they put that wage into retaining Travis and Trons. Cantwell needs to do one as well there's a good few quid wasted there but nobody will pay for him he'll probably end up paid off. With signing and wages of Fleck, Siggy, Cantwell and Dennis how much is that down the tubes never to be seen again with sod all return. Significant investment the idiots would call it but i'd call it money that should have been used towards buying a decent forward.
  18. You are a known fan of his so it's hard to spot.
  19. Iv'e long suspected a mill or two goes through the tube elsewhere every year, though not illegally there'll be loopholes and ways and means to filter a bit out. No one is telling me English football doesn't have a Non Bio element the UK is the money laundering capital of Europe and as long as it isn't drug or terror related a lot will slip through loopholes via City of London, mainly tax avoidance stuff. However even if a decade of bleeding has been going on there has to be an upper limit to it the SBI and co won't just keep extending facilities when very little flows back.
  20. Have you ever listened to those Under the Cosh podcasts ? To a man every player who experienced him here thinks he's a complete tit, nice bloke but football wise...a tit.
  21. The drop in intensity is obvious and reading comments from WBA and Watford fans it was missing in his time there where he seemed to prefer the slow ball approach. The Barnsley time seems very much to be a one off and imo they've gone for him partly because he's a plodder, record is neither good nor bad but bang average. This club loves that.
  22. If someone offered those two a big fee or slice of the action to arrange a deal to buy the club they'd be on the next flight to Pune International. I'd suggest that's the only way it would ever happen.
  23. Did the Walker Trust ask for the money back Jack spent in the decade he and they were funding the club ? No, they asked for roughly the saleable asset value but then had to knock 20 mill off because of external debt so the price was circa 39 mill. Previous owners nearly always have to write off their balance outstanding sheet because in reality it's just money they were prepared to lose when they spent it.
  24. The sales of Kalinic, Jones and Samba brought in near enough the 39 mill they paid including the debt which for all we know wasn't paid off but restructured. Be no surprise if they got their 24 million back pretty quickly and whilst they have clearly used a gigantic amount of company money there's a lot of smoke and mirrors to that 2/300 million. Nobody and i mean nobody just throws away that hard cash.
  25. He ended up here because he had experience of running struggling clubs regardless of Mowbray who no doubt recommended him but was doubtful in a position to appoint his own boss. I'd say the usual agent connections played the biggest part.
