Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
Tomphil2 replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I'm presuming the loans out are in order to get these lads mins then they all come back into our first team squad to stake a claim in pre season. I think it's nailed on they'll be looking to integrate them again from summer as opposed to them being shunted out with a view to be let go. -
It's extra money coming in at this time of year assuming there is a few thousand take up the offer.
-
Maybe they can't offer new contracts until some extra money starts coming in hence the rush.
-
Whoever is making the final decision just doesn't really care they'd rather have 10k averages at higher price points and guarantee a certain income figure that keeps them in a job. Nobody expects them to give season tickets away but the missed trick with the 150 years so called celebrations is abysmal. The fleecing of younger fans and dads bringing kids in certain areas is unforgivable.

If you're Gestede and/ Waghail and you plan another big summer of change moving players out and in whilst foisting more young loans and academy players onto the first team you need your own puppet in place. That's what this guy is he'll know exactly what is going to happen that's why he looks like he isn't bothered right now. And for agents it'll be another summer of a feeding frenzy at the Rovers trough commission wise. -

This time they've surpassed themselves though. -
Not sure the owners are imo it's more a case of the select few running the club for them in Blackburn who are on such a good number they won't ask the owners for more investment. Because it makes them look good, keeps them in wages and ego, if you listen to Waggot and some of his past interviews hes been itching for this model for years.

They haven't been able to commit to any long term contracts for the higher paid players and everything at the club is short term'ism so how the hell have they committed 3.5 years for this fella ? Very odd, pray there is a 6 month summer clause and he decides to walk. -

Don't think hes lost the dressing room it's more a case of hes never had it and whilst most of the players looked like they'd run through brick walls for Eustace i don't think they'd jog across the road for this fella. So the excuse he and the club will use is everything will change in summer when he builds his own team. I doubt in the history of the Championship there's ever been a hierarchy who have blatantly torpedoed a top 6 effort like this lot have. It's more than sheer incompetence imo. -

The only sense that can possibly be applied to his appointment is to assume Gestede stamped his feet for this one. -
It shouldn't be difficult for any fan to boycott just one game.

It will be they'll never let it go bust but where their managed decline will leave us is anybody's guess and i'd take a punt on another decade of this ownership giving us lean times the like of which this club has never seen before. The message form fans now needs to be loud and clear, invest or #### off. There is no in between anymore. -

The club requires a guy who can grow the team on no budget, grow with the team and grow the club, that's their pitch to prespective employees. Yet they already found that guy a few years ago his name was Yon spelt Jon but they screwed him over and had to get a pragmatist in who they then screwed over like the other guy. this fella is here because he's probably a pal of Gestede and just wanted a job, not this job just any job and i think the evidence of that is overwhelming. Nobody wanted him he doesn't look like he really wants it he doesn't even talk like he wants it the whole thing from top to bottom is now filled with people just going through the motions and collecting wages because that's their job, i include at least half the team in that. The season can't end soon enough for me and at least the chaos of the coming summer will garner a bit of interest but probably for all the wrong reasons. -

Yep he stamped his style straight away as did JDT albeit after a few weeks of pre season. Now though it just looks like chuck and chance but to get the best out of this squad we can only really play one way.....and it isn't his way obviously. -

Today was always going to be a tough one but this guy really hasn't got the first clue. For context a lot said the same about Eustace but he didn't walk into a team in 5th place. -
Waggot was an upgrade on Shaw that's for sure and don't forget a former programme printer became his assistant director. Then we had a former SKY tv reporter come in to communicate with fans who was then gagged but became a football director. Something tells me they're returning to type again and if there is a post Waggot era to come it could get even more messy.

The people in that corner stand all the time anyway it's a pointless exercise. I had a seat there for a decade and if i had a quid for every time my arse touched the seat i might be able to buy a pint.
-
Waggots car is on auto pilot, sets the same course every summer then sits in the back with his feet up, destination nowhere, rewards = very handsome indeed.
-
If you were a finance person sat in an office in London or India with zero interest or connection other than its just landed on your desk this is exactly how you'd go about re-setting prices. They've just looked at the dearest seats and said well people who go there can afford more so hike it, next is the most popular area that always sells out first, right make those premiums seats as well. A token gesture to offset this.... well make it cheaper in the riverside so some can move or lump it. We know the main issue is the people at the top don't listen because they don't care, it's probably not even Waggots doing.

We normally finish seasons quite strongly, once the pressure is off to do anything. Think we'll have to lose a few more first just to make it dead before a winning run to 8th place.... -
I've never bought into Waggots theory that they can't slash prices because they wouldn't sell enough to cover it, complete cop out nonsense. The figures we've seen of only 4k full adult tickets sold expose this there is no way we wouldn't double that paltry figure if they halved that price last season . However it might impact the full price match by match buyers and he doesn't want that it's the key to his thinking imo. Quite happy to have c4k match by match buyers over a season he's hitting his money income targets through them and away fans. We are back to his classic squeeze what you have agenda as was the way under TM that saw the ST base mostly decimate season on season before the desperate 'oh we better knock 20 quid off' token effort.

Not sure on the total allocation but looks like there's not many left at all so another good Saturday afternoon long trek following on the cards. Time for the wallflowers to wake up from minute 1 and this head coach to show some grit not look like hes just been dropped into the dugout to watch the match.
