  1. Great points about Student season tickets and attracting kids.Kids free under 8 attract Parents to bring them.Having Season ticket holders keeps you attending thru the bad patches.I want the Premier plus ticket back so there isn't the fag of having to buy individual Cup tickets and you can pay for it by standing order every month. And thenodrug is not belittling people ...his point is "Use it or lose it".There will be cheap tickets to play Blackpool(whatever Division they are in). Whatever must messrs. Hughes,Savage,Bowen etc think of the level of enthusiasm and fan base we have? And it has never taken our Directors long to take the pessimistic route.Read "Century of Soccer" or one of Jackman's books re the 1960s and 1970s. 20,000 FOR COLCHESTER CAMPAIGN.
  2. I have saved my Cardiff stubs just in case we draw a big club..in case you all decide to come out to play a la Celtic.
  3. Mrs Jansen -according to another thread cos the match is a Monday you may be putting in one of your rare appearances. Hope your boy is playing!
  4. 9141 ? So what's the problem to solve for the FA Cup 5th Round?
  5. Todd was as quiet as ever last night and showed no sense that he had taken on a new role.A bit like "Soft Bazza" then.
  6. Well it was an exciting match.I was wrong by 20% predicting 11,000 but as thenodrug has so amply put it it all shows a public drifting away from Ewood.Of my crowd of 20 or so only 10 turned up(incl. 4 from my family) Lets hope Lilly and a better crowd for the 4th round start to jack up general fanaticism(S.V. Fan) for the April 6-pointers and then next years Season Tickets. If we don't get 20,000 for the Colchester match or 25% more than Bumley I will be worried that 2005/6 will be the relegation season. If the Premier League is starting to lose its popularity why is it always twice as bad in East Lancs?
  7. A few tickets still available and the weather is Spring-like.
  8. Bellamy,Dickov,Savvo and Flitty in the same team....TASTY With presumably Todd to nut anyone who gets thru!! What a move from Soft Bazza - the only Celt footballer ever to be homesick- to a team that isn't a pushover. And we always prided ourselves on the ball-players and dribblers. Bazza has to go for £5m nett.
  9. That mascot that was taller than midget previous Captain. Makes Sherwood,Hendry,Shearer,Parkes,Clayton seem like Gods and Sir Bob Crompton the legend he will always remain. Barrie Ferguson a stain and a pin-head in our glorious 130 years history.
  10. What is going on in that guy's head. After 2 months we had to nurse him back from injury and now he wants to leave. His package will have cost us £10m incl. Agents, wages and signing on fees. No wonder he's been the most un-inspiring Captain in 40 years.A lot of fans who have backed him will be a lot wiser today. Minimum £5m.
  11. 15000...have you seen the weather? Burnley's new grass and old tarpaulin(HA HA) are going to be tested-the fixture should be played by May. Better weather for Wednesday night but just rounding up the Huskies! Still 2-0 Rovers and inevitably MGP to score.
  12. Hoping for 2-0 and 11,000 including 41 from this Board(plus a few more who decide to sneak in) Then the row about the Colchester tickets starts!!
  13. The vote is at an interesting stage: - 52 going - 39 disillusioned - 36 excuses Assuming the 36 always have excuses the attendance should be 50% of our normal hard-core 18,500 plus Cardiff fans.At least 10k then. So if its more than 10000 does it make this Board unrepresentative? The silent yet positive majority would have voted with their feet and the dissenters have spent it at the pub(or £10 of it) If under 10000 then I will admit the Club and the positive, less parochial fans like myself were wrong.(if we are then how do we survive in the Premier League?)
  14. So when budgeting do we assume no Rovers Cup matches? And now we see a route thru to 5th round should we not support the team to get a Cup run at last? The poll should have an extra line : "I will not be attending til we get to the Semi-final but reserve the right to complain at each stage of the FA Cup until we win it gloriously in May at the last Cardiff final"
  15. Will the mods allow us to start an "I'm going " thread to dispel the gloom on this one.Theno is right ...£19 goes to the football club we want to do well. Also £10 (the figure you might pay) from £19 means 5 less pints or one less taxi fare or shopping at Aldi rather than Tesco. If "Roversismylife" you have to calculate these sacrifices.
  16. How can the Rovers win? You dont turn up when the prices are much lower eg Bournemouth,Team B/C matches, and you also want the Rovers to do well in the Cup for a change. Everton would never have a thread like this on their site..they would go out of devotion. And then we have members with names like "Roversismylife" saying they are not going to go.Am I missing the irony. Cup prices are not fixed by the Home Club.
  17. 3rd bid for savage about Tuesday of next week I think.Keep in touch with him daily at home and let unethical Brum stew. Whatever happens if you want to keep Bazza at the Club you fans of him need to stiffen the boards resolve not to accept £4m to £5m from anyone. Still think we'll see Savvo at Pompey. At least he is a bit of a character, profile for the club and may help to get more fans in(which is still the root of all our problems) Keep your nerve Rovers!!
  18. N Weaver ..now you're cooking. But I warn you this thread is not known for its subtlety. In football poker the player still holds the cards..Savage will be at Portsmouth.
  19. According to Tribal Football we might be accepting only £5m for Barry ferguson so we need a holding midfielder badly. And its the time fom Brockhall to Cheshire thats the vital issue cos the M6 thru Staffs is the 2nd worst jam in UK.So he's using this as an excuse to get a last payday. We get 3 years"loyal" service and a will to win attitude.
  20. Savage story should reach a new twist after he's spoken to Sullivan and Gold today. Savage in the team allows ferguson to play higher up pitch,is an insurance policy just in case we get a £6m+ bid for Ferguson, which the Board would accept, and ensures that our fighting spirit approach to the season continues. This still means that our main post-Dunn/Duff problem of quality play on the ball continues until some of our youngsters(Johnson,Peter,Donnelly etc) can be bloodied. We can no longer afford to buy quality cos we do not have the £4m+ that buys the finished article.
  21. Wire up the posts and crossbar, let a World War 2 siren sound and the whole of the goal should flash with colour lights for the team that has scored. Then Sir Alex at the Theatre of Dreams(self-named) would just about believe it.
  22. Old wives saying : "The closer you get to the Rovers the more your love affair will cool" 194 got so close that even Cummings was starting to appreciate him.
  23. BluePhil, you need to examine your thought processes and any notion you have of History. Firstly, were not the products of your childhood not largely made in the British ex-colonies? and Secondly it is reducing the inequalities that persuades people to stay in their own countries. You have all the words of a mean-spirited,true Blue Tory. But being a fellow-supporter I love you still.
  24. Flopsy...on the mark and for those who object to him really shouting consider the real significance. This disaster is already the Worlds 16th highest loss of life in a single earthquake since the year 856. In 1201 1.1m people lost their life in Egypt and Syria and that was the worst tragedy.Krakatoa in Java that we've all heard of was responsible for just over 100,000 lives. Puts everything in perspective for the "Blue" contributors and why the G8 nations need to do as much as they can.The Blair Government has an exemplary record on Internationai aid with DFID in the Uk regarded as the world leader(not forgetting USAID).We have given £50m now plus at least another £50m from the people by next week. So give generously..its just been Christmas...and its the true meaning of a christian attitude. This post means no political or religious harm to anyone.
  25. The key difference of a Coach and Manager is when you cannot buy players. So Hughes and the new brigade have done brilliantly on fitness, style, passing and performance. And Souness and "Dads Army" how have they performed? The case for Hughesy rests.Well done..we might have been down like a Woy or Kiddo by now..and the recriminations would have started. We look on just as interested bystanders at what happens to the Toon.
