  1. Seems to have spent £35 on bets, fuel and reduced life expectancy. In addition extra PC time rationalising his actions. Fine should be at least £20 to Tsunami Disaster Appeal so that he can get everything into perspective.
  2. Recent Thenodrug post as "eugenics" post for 2004.Just gone back to the records and Ciccio's middle name is andretti! In all the Barry threads the key thing not mentioned is the Board's reluctance NOT to snatch off the hand bearing a few millions. Not sure they can be trusted whilst attendances and general Rovers interest has drooped.
  3. Yesterday I was defending Paul Dickov against the doubters! How can you be doubters at £150k or 70 times less Grabbi and pudding Davies. Bolton away...Spit in a minute,he's gonna spit in a minute. PRICELESS!!!
  4. No mention of Lucas Neill...my man of the match. The thread has too much complaining re Dickov. Not only is he an absolute steal for £150k but with our lack of money we'll not find a good enough striker to replace him.For a double-whammy I'd go for Robbie Blake. Also buy Savage to push ferguson higher up the pitch. Back to the match. How similar the last 10mins v Everton and the bar-codes.Wanting to keep the point but not quite convinced with our attacking style .Thommo the headless chicken still a threat and a risk at the same time. and on to the " breezeblock". Wrap up well.
  5. Parking near Ewood...it was the residents that complained and the Council had to act with residents only parking.Go to London for the eventual outcome of this,at Ewood the only places to park are at least a mile away now. More reasons why Uncle Jack should have bought more residents out of their homes! We need reverse Park'N Ride for the home matches or re-introduce the Town Centre buses or the Darwe-Blackburn tram. Now what was this thread about?
  6. Whilst I think demos and booing against Souness are probably counter-productive, there came a point in 2002/3 season with Dunn being misunderstood and Berg coming out and saying there were 10 players that the Manager had fallen out with, that got most of us doubting. And the low crowd of 25,000 incl. 8000 Evertonians and only 20,000 of us left(max) stems out of the unrest and dismantling. So we have won 6 out of 35 home matches(guess) and the support is disillusioned -- whatever Souness did we are left with the wreckage and Hughesy has to stick it all together. The conclusion is I probably will boo Sourness and his Dads Army and cheer Big Al when he comes on as a sub when they are losing 1-0.At least the barcodes paid us to transfer all the hasbeens up to Newcastle.
  7. Back to the question: it was Kenny who said- "if you dinna score you dinna win" ...approximately.And since the current trend is for only ONE striker and more in midfield we need an attacking midfielder.
  8. Almost happy with the result.Hasta's contribution was spot on.....this season is going to be a struggle.Any team needs quality up front and in midfield to get the wins.We aint really got it. Need to play 4 : 5 :1 like Spurs did and make sure midfield wins its battle. And we need players to make lung-busting runs to get from box to box.So Reid is needed,Ferguson playing more forward and we probably need to buy a hold-up centre forward and Jason Koumas(3 years late). Also a £million for Robbie Blake(3years late) would also sabotage the enemy! KEEP THE FAITH.
  9. With the drum its like a german tennis match but without the drum you'd just sing anti-Burnley songs. It brings atmosphere.Put the drummer on the Riverside.
  10. Just voted for a WORLD CLASS player and we saw his progress from the Youth team.Sorry Jason its not you!
  11. Having seen Ali Macleoud to zero person now(Emerton is a right winger) the one that stands out as being worth a season ticket alone is our Damien...one of the 3 gems and the best of them. In order of skill and sheer excitement they would rank(in my humble opinion) Duff Sellars Wilcox(because of Shearer) Brotheston Ali Mac Harrison To me Shearer,Duff and Friedel have been the only 'best in the world' whilst playing for us...though clearly Bob Crompton was and I personally think that Mike England was in 1965. Aren't we lucky and unlike the Mancs more likely to be grateful.
  12. What is depressing is the difference that 2/3 years can make. The 3 gems......Duff,Dunn and jansen were committed, dribblers, entertaining and worth the price of a season ticket for just ONE of them and Duff was the best. Dunn and Jansen were the next selections for England. A bloody motor-bike in Rome and(according to Berg) Souey falling out with 8 to 10 players including Dunn(and eventuallyCole) brought the whole edifice down. When Jansen scores and seeing Dunn back on his pitch reminds us all of the hope...and how Souey sabotaged it all with Victorian man-management and 3 yes-men.
  13. Any reaction from Tim Sherwood? Beaten by a stiff. Bitter Latheron supporter..1 more vote than Super-Atko.
  14. Den. This is exciting and distracting.47-46 at 12.30pm...what will it be at 2pm? And then you think only 22% of our Sept 5th high of 636 users have voted and only 4% of our(supposed) 3045 registered members have voted. As a Latheron voter I say VOTE EARLY VOTE OFTEN VOTE FORREST.
  15. As a Latheron voter I'm perplexed he has so few votes but clearly the Historians are split on this and the modernists have just chosen the Captain of our Premier Champions.Fair enough. What we need a Stewards enquiry on is the fact that there have been 56 users active in the last 15 minutes,we supposedly have 3045 registered members YET ONLY 134 MEMBERS HAVE VOTED. Its not the Euro bloody election but where are the missing members?Has Peter Cucumber and his friends given up?How many are dead?We need an Admin. enquiry plus a check of the calibrations.
  16. Just think if Mark Hughes leaves in 3 years time and takes his backroom staff then half of Wales are going to leave the Ribble Valley in one fell swoop.Who's going to be Caretaker Manager? There'll be nobody left except Ronnie Clayton. And what about the effect on house prices. God do we need a match(win) tomorrow.
  17. After recovering from the shock 3 reactions - most supporters will ALWAYS have known TP at the club. - Tony was here when we were at our very lowest(signed by Ken Furphy and the man who covered for really crap left-fullbacks until Basil arrived) - First President of Rossendale Blues when lottery sales were absolutely vital I will remember him as a really genuine guy and hope he and his family remain Rovers Supporters. That will be the acid test if we have really hacked him off. Anyway he's not dead ... so get on with life Tony.I have had 8 employers in the time you've only had ONE!
  18. Send search party for our leader....... PETER CUCUMBER.
  19. In terms of greats I thought it had to be Latheron...the bio certainly convinced me.And then Forrest was included which really starts to do your head in -he won more than anyone else ever has for Rovers. Yet the Captain of only our third League Championship has to rate very highly. Help!!! this could turn out very unsatisfactorily!I think it has to be: LATHERON
  20. Damage done...now move on,and wait till Boxing Day. We now need to up our home-grown players in the team cos we should all like to see the sheer commitment and energy of playing for your home team. Bring back Dunny and Beattie and fingers crossed for Jemal, Ciaran,Bruce, one of the Taylors and Garner/Barker. Here's to an away win on Saturday.
  21. Lets not go overboard....Hughsey played a team that could run and run.Not a team(except for Tugay and Emo) that would try to be intricate. The defence was actually superb-The pass to Riise for the first goal was world class and Baros looked way ahead of Owen. It was the first really hopeful product of the coaching and endurance work that this sub-Premier squad has shown and will need before we bring in or back some of the diamonds you need in the Premiership. See Tashor post for what I felt like last night!
  22. Ferguson for £7m to anyone -Savage and Dunn for £4m plus what Brum already owe. That's relegation and pride solved in 2 moves. During the Saints/Brum match there were never less than 4 of our ex-Apprentices on the pitch at any time(not incl.Beattie and Tiny) Makes you weep.
  23. Voter Apathy....with hours to go why have fewer than 200 members voted. What %age of our membership is this.No wonder we only get 20000 to a home game - most of our supporters can't even recognise a good centre-half.Or did they want to vote for Alan Hunter? We must be told.
  24. My boyhood hero was Mike England and I found my scrapbook recently of his stoical efforts in Div 1 relegation season in 65/66.English football on the up and we get badly relegated!Plus the goal at Bumley when we won and he played centre-forward.Magic ..even after all these years. BUT I will be voting for our Colin..Mr.Blackburn Rovers. The single best buy in my lifetime. The winning goal at Wembley resurrected BRFC. Says it all really.True legend and nearly alongside Bob Crompton,Ronnie,Dougie and Uncle Jack.
  25. Only just got back from London and everyone is over-reacting.The only difference between the teams was one corner kick and they were at home. As soon as they scored we attacked for most of the second half and showed our lack of sharpness in front of goal. My only issues are that we need so much coaching on free-kicks,corners and even throw-ins(surely Prozone is going to show this) and i feel like the little boy looking at the Emperor with no clothes on.."What do people see in our new captain Barry?" cos i'm still looking. Here's to 3 points on Saturday.
