  1. Went out specially for a copy - and the printing had wobbled ,so the pictures were not as clear as on the web-site. WE WANT AN EWOOD PARK EXHIBITION!
  2. Your photos in the LET should speed up the process of getting an exhibition of them at Ewood...especially any Summer. I am missing my fortnightly trips to the shrine. And can we have a Museum for all the BRFC objects from ebay!!
  3. Duff and Dunn ON THEIR WAY OUT! Jansen made by Souness? Are you trying to rewrite history...Souness had a good legacy from our Youth team(most of whom have finished up at Big Club),he also had 3 good years during which his bullying style worked, then it all fell apart. Thanks for the 3 years but most of all for harnessing the 3 gems for our pleasure.
  4. Two facts for the summer debate(?) Souness and Jordan are big mates(must admit to being disappointed with Jordan) and when Souness came to Ewood he had the 3 Gems just starting to make their mark(Dunn,Duff and Jansen)....all the team needed was frightening and a number of the rubber dinghy boys removing(Grayson,McAteer, and lots of centre-forwards)
  5. Not on telly,1000 kids places and Citeh on the Darwen End. Surely 26,000 to 27,000?
  6. Don't you feel smug when you can say you were in the crowd(?) for Port Vale and Wrexham at home in the 70s...with Dad and wife....and can appreciate just what we have achieved. But I want band-wagonners to join us - 8000 more please- to feel the sheer pleasure of Tuesday night. PRICELESS.
  7. Dillo...what a monster supporter you are and beautiful pictures. There is so much potential in showing and maybe publishing these photographs and others you may take in the future. You are the queen of Rovers Supporters.Never mind the Rovers in Europe..... you could bring us the rich Asian market. RESPECT
  8. Reading this thread...1864 got the mood and optimism in lancashire exactly right. Evening Telegraph for today reports Mark Hughes as ready to shake hands on a new agreement. His back-room staff and Hughesy's will to win are the fantastic added value he brings. A bit hoarse this afternoon.Expecting a lot from the extra 10,000 fans on Sunday cos the 17,000 Roverites last night had to do the work of 2 fans each.We could not hear you in the pubs and armchairs unfortunately!
  9. With only 59 voting on this thread and by the responses buying about 80 season tickets pre-May 1st we can't gloat over bumley. With our gloomy fans and the mass of non-UK fanatics we have probably not reached 4300 early birders like they have. Net fans seem to dissolve as soon as you ask em to support the team. BITTER BLUE.
  10. Just back from match Sunday late. 6 fouls and 4 bookings as compared with celebrity refereeing! We might as well get stuck in on tuesday night and scare Chelski a bit. Not enough stress on thread as to Lucas on Saturday...clearly man of match and absolutely immense at full-back and centre half. Two draws or one win to be sure. Need everyone there on Tuesday night.
  11. Leave him alone - all wingers are notoriously inconsistent. Best scoring winger since Bryan Douglas....nuff said. Name a winger better £ for £ in value to their team. Can only think of John robertson at Notts forest and Jason Wilcox for Alan Shearer.
  12. Wow! Gally and Bellers a possibility for Saturday...what a great idea.Gally has had lots of match practice and the local boy. Setting off on wednesday evening for London with the other 5 coming down on Saturday for the weekend. We need 4 more points.Make sure you are there.
  13. The lower gates(65% of total space v the Premier average) eventually has more of an effect on the motivation of the manager more than us supporters. The discussion I had in the chippy on Thursday evening included: -it was boring under souness -I have Sky and that costs a lot -I am very busy Only me and the assistant in the chip-shop went....its always been the Blackburn way. If it isn't raining it soon will be. We need to be the Regional team - like Lyon. That's why we need to act as the Regional Team...Transport,bundling matches,Neutral section, cheaper Bleachers section,Hotel, weekly non-football events,Motorway fast route and other facilities. Its about economic development as much as football development.
  14. Bellamy....WORLDCLASS!!! He's ours and whatever happens we can't lose.
  15. I thought there were 25,000 on so was shocked by just short of 22000. Need to now do it again for a non-televised match and have pre-match entertainment and stuff going on outside and £5 vouchers for future matches. Still not convinced by the overall Marketing(Period).
  16. If Mark Hughes wants Dunny back then he will have to fit in with the current team ethos and fitness.Otherwise too much at stake. Meanwhile passionate fans want him back cos he was one of the 3 jewels in the crown...we miss Duffers and think he is wasted at Chelski....we are wrecked by Jansen ruining his career himself...and Dunny was part of Souey's man-management failures. I do not think he will come back- only Big Col and Herring have been successful returners and there have not been many others(Byrom,Pickering,Bob Crompton as Manager)The Board don't usually like em back.
  17. What proof is there that Season Ticket holders are hacked off by Offers? Why are Rovers always in a Lose/Lose situation? And are they. Weren't you happy with that Full house the other year against Fulham(?) with kids for a quid? If you are a season-ticket holder and can afford it (80%) the choice for 2006,2007,2008 is already made. Even if the Rovers Board mess it up....1964,1968,1970s,1989,1996.....we will still buy a season ticket or at least 8 to 10000 will. The key supporters are the 6to 10 year olds and the 18 to 22 year olds based in lancs or outside. We want a fuller ground with more atmosphere and a greater Rovers pool of different rovers commitment...then all the marketing ploys so well put by Toronto can be used. Going down to Blackburn Town Centre this aft...will I see any Rovers publicity? I will report back.
  18. Could the drums be locked up for one home match and then see what happens(or does not). My guess is they would soon be brought back because they harmonise the chants. And like many an Away Match(Lyon,Sofia,OT,Cardiff) would the chanters just concentrate on anti-Burnley chants completely un-supportive to the team. This is a really cruel thread cos the Drummers believe they are helping to support the team...and they probably on balance are doing that.
  19. Just passed the Ground...a very quiet Tuesday. No one in the Shop and no one queueing. What's the next match then....and the sign says Home Sunderland and Home Arsenal. Now if anyone REALLY cared and if there was true teamwork at Ewood Park(rather than Brockhall) what should have happened monday morning? - Barry you do this - jim get on to them - Bill get the sign changed and get more signs for when the Women's match is on(and when the BwD signs come down) - anyone got ideas as to how to push sales...alright Jill do flyers in Blackburn Town Centre for the 'kids for a pound' scheme. NOW DO YOU BELIEVE THEY DID ANY OF THIS OR THE EQUIVALENT? And that is what BRISA have to gently get across. They don't really really care and they do not act smart. I have been a Senior Manager since 1985 and a rovers Season Ticket holder since 1972 and we have always bought our Tickets in spite of the Rovers management...not as a result of their pro-active Marketing. Arse needs to be kicked but gently at first.
  20. If you haven't got tickets for the Baggies on saturday you need to get them fast. Will they understand when we chant RIO RIO RIO just like we used to chant BEAMO! Will we have recovered by then? It is definitely in my top 5 matches of all time and I haven't positioned it in the top 5 with the others. - Newcastle Utd 1995 the Bottle game - Plymouth 5-2 in 1975 - Derby County play-offs home and away - Full members Cup Final:the Rovers resurrection and not forgetting League cup Final win,Play Off final win and 2 matches from the 60s: Blackpool in FA Cup and the 7-2 win v Spurs: and for the rare person there the 8-3 win at West ham (1963? -not there but listened to it on the radio): and Charlton away(1959?-when we got promotion-again on radio up Shad) And only one Shearer game there...3-3 Palace Away? Duff at brum The Bolton annihilation when we got promo back to Premier..and Wigan away this season. Best chants...Jingle Bells anywhere and "Are you Burnley in disguise" used for the first time last night v the Scum. MAGIC MAGIC MAGIC
  21. No, just an eye for a really good player.
  22. The next Tugay sits under our noses and is as Blackburn as most of us...and will cost nothing to bring back from Stoke City. Its Paul Gallagher...the next Teddy Sheringham.
  23. After going to nearly a thousand Away Matches since the 50s the Away at Wigan is now in the TOP 10 for goals ,atmosphere and sheer joy at our team. The shot by Reid is the hardest I have ever seen...beating Shearer v QPR and the sonic boom of Tugay at Soton. All in all well pleased and for over 5000 of us to see it FANTASTIC. Me and my mate had tears in our eyes when 5k sang Jingle Bells at the end. The best chant in football cos you've won and its helped make a good Xmas. So rejoice and don't let the boot boys spoil the memory. See you all at Man U away.
  24. Our consortia is up to 8 tickets for Wigan match so could be 16 to 20 by end of next week. 5000 may not be enough and we will surely be buying tickets for Wigan areas as well. Pie or no pies.
  25. Last night there were 3 from our Youth Team finalists(Dunn, taylor and Johnson) With Duff and Beattie they have all made the Premiership. Bring Dunn and Beattie back in 2006/7. Also another rabid Rovers supporter plays for QPR....Gareth Ainsworth. Don't forget to give him a good welcome.
