Whatever happened to Matt Derbyshire? Still at Brum or gone back to Greece. Didnt make much impact for Birmingham

Watched paranormal activity today at the cinema. One of the scariest films ive seen for a while. I find the cheap home made style with little special effects more scary and believable than the big budget hollywood films. Im into my paranormal stuff, and the fact it starts slowly and builds to a head is what alot of real life reports are like rather than being all action from the start. Made me laugh when the psycic told them he cant help, then they called him again. He flew all the way accross america to knock on the door tell them he cant help and leave again within 30 seconds. Apparently it only cost $11,000 to make and has made hundreds of millions of dollars so far. Fully reccomended but dont watch it alone in a dark cinema!

Does anyone remember that ps1 game called G Police. I loved that game. Would love them to bring out a ps3 version but since there was only ever 1 version released back in 1997 or something, it doesnt look like there ever will be

Im not up Utd's backside but you can hardly question Fergusons tactics and signings. Theyve just won 4 trophys this season and finished runners up in the champions league and semis in the FA cup. Won the league and champs league last season. Yet hes got crap tactics because they lost to an outstanding Barca team? And Rooney, Ronaldo, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra and Van Der Sar were crap signings?

Got to say Berbatov is the biggest waste of cash ive ever seen. £30m for a lazy forward who has no impact what so ever. Spurs must be laughing. Man Utd never got going, but give Barca credit they never gave them chance. For all their creative passing there extremely organised and hard working off the ball. Would have been nice to watch both teams playing at their full potential rather than just one.

Dont know if anyone has mentioned this before. http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=203174 The next call of duty will be developed by Infinity ward (COD4:MW) and not Teyrach (COD:WAW) and will return to the modern day weaponry and settings. The title is to be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Im personally really looking forward to a return to modern weaponry. Dont get me wrong COD world at war is a quality game, but I think the World War II shooter has been done to death now. Had a go on COD4 online the other day and Id forgotten how much I prefer the modern guns on that to the world war 2 guns on WAW. CANT WAIT! Call of duty best games on ps3 in my opinion especially online.

What instructions do you give you your back for and had success with. I really struggle to get my defenders...to well defend. I usually have a deep defensive line with no creative freedom across it and rare forward runs. Sometimes I send the fullbacks forward. But even with this balls over the top still catch out my defence leaving strikers 1 on 1 with my keeper. -

I believe people should serve their sentence. Crime is getting easy nowadays, troublemakers know that any punishment they deserve and recieve will more than likely be halved or more. -

Im surprised no-one has brought this up again. Im sure we all heard the reports that Hughes has been released from his sentence about 3 years early and is being signed by Oldham Athletic. Personally I think its shocking that a man can cause another mans death, and cause immense suffering to the guys family, only to be let out within 3 years and go on to recieve more fat weekly pay packets! Shame on Oldham. 6 years is not enough for what he did, never mind three! -

I just cant get any formations to work for us. We always end up playing the same no matter what instructions I give. Its soo annoying, I used to make Rovers a world beater of a team in FM2006, in this one its impossible. Were so crap. -

Has anybody played a game with Blackburn? I find it impossible to use rovers as my team. There so crap, cant defend anything and miss every chance they get almost. Ive got a game with chelsea and got to 3 champs league finals in a row, won 2 of em, won the league cup and top of the league this season. Easy. But rovers, i find impossible. Well annoying. Were always so underrated on Fm its untrue. -

This fotball manager is the worst and most stupid game they have made yet with so many crazy results it isnt even worth playing at some points! Look at this game, this is not a one off, it happens all the time! And most of these chances were 1 on 1s with world class strikers! What else are you meant to win a game. http://img176.imagevenue.com/img.php?image...d_122_497lo.JPG -

Oh MY GOD!!!!! HOW THE HELL DO YOU DEFEND???? i hate this game!!! I just cant get my teams to defend. Im bloody chelsea at the moment and stil cant defend. What do you have to do? Withn three passes my players lose the ball then for the opposition to just run rings around me and get a shot on target. its like my team refuses to try and tackle!! its impossible! -

No matter what tactics i use i simply cant get my team to play football. I always seem to find myself loosing posession after about 2 passes whilst the opposition just dribble round about 5 of my players to get an attempt on goal. Also whenever the ball is played into my strikers it bounces straight back off them or the opposition tackle them within seconds wheras the opposition who have 1 upfront play it into a loan striker, who again runs rings round my defence. IM sure there is no way to stop it! Got beat 3-0 by wigan yesterday with their strikers beating 3-4 men at a time. Shocking. -
[Archived] Benni Mccarthy - Gone

I cant see to many champions league clubs coming in for him. 29 years old, when most CL clubs could afford £15-20m players. I think they will be more interested in Berbatov, Villa etc than McCarthy. Anyway if they do come in wed get a good deal as these clubs usually have huge transfer kitties. What id be more worried about is McCarthy getting greedy and newly bought out clubs like Villa and West Ham coming in with contracts of about 60k a week, hoping he can fire them to the top of the league as fast as possibl I still reckon you could put money on him being here next season. However, how long before hughes gets tired of fending off bids for our top players from bigger clubs and accepts an offer himself. -

Big transfer fee. mabye around £10m for a 29 year old? Possibly not the worst piece of business ever. Nugent replaces him. -

Are there any good updates around yet? -
Lampard Out is the break weve been needing. Two wingers in Downing on the left and Lennon on the right, Gerrard attacking in the centre with Hargreaves holding, is a more balanced team than we have had in a long long time. Rooney should have done this ages ago! I can see a brilliant england performance, as players are playing where there best, with fast attacking wing play, destroying Andorra by about 5 goals, then next game, no balls Mcclaren will revert to the same team that drew in isreal, infuriating everyone except the FA, who will back him whatever.

If we had a pacey hard working striker to complement benni we could be in for an exciting season. I cant see McCarthy and Nonda/Roberts as a partnership however. -
[Archived] "global Warming"
benhben replied to EIEIEIO's topic in I Can't Believe It's Not Football Archive
There will be another ice age but if it is directly due to global warming is unknown. Its possible but they dont really know. It is true that if the gulf stream does stop however Britain will be alot colder. Alot of people think that changing sea currents are responsible for the melting ice in the arctic. One of the main things causing sea level rise is the expansion with heat rather that meltwater influx. -
[Archived] "global Warming"
benhben replied to EIEIEIO's topic in I Can't Believe It's Not Football Archive
Im doing a course at university and an essay about other concepts of global warming as we speak. The earths history is riddled with climate shifts, during the medieval period a warm shift occured due to increased solar activity and is known as the medieval maximum. The Uk had a climate similar to northern spain. Then in the 18th and 19 century was the little ice age when the thames froze over. So the suns output is a major influence. Also humans produce about 7 gigatons of CO2 per annum, 7,000,000,000,000 tons. I know it sounds alot but this is just 0.03% of the entire volume of the atmosphere ans the worlds oceans absorb about 150 gigatons of co2 a year along with vegetation. Also CO2's ability to trap heat becomes saturated at a certain level therefore its ability to cause global warming is limited. Mars has an atmosphere of 90% co2 and is freezing. Also new studies show that carbon dioxide concentrations follow temperatures not vice versa. This is because as the earth heats up due to solar activity, natural cycles, humans or what not, the oceans which are the biggest influences on atmospheric co2 release much of their dissolved co2. So the hotter it gets the more co2 will be released by the oceans. There is alot of global warming propoganda which is used to promote political issues, and the climatic models used to convince us are just based off scientists guesswork. Did you know in the 70's people were fearing another ice age! It shows how things change quickly. In my opinion humans have very little influence over climate change and most of it is natural. We may possibly be influencing it by a small amout however. This infomation should NOT be used as an excuse however for people and industry to carry on polluting and harming the environment. Cleaner fuels should be researched for the sake of the environments health if not global warming. -
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corrado_Grabbi Answers most of our questions about him. I feel sorry for him, i thought he played alright whenever I saw him play, if hed have got a couple of goals early on mabye hed still be with us. Had an awsome scoring recods for a couple of seasons in italy!

[Archived] Shabani Nonda Signs
benhben replied to FourLaneBlue's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Keep them both. Have faith Roberts will come good whilst Nonda adds depth to the strikeforce. Nonda wont be expensive as roma clearly dont want him that much. A tugay replacement or a right back are the only weaknesses in the squad that I can see, but even that is uncertain with Mokoenas recent display. Cant ever see Bert being a decent right back though! -

So what do people think? Stronger upfront this year or last year? Bellamy is a better player (in my opinion) than any of the current forwards we have, but we have a much stronger striking squad than last year. McCarthy, Nonda, Roberts and Derbyshire is a better all round package than Bellamy, Dikov, Kuqi, (who was the fourth?) What would you rather take, the bellamy influence or strength in depth?
