That *was* the January Window

My mate is a Hull fan. I said we had him on loan last year and was mostly crap. My mate says hes been good this year and has impressed the Hull fans. Apparently he has helped the team retain possession much better than last year. -

Watching Wigan v Man U. Wigans right winger No 17 looks better than anything we have! L1 is probably too expensive a shop for us though... -

Hull City are getting Carvlho on loan from Liverpool. He cost them £20m 18 months ago after getting promoted with Fulham. A proper loan signing that. They were like us 3 or 4 years ago, had an Egyptian owner who fell out with the fans and wouldn't put any funds in. New owner and 1 year later they're in the play offs making ambitious signings. Amazing what a good owner can do. -

Why sub off telalovic at half time. Surely these are the games you persevere with them in the hopes of getting a goal...or is he absolute gash? Ive seen plenty of Leonard to know he's never going to be that great. -

We'd literally be bottom of the league is it wasn't for Szmodic this year. Despite our recruitment policy of sell ans not replace we've been very lucky someone has always stepped up as a goalscorer in the last few seasons. We lost Dack/Graham and Armstrong stepped up. We lost Armstrong then BBD got 20 goals from no where. Now we lost BBD and Szmodic has stepped up. Can't see anyone else doing it mind.. -

Need telalovic to get a goal today and see if it can kick-start his season. -

Clubs a shambles. This has cost cutting all over it. No serious manager could work under this. It's very difficult to remain a fan never mind an employee. -

Relegation stuff. Apart from Szmodic the team has nothing. Terrible gk, porous defence and no squad. Think JDT would be a good manager at a decent side with funds to spend..but that's not us. We need an organiser with a bit of tactical nous. -

Bit of a strange move considering our lack of budget. Didn't think a CB was a priority, unless the club is planning on selling on of the current lot. Don't know anything about the lad, hopefully he's a good prospect. -

Cant see how we can really change anything. Havent got the players. The sensible thing would go back to basics and keep it simple. Defend well and nick one on the counter. Need to stop this spiral. Sounds like Telalovic put himself about a bit. Might be worth a punt from the start. -

For all the talk of of strikers, one massive thing were missing is pace. There isn't any in the entire Squad. Dolan and Markandaay look nippy but their top speed isn't fast. Moran looks a more like a poor mans Milner type wide player. Surely one of the reasons we concede so late is that when put under pressure we don't have anyone to make defenders worry on the counter and so get boxed in. If we cant get a striker in a fast wide player on loan would be next in line. Where did Dembele from bournemouth go? Didnt we nearly get him on loan last summer? -

Good lord. This is dire. The club is slipping towards L1 obscurity at this rate. Death spiral has arrived, with absolute peanuts available in January to do anything about it. -

Its been a diabolical month results wise. Squad is well and truly on its arse...however one positive is that 2 or 3 good results can shoot you up this league. From 4th down no one is very consistent. Desperate for some players to come back. Never thought I'd say we're missing Gallagher due to absolutely hopeless alternatives up front. Can see a scrappy 2-1 win. Siggy and Szmodic. -

Mad how many injuries we have. Even a decent squad would feel this many never mind our threadbare. You could make a full starting line up of injured players. Wonder if he'll be forced to 3 at the back. Leo Carter Hyam Wharton Hill Moran Siggy Wharton Tronstadt Ennis Leonard -
v Leeds Utd (h) - 9/12/23
benhben replied to Chris Whittys Barber's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Was an even game until the second goal. Midfield and defence wasn't much in it but the forward line is a different league including the options they have off the bench. The speed and penetration of the Leeds forwards compared to ours was massive. Results against Leeds, Leicester etc won't make a playoff challenge...but backing it up woth a loss against Sheffield weds makes it a terrible week. -
What was his response to this? Did he give any sort of emotive response or just appear disinterested?

19. JDT contract - it is a 3 year deal with no talks of a new contract planned at this stage, he is ambitious. We asked why JDT thinks he was sold a pup? He reiterated that its the same job as its always been with no pressure on league position. Its always been about developing and trading regardless of financial restrictions this summer. I cant get my head around why any club and CEO would state this to the manager and fans. There is literally no point in turning up if this is the case unless you see the entire clubs existence as nothing more than a business to make some money. Sooner this guy is out the better. Cant tell me Ipswich etc have a much bigger income than us yet somehow seem to have ambition.
-
Also pretty sure JDT would be keen to speak to anyone with a bit of ambition. Other than our top notch academy, there's not much going for the current job.
-
Shows the stark contrast to a club with a proper board that holds a manager to account....and us. The months long death spirals are just not tolerated at other clubs. Bang average at best manager that has been fairly quickly found out again once leaving here. If you remember Waggots comments in the summer that theres no pressure on JDT to achieve anything. This basically means JDT could have the same spirals and keep his job. Luckily JDT appears a lot more driven than Melton Mowbray ever was. Were going no where under the current club structure.
