  7. How about giving us a reason to have some faith? Silly comment to make.
  8. the truly shocking team who turned us over at ewood, with two players scoring wonder goals?
  9. Pretty much certain he'll be gone. Contract up and gagging to go home,
  10. D-Day. Should really feel sick with worry, but right now, I couldn't give a @#/?. Will be glad to have it over with.
  11. Very sorry to hear of this, it sounds like an untimely passing, best wishes to his loved ones.
  12. Saw Argo on DVD a couple of days ago. I watch quite a few films these days on DVD where I go off and make a cuppa and come back to it. But Argo held my attention easily all the way through. Quality piece of work.
  13. the scary thought that occurred to me was that if it can happen to Gary Speed then it can happen to anyone.
  14. So I have been reliably informed, people who have made the decision to commit suicide experience happiness because they know they'll soon be released from this life. They don't want to carry on living and are happy that it will soon be over. Which would explain why he would've seemed chirpy and talkative during football focus. I think it's more a brain chemistry problem than anything to do with a person's quality of life. They are not thinking clearly and their focus is on ending their life, and their thoughts are unable to extend to the feelings of those they leave behind. That's why people saying "get a grip", "pull yourself out of it" and all that nonsense are misguided and unhelpful. Depression really does scare me, because it appears the person afflicted is not consciously in control, it's as if something else has taken charge and wants to kill you. And as we've seen, it can affect anyone. Awful.
  15. Very difficult to watch the clip on Robbie Savage appearing on the news, looking very distressed. It's awful and inexplicable how someone with seemingly the perfect life would choose to end it at the age of 42. Dan Walker was saying he seemed perfectly happy yesterday on Football Focus. It's incredible, you can never be sure what's going on in someone's mind.
  16. Doubt he would hang himself over his job ... who knows what inner turmoil he had. I'm numb.
  17. Wait until 4.50 before you say that.
  18. Thought you weren't "feeding" me any more?
  19. I know of at least one person who said it, so I'm afraid you're wrong there.
  20. Well as certain people on here would have it, they've never known a takeover to happen where the existing staff have been kept on. And seeing as Venky's are doing such a good job, who am I to argue?
  21. How utterly ridiculous! "Results are poor - we've bought unsuitable players, they don't look properly prepared, the match day tactics, team selection, formation and tactics are wrong, and we can't defend. We badly need to freshen things up. But what to do? I know - we'll sack the assistant manager!" They're morons, good and proper.
