[Archived] Souness Goes To Newcastle
broadsword replied to Brownie's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Wha-hey - I just noticed the return vs Newcastle is on Boxing Day. Good opportunity to ruin Graeme's Christmas. I remember when we played the Geordies at Ewood after selling Shearer, that was Boxing Day too. We won that day, too ... -

Have they formed a rock band? Watch out! They're hot! -
Please not Houllier, the amount of cash he wasted at Liddypool was shocking. Souness only really made two big errors, Grabbi and Yorke, the money spent of those doesn't even add up to Houllier's biggest one, Diouf. 12/1 on Saunders? Hahhahahaha - I hope he's not still there. 25/1 - Bryan Robson, bet we pick him (didn't say we should, said we would).

I vote for Lee grooby. He's got to be better than some Italian noddy-head, Mike Newell, Steve McMahon, a dream combo of Kenny and Alan ("oh! Alan! My Alan!" etc etc), Paul Jewell, Stan Turnout, and every other numpty that's been mentioned. Hey, let's get Colin Hendry in as defensive coach! Because he was a good defender for us! D'oh!

After the shock of it wore off, I have to say, on balance, I'm happy. I think he'd run his natural course here, although I was willing to give him more time (unlike some). Perhaps we needed someone else to come in and shake things up. The team seemed to lack motivation last year, and I don't think he managed Cole or Yorke too well (particularly since he bought them), and i think he'll struggle with Bellamy and Dyer in particular. A really strange appointment, we're worse off in the league than you are! Personally, I think you took him because you couldn't get any other respactable appointment.

I've gotta go for a sit down in the woods ... with my revolver. Crikey.

What's all this crud about Shearer being some Alf Ramsey in the making? It's absolute balls. Dalglish as well, not a hope in hell, he's finished in management, his spells at Newcastle and Celtic ruined his reputation and he's not been back for years. So a real "finger-on-the-pulse" appointment he'd be! :-S

Now you're just taking the p***, T4E! Especially after slating someone for suggesting McMahon!

I wonder if they went for Souness because they couldn't get any other Premiership manager? I will be most miffed if they've skimped on the compensation. -

I hear Strachan has converted to Islam. He's now known as mad Bananistan Cat Stevens Gingerman. -

His twin brother. All evil Frenchmen have an even more dastardly twin brother, who invariably has a gay name. Lucien Houllier, something like that. I don't want him a million miles near Ewood. -
out of it for too long messianic, no people skills worse buying record than Souness terrible route 1 Wurzel No no no! possible wouldn't come here, surely don't fancy him as mgr what's he done? conflict of interest no way, no loyalty, no good we could do worse! (SEe above)
-
Not Mike Newell, please! Wouldn't mind Dowie, wouldn't be too happy with Megson, Strachan I'm not sure about. What I am p***ed off about is that Souness spent 2.5 mill of the club's cash waited for the transfer window to slam shut then effed off! I know you can't time these things, but it's still rank out of order.

Who the hell we'll replace him with I don't know - can't see anyone from the Premiership coming to us. Very naughty move, that, so early in the season. -

Everton also wanted him! Oi! Moyes! Find your own pigging players and stop copying us! It's like being back at school. -

I still can't believe he's gone, oh happy day. It's made my month, it really has. Either Graeme is a top-class salesman or Bwucie is a top mug. -

Or perhaps they wanted him to appear in the Sport? -
I didn't see either, but I'm guessing Newton or Crompton. I didn't see enough of the main contenders to comment/ vote.

Oh for gawd's sakes, he was always trying to get Yorke out of the door. He was hardly going to say: "Yorke is a workshy toothy ukelele-fiddler who's no use to anyone, he's history here." was he? Because it would hardly have had clubs queueing up for him, would it? Come on, Souness has been here 4 years now, you should know how he plays the game. Or are you just seeking a good moan ("Blackburnitis")? PS: How can a player brought in on loan be a "panic buy"?! -

Don't come up with reasonable points like that Manchester Blue, Rovers fans need something to moan and fret about, preferably something that's complete twaddle and can't be proved. He's terrible this Souness, isn't he? Falling out with players, "Jolly" Jack Marshall wouldn't have done it tut tut tut tut tut tut!
