  1. Le Saux is definatley the best left back I have seen in a Rovers shirt (bear in mind I'm in my 20's), the guy who tried to bring a bit of culture to the dressing room and got a smack in the chops for it! All the best to him, although commentating does not seem to be his forte. So who's left? I can only think of two maybe three.
  2. And becuase of that you will pay £45 next year, £50 the year after and so on... Where do you draw the line? £60, £70 or even £100? I would say there is a line and Chelsea have crossed it - but its a free world and if you want to let yourself be abused.....
  3. All proffesional footballers should be able to head a ball. Taller players should be able to get thier head higher than shorter players when they jump, which means the taller you are the greater proportion of ariel balls you should win... not rocket science. A low centre of gravity (i.e. small guys) is helpful with close ball control, which is why tall guys often dont have the same level of ball control. The above are of course genralisations and I can name many exceptions, but in most cases it holds.
  4. The riverside stand and cinema complex with glass fronted lobby overlooking the pitch. Get UCI to build it and pay for it and on Satuardays becomes a large behind glass bar area - similar to blues bar but with a pitch view. I know it was looked at but never heard why it failed.
  5. I agree that the current crop of youngsters is excellant and there are some good prospects in there now.... but out of Gallagher, Douglas and McEvely, Derbyshire, Peter and Johnson I dont think there is a Duff or Dunn equivelent on the verge of the first team... would absolutley love to be proved wrong.... Most likley to prove me wrong: Sergio Peter But I definentley think we will have a gem in the next two seasons and your pick Garner could be the one, his career so far has been like reading fiction... not so sure about Barker lets see how he gets on...
  6. PhilipL is big boy and will no doubt see the funny side and respond with a far superior put down..... and when he finally gets just reward for all his time, effort and trawling and makes admin or mod he will take his revenge I'm sure..... your defence however is touching....... Back on topic (sort of) BD12 offcially makes Blackburn my "local" premier league club. Who says the catchment area is small - the premier league "product" at Blackburn has a bigger catchment area than ever. Unfortunatley its not a bussiness deep down is it? After all Leeds fans are hardly going to start turning up at Ewood just to watch the "Premier League".
  7. Quality mate not Quantity...... as philipl has proved its not hard to get your post count up if you spend your life on the board responding to every other users post. Nah in all seriousness, your posts have somewhat more dimension than Vinjay's but from my perspective Lancs Utd. is distasteful as I'm from Yorkshire!! I dont mind betraying the white rose county to support Blackburn but I could never get behind the RED rose of Lancs Utd. Smells too much like Man Utd...
  8. We are not Man Utd. If a player is very talented they will move on (I hate that fact as much as the next person but its reality) what is important is the fee's that we have got for these "products" and the list you reel off up there is £20M+ which of course has helped stabilise the club long after the players departure. So lets not kid ourselves "one for the future" now means the next big pay day (after a couple of years worth of entertainment obviously). However I do agree the production rate and/or quality has gone down. Might be a factor that other clubs facilities have caught up and/or inability to attract the right calibre after our two year spell in the doldrums.
  9. Drop a few "superstars" - if you get the Wayne Rooney sulk or the Beckham pout so what? I just would omit them from the next squad - and if the others all start talking about striking then send them home... I would rather have an England TEAM than a team of individuals.
  10. The new Vinjay? Unpopular point of view constantly pushed?
  11. I think its worth pointing out that most of these claims have proved false in the past. Not wanting to sound unsympathetic but girls going back to a hotel room with some footballers and rape charges been brought the morning after is not exactly original, wether it be La Manga or London. Innocent until PROVEN Guilty. I dont care who they are, it makes no difference.
  12. Yes, cause thats right the enterprise must keep ticking over after all its not about the fans anymore - just the bottom line. Sad but true, besides at £400 for a season ticket over 19 games, start selling seats for less than £20 all over the ground I would suggest some 'exsisting customers' would be very angry. After all incentives for new customers must be balanced with the exsisting customer base.... blah blah... Shame really as a full Ewood Park is a great place to be.
  13. Well thanks for waiting a month to respond to that one... and thanks for unearthing a "dig" I was having at Kuqi just a few days after he gets offf the mark and shows great composure (and pace to get to the ball in the firtst place) to finish through the keepers legs and prove that indeed I know nothing.... As for Jansen, I agree he is/was not the fastest but I felt he was faster than Dickov/Kuqi which were the only other senior options availble at Bolton where I stand by my comment that at Bolton we looking for them to come on to us and then do them on the counter..... which is why I think he started with Jansen.
  14. You mean basically doing the job he so handsomely pays himself for not doing! Its a far cry from the early 90's when we were innovators in football. Now the board seem clueless - cue crap "atmosphere" music and blow up dolls. All I'll say is there’s two sides to every story... and no I don’t know anything that’s gone on.
  15. After predicting a defeat against Manchester Utd. I will go for Home win. 2-1 Nelson (getting closer all the time) and Bellamy. Which means of course.... I have a sneaky suspicion of 0-0 I think they might actually hold out. A draw is what they will be looking for and will put a different complexion on the game. Hope not though.
  16. If its a state of the art electronical system it can count surely and that been the case when entrants = capacity then gates shut. Yes overly simplistic I know as fans outside the ground could be a problem. Still think they have paid out for this system and don't really use it as well as they could. Another idea 10 match special - 10 seperate matches or 10 people to 1 match you choose - at grounds like Rovers these ticket options will work.
  17. I'm left wondering what the clubs motivation to move to the credit card style season ticket was. Reduce turnstile operstors? - No they have just as many people watching the lights now. Reduce having to send new season tickets out - Nope issued a whole new bank of cards this year. Stop the direct debit cheats - maybe Ability switch the card on and off on a game by game basis? - Nope Exactly why did the club move to an electronic ticket? They seem to be missing all the advantages...
  18. I'll get my coat.
  19. All this talk of formations in the press this week is making me laugh, this is probably one of four or five fixtures out of the 38 where 90% of Rovers fans would advocate playing 4-5-1 with the Axe. Negative tactics maybe but realistic, the only chance to beat them will be to frustrate them into making a mistake. Will go one of two ways...... hold out resiliently and go down to a Rooney 89th minute header or we will get spanked from the KO. Sorry cant see a Rovers win no matter how hard I try. Either way what happens in this game has no bearing on our season. Games against the likes of Everton, West Brom, West Ham, Charlton and Brum ultimatley decide where we finish. So no relegation, bankruptcy and/or doom prophecy's after the game please.......
  20. Thanks for clearing that up, like I said not having a go just wanted to know if that was your opinion or not. All I will say is there are a lot of people who genuinley cant afford and some that were managing just (in reality getting deeper into debt)... but have suddenly found themselves asking why..... and is it really worth it given the limited disposal income they have. I cant criticise them and would be shocked if anyone here did. I am familar with your orginal post thanks and also support what you are advocating re schools in your other posts.
  21. I assure I have followed the topic properly before posting. This topic is particulary close to my heart as I am from a large working class family and the only reason I am the only one who comes on the park anymore is quite simply the cost of a ticket + extras. You are unmistakeably critising all stay away fans, sorry you wouldn't call them fans. What are they then? I haven't seen a disclaimer saying that your still a fan if your skint and stay away? Now unless I'm missing something you and your mates have discussed elsewhere, becuase you go to Ewood every week and my mate so so doesn't it makes you a better fan? Yes or No? I'm not having a go - Just straight up yes or no?
  22. I feel sorry for you - you been such a loyal fan and not understanding that when you earn £13,000 a year (approx minimum wage) that going to Ewood just so you can come on here an preach what a true fan you are is not exactly top of your priorities. So if someone is faced with a choice of feeding thier kids or comming down to Ewood Park it makes them less of a fan than you? Get a grip... where do you park your range rover?
  23. One word on the new formation of choice: Catanachio {feel free to correct spelling} It is the reason Italian football died on its feet when world class players went to the premier leaugue and La Liga. If your team is not full of world class players dont even try it. It could get very embarrassing..... like yesterday.
  24. Not gonna happen Hughes is not worried about the lack of goals... {radio rovers} "we have to be defensivley soild first and foremost" despite scoring even less goals per game than last season. 3 bad halves is it now Mark?
  25. 'trade' of your draft positions - jipes like it wasn't complicated enough already, only in America.
