  1. Not sticking up for anyone, regardless of how accurate it may be, its a common opinion. If that upsets you so be it, I've just learnt to laugh it off over the years.
  2. Thats hardly a rare opinion of our fanbase though is it?
  3. You don't need strength to play his role. Its getting ridiculous people on about his stature, take it from someone who lifts heavy things, if our fitness lads felt he would benefit from bulking up they could easily do it
  4. I think such is our desperation for a keeper, or even a signing we'd lower our standards to almost anyone! Gent play very much in a farmers league so I don't think you can make accurate comparisons between this lad and Walton, although they did pretty well in the Europa last season. Interesting comments from Sharpe about 2 keepers, I would ASSUME this lad is lined up to be the first choice?
  5. Gonna have to stop reading social media as its now getting right on my tits hearing about other teams making signings and us seemingly just twiddling our thumbs. Its hard to blame just Mowbray as we don't really understand the difficulties he has when it comes to spending money on players, its unimaginable to think its an easy process though! I wish he'd just come out and be brutally honest and admit that though.
  6. Worth asking I suppose, no idea if they'd have any interest in sponsorship deals mind. Aren't they of Indian descent too? Trust is key for Indians in business, would they want to be associated with the Venkys?
  7. Totally Wicked would be the obvious choice, it'll be a mad scramble now to get a deal done so they're likely to look to someone they've already got contacts with.
  8. Sure I have an old pair of Sondico gloves at my mum and dads, I must be in contention for a start if so?
  9. I doubt it to be honest ? Only ever really seen players from Holland mentioned and they haven't been playing for months over there so we're screwed on that front.
  10. I imagine that's erm somewhat difficult at present
  11. I can't really think of a single incentive to buy a season ticket at this moment in time, absolutely nothing to do with Mowbray or the team or the Venkys - just that they're such uncertain times and IF they go on sale and I want one there'll be no issues at all getting one. I'd at least need some concrete assurances that I'll be able to use the season ticket first and foremost. I don't think football will completely stop again next season, but theres a very high possibility fans may be forbidden again for a period.
  12. So as the dust settles on another season. 4 teams got the play off spots. Of those teams we took 4 points off Brentford, 4 off Cardiff and 2 off Swansea, so only Fulham beat us. Are those 4 teams REALLY that much better than us based on this? I would suggest not. So what exactly is the issue with us being 'up for it against supposedly lesser teams?
  13. I don't think its a random coincidence that Sam scored with a winger whipping it in for him yesterday. Don't get me wrong he's not amazing but it would certainly benefit him playing in a team with Chappers
  14. As I've just stated, the squad we had then it was harder to get bloody relegated than stay up!
  15. I'd welcome the Cowleys with open arms, exactly what we need in my opinion
  16. Seeing our squad then compared to West Broms, yes I can.
  17. Such a bloody shame this is on a Wednesday night with no fans present as it could have been such an exciting final day of the season. I don't usually want us to ever lose, but I'd much rather Luton stayed up than them rats from Birmingham, horrible horrible club. They've only lost once since Jones returned, probably would be comfortably safe had he been there all season. If I had to pick a score it'd be 2-2, which could keep them up too if Charlton lose.
  18. In fairness, if Mowbray had taken over from Allardyce (or any half decent manager had) he would have comfortably kept us up as a steady Premier league team. But that's exactly our problem now in this league, being a comfortable, steady team isn't quite enough, we need to push onto the next level. I don't hate Mowbray, I have a lot of time for him, I just feel our ambitions as fans don't quite match his. The team/bench selection was very interesting yesterday though and most likely an indication that we won't spend a penny this summer. A few loans and then blood the youngsters, which I'm absolutely fine with by the way. He's actually done well in the loan market more so than his permanent signings.
  19. He's not been amazing no I completely agree, do I want him back next season? No. He, like most of our team have often been lacking in confidence which is the main issue though. Mowbray out for me. He belittles young lads in interviews yet Bennett can do no wrong? Enough is enough for me.
  20. Walton seems completely uninterested since the restart, he was actually playing ok prior to that. Why I don't know, he should be desperate to save his career. I think on Wednesday we will see Walton and probably also Graham play their last games for us. I'd love to keep Graham on in some capacity he's one of my favourite players in the last few years, however he could definitely have a season in league 1 to fire someone up.
  21. Saying people want us to lose might be stretching it a bit, but some are a LOT more vocal when we do lose or certain players mess up. It is what it is and perhaps says how they are as a person more than anything else. That's life though. Its no coincidence, at all, that naming the same starting lineup resulted in a positive performance (likewise Bennett not starting). I'd still like Mowbray to step aside at the end of the season and give someone else a shot. Its a gamble of course but one we need to take to progress. If we stay with him we will be in no danger at all of relegation, but will finish around mid table once more. We shouldn't however forget how bloody hard this league is to crack, Leeds have been at it for 10 years now and finally look to have done enough. Really hope we can avoid bids coming in for the likes of Travis, Nyambe, Armstrong and Lenihan close season as given the current climate they'll be harder than ever to turn down. On the plus side I doubt many teams are gonna be splashing the cash.
  22. Anything is possible to an extent, I'm not knocking it - just surprises me especially on here that so many still believe. Huge day all around the championship, easily one of the best leagues in Europe for me.
  23. Surprised how many people still have outside hopes of the top 6. I think there's perhaps a little bit less pressure because its so unlikely, so may work in our favour. There's certainly gonna be some goals. Its quite simple for me, keep the same team as last time out and we can certainly beat them, piss about and play Bennett, who if he does play sounds like he isn't properly fit anyway, and I can see a tonking.
  24. Someone needs to boot Bennett in training this week to make sure he's not fit to start against West Brom
