Give him a run of games, playing up front, simple as that really but highly doubtful it will happen. Strikers are confidence players, with the best will in the world he ain't ever gonna get that sat there on the bench.

Yes. -
I think we will play much better today to be fair. We all knew deep down we'd struggle against the likes of Wigan and Brum deep down, who both admitted they came for a draw. Theres always that hope that things will be different this time, but they rarely are! Ultimately that's one of the reasons we always falter when play offs are mentioned. Forest will have a go today and leave a lot more space to exploit. Hoping for 2 up top preferably Brereton and Graham but that's probably unlikely sadly.

They might be interested but I'd be literally amazed if he goes on loan considering they play 2 up top and he seems to be getting some starts. -

He was on the bench vs Huddersfield so hopefully not just gonna sit there holding Breretons hand -

Che Adam's won't be going anywhere, he's started the last few games and we know how frail Ings is. -

If we send Brereton out on loan you can guarantee Graham will break down injured. Mind you he's never going to get match fit anyway festering on the bench. Samuel also attracting loan interest apparently. -

Dunno but at 29 Smallwood needs to accept he may need to take a pay cut if he wants to play football instead of just festering his career away. Cracking league one player. -

Liverpool have rubbished the Clark story anyway, not like the Mirror to make shite up.. . -
Well we do, for the right wing we have Chapman (preferably) or Bennett (yeah I know). Alternatively Rakin Costello. For the left Downing is a winger by trade. If he isn't gonna be played as an out and out winger he's probably better off playing on the right anyway were he can cut inside on his left foot like many other players do. After that it's a fudge job though with someone like Armstrong or even Bell shunted out there

Absolutely agree on Grayson, if we're going through the upheaval of sacking a manager then we sure as hell need to be replacing him with someone better. Statistically Mowbray has been marginally more successful than Grayson in % of games won. Ainsworth I really don't know about. It's a fairytale type appointment and he does favour an attacking style which would appeal to many. It's just whether it's the right time in his career to make the step up. No doubt he's done a good job at Wycombe but expectations are nowhere near as high, especially at a club that has average crowds of about 5k. He's never had much money to spend up until the recent takeover. His contacts in the game are most probably lower league where he spent his playing career. In short, he's a massive risk and not sure one we can take.

Huddersfield also beat Forest 2-1 a week ago, just saying.

I can see us doing a 'Rovers' in this one and taking the points against all odds, 2-1 Rovers. I'll be glad to see the back of the festive fixtures to be honest now and move on. Struggling to give much of a monkeys about the cup game at the weekend.

Oh yeah I'm under no illusions that it's a possibility it's just an observation, he's just gathering dust on the bench there and it's a waste. -

Dwight Gayle could potentially be the man to fire a team to promotion, rather like Tammy Abraham did for Villa last season. Seems they want to cash in on him though rather than a loan to buy deal, so for 15M most, if not all championship teams are ruled out. -
Forget about Allardyce and Hughes, absolutely no chance of either. Pulis, could probably do a job but would he propel us to the next level and would our fans tolerate his style of anti football? He's also had numerous fall outs with owners over transfer budgets etc in his career, him and Venkys would probably be a match made in hell. Warnock is unlikely to want to work with Venkys especially at the tender age of 71, does he really need that stress at his stage in life? I'd be surprised if he manages another team again to be honest. Hughton, the only realistic one for me if we could persuade him to come.
-
Not convinced Grayson is the man, he won like 3 games in 18 at Sunderland then similar at Bradford. He's doing 'ok' at Blackpool now but they current sit in a similar position to us really, in a weaker league. Ross failed to get Sunderland promoted, a feat Mowbray managed at first time of asking. I cant really comment on his time in Scotland and I don't really follow the leagues there. IF we could attract Warnock, and I think it's a massive if, he's 71 years old. At that age he's only going to be a short term fix isn't he? Is that what we want? So the only one I'd feel comfortable with his Hughton, as I say though I think he'd prefer a shot at the prem again, although not sure where he'd go realistically so we might be able to blag him to come.
-
Ok realistically who do you think the owners could bring in to make us better? Not saying such a manager doesn't exist but I honestly struggle to think of many we could attract. At a push Chris Hughton, but not sure he'd come as i think he's holding out for a return to managing in the prem.

True, but on the baddest of bad days there was still always that hope Dack could conjure something up. Yesterday I didnt have any confidence in a single player on the pitch doing so. It says it all that the closest we really came was Adarabioyo with the header. -
The Mowbray in/out debate is pretty much split down the middle of the fan base at present, I don't mean just on here but the impression I'm getting from fans at the games and speaking to them. The majority of the IN camp will defend him tirelessly. They respect the job he's done in difficult circumstances with nobhead owners and meddling behind the scenes. They will struggle to list many realistic replacements who can come in and do a better job and the fear of the unknown plays on their mind. The majority of the OUT camp refuse to see any good in anything that Mowbray now does. Their mind is completely made up and they blame the guy for literally everything bad. Cold pies? Mowbray out. Piss weak pints of fosters? Mowbray out. They will attempt to force this opinion on everyone, they will refuse to be questioned and if you do so you're a happy clapper or have your head in the clouds. On a couple of occasions yesterday the difference of opinion was on the verge of breaking out into scuffles. There is a real toxic feel to our fan base at present. Theres no unity amongst supporters anymore, are we in this together? Are we shite. This feeling by the way is as much to do with our pathetic home attendances as waggot tax or anything else, its not an enjoyable team to support at present AT ALL. Let's be honest it's pretty much been this way since that lot took over, the manager ultimately gets the brunt of the anger though. For the record I'm not entirely sure which camp I sit in, perhaps falling somewhere in the middle as I get both sides of the argument. The biggest worry, by far, is trusting the powers that be to bring in a suitable replacement if it came to that. That replacement also needs to realise the difficulties they face behind the scenes, I simply could not see someone in the Warnock mould tolerating the owners for one minute! For which reason it would need to be a nice chap like Tony, struggling to think of many who could step in. It would probably need to be a younger fella in the Lee Johnson or Joey Barton bracket or someone making the step up from the lower tiers. Of course this comes with a huge element of risk, look no further than the Nathan Jones appointment.

People on here have suggested Dack be dropped previously too...... Life after Dack, albeit a temporary one is proving to be very tough. Literally not one player on that pitch yesterday looked like popping up with a moment of magic like Dack often could even when we were playing garbage. It's like the entire team have gone on a massive downer in his absence too, almost as if they've given up because we know he's not there to bail us out. What the answer is I honestly have no idea, especially with no pennies available. -

It's not really fair to judge him on a 15 minute cameo in a frustrating game when he hasn't played first team football for so bloody long, for reasons only TM must know. No he wasn't great at all but certainly not as bad as some on that pitch. He's probably set to be banished back to the u23s now though.
