v Luton Town (h) - 1/5/23

It's alright going on about form etc but the truth is we should have more point on the board and have had shocking luck. Should have been 3 points vs Cov but for a handball equaliser Should have had a penalty vs Dingles Should have held our nerve vs PNE Could easily have been 1 or 2 up today and Szmodics could have brought the roof off Ewood but for the bar. It's not like we're playing horrendous. Sadly Preston will definitely not do us any favours at all so it's over now for me. -

Needs an Adam Armstrong style shoot on sight strategy tonight. Some will end up in row Z but surely we can at least manage a few on target. -
Off the top of my head, I think for away sales this season, a season ticket has only really been beneficial for Burnley away (and even then it was a ball ache without 1875 membership), it made Sheff Utd in the cup easier but didn't we still make open sale then too? Back in the day it was pretty much a must have if you wanted to go a number of games, christ we had to fill application forms out for Blackpool away didn't we?

I don't think it's easier to get to at all? They did it there because Greg openly admitted he wanted to take Lewis for some 'nice food' in case he was hungry, almost like a weird first date when he was recalling it 🤨 -

Yep you're right, I can't believe Keane has lasted this long to be honest! Only a matter of time before he tells a woman pundit to feck off and do the dishes and he'll be gone 🤣 -
No strictly PL but Souness leaving Sky now too, may as well pull the plug. Him and Jeff going is a major blow. Great no nonsense pundit, and to this day my favourite Rovers manager, yes that includes Dalglish....

Dolan wants to sit and watch Benson videos for a week. He's exactly the player he should aspire to be. I remember watching a raw Benson and he was exactly like Dolan is now, and wasteful. He was new to the league, he adapted. That's as much credit as I'll ever give to a dingle and I'm going for a lie down. -

Would be a fitting swansong for him if he scored a crucial goal. I'd like to think Carter and Phillips have picked up on some of his qualities in training, nobody can question he can defend. -

The way JDT is advertising Ayala being fit, I think he might play him up top tomorrow 🤔 Nah he won't but he's easily our biggest goal threat on corners so if it's getting late and we need a goal get him on! -

I'd be rolling a Leonard shaped dice, at least till half time and see how he gets on. He's got to be in better condition than Dack given his regular game time for the 21's. Its a bit of a risk after Vale failed to impress but for every Vale there's a Rooney. Exactly what did Vale injure by the way? Seems to have been out for ages and nowhere near a return? -
We've got one of the most divided fan bases around on top of everything else already mentioned, and it stems from the Venkys era. When protests etc were taking place the atmosphere was utterly toxic on many occasions, scuffles were common. I honestly don't think we've properly recovered either. Some have fucked it off completely as a result, then we're left with people like M_B and my dad who will get a season ticket every year regardless, hats off to those people too. There's rarely a feeling of togetherness at Ewood if you ask me, although Tuesday night showed it can happen on occasion. I've no doubts whatsoever that new owners and a fresh start would have a positive impact on attendances. Chances of it happening are slim.

Bit of a none story - literally every game you go to there's a few people trying to start a chant, when it flops completely its usually because people don't agree with it, or its a bit cringey. -
The weekend only idea is good in principle, BUT when sky are pissing about with our fixtures even that becomes a bit pointless in the championship. I really struggle to make midweek games, most of the ones I've been to this season have involved time off work. Lots of us have busy lives with work and childcare etc, my girls have extra activities pretty much every night, acting, brownies, swimming and they ain't old enough to make their own ways there and back! A 10 game ticket would probably appeal, pay a flat fee then pick 10 games throughout the course of the season, obviously wouldn't have the same seat each time but there's plenty to pick from. Extra games if required mean tickets are available to purchase at a slightly lower price.

Even if we won it, it's very difficult to imagine all the other games before us having favourable results I'm afraid. Too little, too late now. Really fecking annoying it's on the Monday too although I suppose the extra rest may be beneficial. He's got to play Leonard for me, just give him at least the first half and see how he gets on. With our fantastic administrative team and their inability to sort paperwork, he might be 1 of our only 2 strikers next season anyway so there's nothing to lose. -
Why do you bother obsessing over a Rovers messageboard anyway? Can't think of anything worse than signing up to your shite 🤣

It hurts obviously, but it hurts a hell of a lot less than at their place, because the players gave it their all, hence the applause at the end. I'm genuinely worried a big team is going to come in for Adam Wharton, anyone who follows football can see he's an outstanding footballer and will go to the very top. Maybe that's been the masterplan all along from JDT, to keep him out of the limelight most of the season 🤔 As an aside, I've not sat in the Riverside for a good few years till last night, was absolutely shocked to see the state of some of it. The metal stairs looks like they're not far off being declared dangerous they're in such a poor state of disrepair. -

I'm perhaps not as deflated as I should be, they gave it their all lads but just wasn't to be. We're so overdue a bit of luck it's unreal! Honestly if they sell Sam Szmodics pyjamas I'd get some, he's really shutting some idiots on here up and is such an important player now. That Hedges miss might well go down in my brain in the same category as Pedersen at Old Trafford though it was horrific. -

Dolan and Gallagher both had good records vs Preston if they play. Agree with BankEnd Rover, Thomas made a positive impact when he arrived so not sure why he's not getting more starts unless he can't be arsed in training. -
James Gardner, allegedly of course
