So we were 3rd at this stage last season I think after a dogshit 0-0 against Huddersfield. Were we better than season? I would say probably yes up to now although cracks were appearing. We went on to lose another 10 games, won 6, and drew 5. The way this season is going i think that would even be enough to stagger into the play offs 😳 Crunch time now though and there's a few teams below us that surely will pick the points up. Interesting transfer window coming up, if I'm honest I expect a poor one though like last season.... -

Looked like a Glute strain the JRC injury, if so at least a few weeks out. -

All you'll get from JDT is "ask Greg" Looks like Khadra is done at Sheff Utd and presumably will be available to someone else on loan. I think I'd be open to him, we lack pace a lot of the time. PNE are desperate to sign Archer on loan, surely he'd pick us over that shower? Exactly the player we need, one of anyway. -

I was thinking the same on Kipre he looked like a slug and his only real input was dishing fouls out. -

If you look at their recent form grinding out 0-0 draws its no wonder it wasn't a spectacle. The defence was superb today and I was never worried about conceding, perhaps also indicative of how shite Cardiff where too. No idea who a large proportion of their players even were, it was like they were bringing random GTA characters off their bench. Dack showed glimpses again, he's getting there. Some of his passing was poor though. Gallagher was really poor just passing it back to their players for the most part. Everyone else had a decent game really IMO. Hope JRC ain't badly injured after seemingly sorting himself out. -

The go to answer when it was tough against Wigan etc was to just shout get dack on. I do believe he's looking a lot sharper lately tbf, our our fans don't half scramble about for excuses and reasoning sometimes though -

Maybe frustrating to some but I thought taking Dack off was probably the right move. We were on the verge of being overrun in the middle of the park. The subs kept us in it, albeit relying on some fortune to conjur up some chances going forward. -

Whilst not the main position to fill, what's gone on with Janik Vestergaard at Leicester? Seems to just be an unused sub most weeks? Someone I really rated at Southampton and would be a belting loan signings if someone could persuade them to let him go. -

Part of the reason we played well first half against Boro is because they came to attack. Cardiff won't attack like that and won't offer the space in behind. Can see this being a horrendous game, as yet I'm still undecided if I'll go (I probably will as I'll still be half cut and my judgement inpaired) -

Reel it in. Our recruitment department is a set of misfits we've plucked off LinkedIn or via adverts on indeed, or friends of friends. Rotten to the core this club. -

Did anyone read the feature on the official site regarding the alleged brains behind the team, the scouting etc? I'd suggest you don't if you want to remain positive for our transfer window. I'm saying no more or I'll come across as a judgemental so and so. But our future doesn't appear to be in very capable hands behind the scenes. -

If they're not, then why not? It's pretty obvious that the place was a holiday camp under Mowbray, has JDT tried to change that and upset some? If so then tough shit, it needed to happen and it says more about the players than the manager. Listening to Szmodics on the commentary last night though it doesn't appear that the players are rebelling against the new regime on that front. He could of course be talking shit, OR he views things differently because he wasn't part of the lemon drizzle revolution. Do they disagree with the tactics? Quite possible, but it's been mentioned that he values their input, talk of presentations after a defeat to receive feedback on what went wrong etc. Or is he just blindly ignoring the feedback and insisting he knows best? When a manager loses the dressing room you usually see a few things. Suspicious 'injuries' when players can't really be arsed. We have a few injuries at present but they do seem legit. You tend to see petulant behaviour too, much like we saw from Buckley last night. You'd expect him to be happy about being recalled to the team and not acting like a child. The jury is out I guess on the players interpretation of the manager..... -

I'm not even pro JDT at this stage but last night they pretty much held their own second half when they could easily have been battered after going down to 10. The game plan was working, we were practically going toe to toe 4-2-4 with Boro and we were edging it. The tactics went completely out the window after the red and we switched to 4-4-1. It nullified Boro for the most part, their goal aside, which in fairness was a good goal. What it also did was destroy our attacking impetus. The lack of a plan B or willingness to adapt continues to be a massive flaw for JDT. Whether it was a red card or not is up for debate, what's unquestionable though is that the red card ultimately changed the game. -

Not really sure how you jump to that conclusion. Yes they scored early in the second half but no way we were dead and buried at that point. In fact the only stat Boro really came out on top on was they had more possession, oh and corners. -

Sunderland will be nowhere near the play offs for Christ's sake. People really ought to stop looking at the league table for a while. I'd be amazed if the top 2 change all season. The next 4 positions most certainly will! Being 3rd in December means absolutely fuck all, fortunately for JDT it's saving him from more stick than he's already getting though. -

JRC had another good game tonight I think. Its been a testing few weeks but that's been a major positive. -

Well that was beyond frustrating. A great first half which rapidly went downhill. Morton again was far too weak for the goal and showed little desire to make amends. Hugely down to the officials. Ironically not long before, Szmodics was talking about how a lot of referees are sound and enjoy a bit of banter, but some want to shift the attention to themselves and they're the bad ones. We got one of them tonight! Not defending Buckley for one minute, but no way on this planet was that a red card offence. As an aside, Szmodics also said the Spain break was like a lads holiday, make of that what you will after watching the Preston game that followed! -

If we're to ever get near the prem again in the next 10 years we quite simply need to utilise the loan market. Forest would have been nowhere near promotion last season without their loanees. We've had a few good ones in the past few seasons but still fell way short. Which ultimately means Greg needs to shape up, his first few loan signings have been garbage for the most part. Mola and Hirst both struck me as being panic signings late on and neither has inspired whatsoever. Morton in fairness shows spells of looking quality but it's usually when we're on top in games, otherwise he has a tendency to go missing. The type of player I'd say we miss above anything else is a bit of a prick in the Joey Barton mould, we're far too nicey nicey. Nobody immediately springs to mind but I'm not paid handsomely to think of such players like our DOF is. Over to you Greg. -

Well we'll still be in the top 6 (just) regardless tonight, so the stock response of "look where we are in the league" despite the tripe being served up will live on a bit longer yet. It really is baffling how we're 3rd as things stand, you'd imagine not for much longer though as others pick up the pace for the business end of the season. If BBD is carrying a knock as reported then he won't play, inclined to think he just wants a bit of time out of the limelight though. I suppose one things we have in our favour is our recent head to head record with Boro, they must have playing us. On the flip side Sam Gallagher loves playing against then. Based on this I'm going for a 1 nil home win, Gallagher the scorer from the edge of the box. -

I think the only good thing about yesterday was the fact they sold whisky in the bar, a rare treat at a football ground. Utter crap served up again by the team, they were equally as bad which made losing even worse. Sky must surely realise they've fucked up keep showing our games, I'm struggling to watch them so god help any neutrals who tune in. -

There's around 2k of us making the trip, that's excellent given the circumstances. Had it been a 3pm kick off I've no doubts it would have been sold out. It is what it is though, at least we'll be back on home soil a bit earlier, albeit half cut 🥴 -

A lot of us are taking it easy on Xmas Day because we've got an early start boxing day (thanks again Sky). Now that won't be so bad if we put in a shift and get a win. If we roll over again though you're gonna have one hell of a pissed off away end! As always the brief is obvious, score first.
