  1. Hell fire Jim a lots changed since 2002! The cup has been completely devalued. Its essentially a competition for reserves teams for the most part until teams start thinking they have have a chance of winning it. Even the FA cup has lost a lot of its magic but I'd still MUCH prefer a good run in that. I didn't want to lose last night as I never do but it's not particularly distressing to me that we're out.
  2. It's done nothing whatsoever to change my opinion, I wanted the clown out before and I still want him out now. I just couldn't care less about going out of the fake red bull cup.
  3. Amazed how bothered people are about this game, the attendance suggested otherwise! Glad to be out of the joke cup to be honest especially with our threadbare squad. Admittedly shouldn't be losing to Morecombe with that lineup though, most teams made many changes for it.
  4. Imagine doing business the Southampton way. Bid accepted Monday, by Tuesday afternoon Armstrongs medical all done and dusted and parading around in his new teams kit doing kick abouts for the press. Meanwhile we're bumbling about doing god knows what behind the scenes with literally nothing to show for it yet.
  5. The fee will be undisclosed anyway
  6. I known they can't force him but the worry is that it would be a reluctant move rather one filled with enthusiasm. OR he could view it as a chance to kick-start his career, just a bit wary that's all - although struggling to think of many realistic alternatives so.....
  7. Mixed views on Obafemi tbh. If he's being used purely as a make weight to bring the fee down for Southampton is his heart gonna be in it? Sounds like he might have a bit of an attitude to start with, I'd Mowbray really gonna get on with him? Despite the above we do need to strengthen though in this window 100%. When Gallagher (who I'm not even the biggest fan of) went down injured on Saturday it was worrying, we're walking far too much of a tightrope.
  8. Best of luck to Armo, really hope the next stage in his career is a successful one. I don't think he's going to be truly prolific but 12-15 goals is probably achievable. He needs to improve his finishing for sure, chances in the prem won't be anything like as numerous as last season. Then he's also got the added hindrance of VAR catching him offside.
  9. Our paper tickets didn't scan, steward was clueless and said to go the ticket office. I just climbed over it was a few minutes to 3 so couldn't be arsed with that
  10. He's had a good pre season, I'd be amazed if he's shipped out on loan now
  11. He's playing for Liverpool now in what's a strong team and basically not far off their starting 11 next week. Not sure why they'd do that if he's going out on loan as reported.
  12. Agreed, was pleasantly surprised at the atmosphere yesterday and actually can't wait for the next league game now 💙🤍
  13. I can't even tell what lager people bought for me tbh, it was shite though🤣
  14. I was being sarcastic, although he was a fraud as a footballer
  15. What a bloody day. You stay aways don't know what you're missing.
  16. They tweeted something about it not being shown as it had been selected for live overseas broadcast yesterday. Not sure if that was just for UK based subscribers or what though tbh as paid little attention!
  17. I for one will be glad to see DG back at the club he's always welcome in my eyes 💙🤍
  18. Maybe to drown out Mowbray out chants if things are going tits up
  19. I like how TM keeps going on about how good it will be to have the fans back, not so sure he will agree if things start turning sour like many expect. It's not gonna be big crowds this season but I can assure you Tony I've got a loud voice if needed and will let you know my thoughts 😁
  20. I've said all along he'd end up going the day before the season starts and that seems to be about right now. If we even bother with a replacement I'm almost certain it would be a loan move. Armstrong only became a useful player once Dack was out of the equation, all we can hope for is that we now see a similar knock on effect and either SG or Diaz take the reins. That's about as much positivity as I can muster on the subject. A low scoring (more than likely) team with a leaky defence only points to one thing sadly, buckle up folks.....
  21. Millwall tickets are out tomorrow. You really have to wonder how the hell we'd cope if there was higher levels of demand for tickets! Everything is just a complete shambles from top to bottom.
  22. I think there's far weaker teams If we stay relatively injury free
  23. I'm actually of this opinion now. IF we had any chance of a promotion bid I'd be all for loans. Since we aren't we may as well develop our own..
