  1. Our form is so alarming, our performances so poor, a 10 point gap is going to be wiped out VERY soon unless something drastically changes. Obviously I didn't want Gallagher to get injured but I must admit it MAY work in our favour depending on Mowbrays solution. Is he even arsed though? Certainly doesn't seem it. Once again viewing the match doesn't promise any excitement but I'll watch it as I feel obliged to as always. The pitch is going to be a real bog, may favour us more than them though, will the likes of Joao Pedro, Sarr and Kiko Femenia really fancy a stinking night in Lancashire?
  2. Agreed. He has to reel it in a bit or his job becomes effectively redundant. He wouldn't have much to report on if Mowbrays toys went out the pram and he was banned from attending u23 and first team games and interviews were a no go either. Unfortunately he is one of few direct routes into the club, but at the end of the day you have to respect his decision not to jeopardise his career.
  3. Its hard to tell to be honest. We probably do rate our own players higher than fans of other teams do, its normal though everyone does it. When you have a manager that's asking players to do unfamiliar jobs though it has an obvious impact. You don't ask a plumber to replace your roof, much like you shouldn't play Sam Gallagher out wide. Would be interesting to see how another manager would utilise the tools in the box if it ever happened.
  4. Ashamed to say i didn't even watch it today and to be quite honest showed a limited interest in keeping tabs on the score. Even in the Kean era I didn't feel this way. At least we had the social aspect of seeing our pals then and shouting abuse at that nob. I don't know who we play next, nor do I particularly care.
  5. Well the 5 changes part was in the head, let's hope the result is although looking at that team it's highly doubtful. I'm all for young lads playing but that defence is pretty much an u23 defence against the experience of Murray and Knockaert etc and 2 of them aren't our players. This could be a long afternoon.....
  6. How can 'they' think the supporters wouldn't get wind of this and the mad panic thats obviously ensued? Its just like another "get fucked we'll do what we want". Or was Waggott simply resigned to the fact there's just no way he could put a positive spin on this so tried to push it under the carpet? Aside from the happy clappers on Facebook nobody sees this as being a potentially positive move do they? I mean how could it be? If they had exciting plans they'd be shouting from the rooftops about it. I shouldn't be up at this time on a Saturday worrying about the club, but here I am, again!
  7. Exactly the first thing that sprang to mind for me too.
  8. Well I'll watch it purely on the basis I've decorated almost every room in my house the last few weeks, the gyms are shut and so are the pubs and it's looking set to piss down, so there's not a great deal else to do. I notice Mowbray said several players are carrying 'knocks' after the Barnsley game. The old knocks chestnut you find happen a lot when players have no interest in playing for a manager. Alas it gives him a perfect excuse to make 5 changes to the team. Its set up perfectly for us to somehow rag a win. 1-0 rovers.
  9. How the hell should we know what he's trying to do? The players don't know, the fans don't know, the press don't know 🤣 Barnsley commentary said we were lining up 442 then went on to concede they actually didn't know how we were lining up! If you look at match reports from various sources that trend continues. Baffling, pathetic, shower of shite.
  10. Not exactly brutal but it's a start!
  11. Kean wasn't sacked though, he walked because his position became 'untenable'. Much like I can't see Mowbray being sacked either his feet are that far under the table at Ewood. The issue is how do we make HIS position untenable. The biggest problem right now is does he even realise how the fans are feeling? People would have been vocal vs Preston and again last night in the ground. Does he even read social media etc? Strikes me as the type who still gets a newspaper delivered every day. A lot of other fans would also be voting with their feet too and crowds at rock bottom. Nobody wants to watch that crap. I'll probably still watch us on Saturday but it's partly cos there's fuck all else to do just now! So to me the only way is for some of the stronger willed players to really give him both barrels. Fair play Dacky last night for speaking up, hopefully the rest of them get behind him and ramp the pressure up. More likely scenario is Benno will have ordered them all a pair of Tony Mowbray pyjamas to boost morale. We could do with Rich Sharpe twisting the knife too as he regularly speaks to Mowbray. Appreciate its difficult for him though as he needs to maintain a relationship with the club or his position also becomes untenable if he's nothing to report on!
  12. We've just lost 3 games in a row, against teams below us at the start of play. We've struggled all season against better teams who are above us. The point most certainly stands, where are the points coming from!?!?!
  13. Did people notice we were late coming out at the start of the game, the ref apparently went looking for us. Barnsley commentary were suggesting maybe our players didn't fancy it. What followed suggested they were absolutely spot on. I wonder if a few players voiced opinions pre match? That's probably the most disjointed performance I can remember in some time. Either something happened or the players have just completely given up and have literally no idea what's expected of them, how they're supposed to be set up, who's playing where, basically fucking everything!
  14. It'll be sad if everyone ends up hating Mowbray but that's how it's going to end up the longer this goes on. If he were to go now we'd still have memories of the good things he's undoubtedly done. Frustrations are, quite understandably, boiling over now and I honestly don't know anyone who is happy for him to stay.
  15. Frustrations boiling over a bit maybe?
  16. If we're going to bypass midfield what's the bloody point of Downing getting a game?
  17. Well its hardly been a classic has it. TM will be happy though with that. It's pretty obvious he is setting us up to try and frustrate anyone we play first half. In fairness it's worked to an extent and we have grown into it more as the games gone on though. I'm not for one minute saying I agree with it though its turd, we're also playing Barnsley and they look shit scared of any pace. Watching it with the Barnsley commentary and they're bigging up Douglas as our MOTM, perhaps more a sign of the rest of the team doing nothing though. There'll be a few goals second half as it opens up.
  18. I'd quite like that team if Nyambe was there ahead of Bennett. Wing back is a demanding role to start with, for someone not fully fit (or very good to start with) it's possibly one of the more stupid Mowbray decisions ever. Let's hope Douglas can get some of these famous crosses in that we were promised and that Gallagher gets on the end of some if he's not playing out wide. I hope I'm wrong but struggling to see beyond a loss here.
  19. I fail to see how he's even going to develop and show his potential being used as a bit part player. On the other hand I don't think he's shown enough to command a regular spot in the team. Only option for me would be a loan spell where he can start week in week out and see how he gets on.
  20. The thing with Gallaghers passing being so dreadful is he's literally trying to play short balls through for Armstrong 9 times out of 10 and he still can't even master that. Not like he's trying to spray 40 yard passes. He just looks like a nervous schoolboy with a kick and run technique, its really poor to watch.
  21. On a similar note, you know you're shite when this is headline news in your local rag, is this to try and make the fans happy after signing absolutely nobody 🤭
  22. Of course it's true. Peoples frustration (my own included) at Mowbrays insistence on fitting Benno in the team ahead of better players who actually played that position meant he was always thrust under the microscope every game. I think I've made clear he shouldn't be playing, if Pears was getting picked over Kaminski it'd be exactly the same. We've conceded like 6 less goals this season after the same number of games and thats down to more than just Bennett not playing, Kaminski for one...... Wake up indeed.
  23. If Douglas doesn't play it might give Tony an opportunity to play his shiny new centre half from city and shove left footed Branthwaite out to left back. I'm not for one minute saying I want this to happen though.
