Rovers chief executive John Williams has confirmed that the club have made a bid for Glasgow Rangers Italian centre-half Lorenzo Amoruso. Speaking on Radio Lancashire Williams said that the club had made a bid and were hopeful it would be accepted, but that they were awaiting permission to talk to the player. The bid comes less than a week after former Fiorentina player Amoruso declared that Rangers were his life and he wanted to remain in Glasgow for the rest of his career, following an emotional final day league championship victory.

Just an update on all this. IrishRovers plan to meet up the night before the game(Tuesday) in Buskers in Temple Bar at 8pm. Anybody who is interested is more than welcome to come along. Basic plan is for everyone to meet there, get a few/a lot of drinks in and then head out to the clubs. 5-a-side football tournament to be held in Bray on the day of the game, probably starting about 12, not sure on who has confirmed yet but from what I heard, it's a couple of teams from our lot, NorthernIreland, North and South Lancs, London and anyone else who happens to show up. Anyone can enter a team, if you're interested email cookierovers@eircom.net On the day of the game, we're going to meet up in a pub around the corner from the ground, again if you want, feel free to come along. Let you know more on this when I find out.

Any book, actually better start with Gardens of the Moon or you won't have a clue what's happening, by Steven Erikson, so much better than any other author I still can't believe it. Makes Tolkien look like a mere dabbler in the depth stakes mind, so not suited for the five-minute attention span MTV generation. The Stand, by far King's best work, wonderful apocylaptic story. Remix- Jon Courtenay Grimwood, short but good, probably not one for the kiddies mind.

Dingles, Yorkshire Dingles They're the sh*ttest team in history From the town of Burnley They're about to crash into Division three. I like all you need is Duff.

Ciaran Donnelly again proved that he's one for the future by hitting a 72nd minute winner for England U19's over their Irish counterparts at Tolka Park, Dublin, last night, in a European Championship qualifier. Donnelly's fellow Blackburn U19 player, Dublin-born John Fitzgerald, was widely reported to have excelled for the hosts. Another Rover, Jerome Watt, travelled with the English party but failed to get a run-out.

Only trouble with that is, that your other good allies in Turkey won't be happy, to put it mildly.

Much better hotspot still tastes like liquified crap though.

You know Tris that's nearly right beside my college, although I'm miles away in the hospital by now.

No it won't, the US has clearly stated that a fundamentalist regime like Iran will not be allowed to take place in Iraq even if that's what the Iraqi's want. Now that's democracy.

We are also planning to get a bit of footie going around about lunchtime on the day of the game so if anyone is interested in playing or better yet can organise a team, send me a pm.

Of course you can Flopsy, but how much will the ferry cost then?

Provisional announcement ROI branch plan to hold a function after the game in Old Wesley Rugby Club in Donnybrook, which is one of the biggest nightclub/disco type locations in Dublin and also has a members bar available so we can change plans dependant on the expected volume of people. This is on the road from Dublin to Bray , and also near the DART line, and for those of you in the Raddisson its only just down the road. We are going to try to get some of the players to stop by for a while too. Basically what it is going to be is one giant @#/?-up, and you are all invited. We wouldn't all fit in Donovans, Groo. No idea Colin, there are a lot of pubs near Heuston(it is Ireland after all), and what are snugs? Pub opening times officially are like Groo says, but the likelyhood is that they will probably stay open till about 3 or so if there is a big crowd, and we aren't going to shut down our function until nobody is left standing

Well you definitely can't trust the Northern lot, Temple Bar is not off O'Connell St, its off Westmoreland St, which is the one that runs between O'Connell St and Trinity College. Alcohol in Ireland is ridiculously expensive btw. You can say that again, hope nobody is of a nervous disposition regarding heights or overhanging cliffs. Might be pretty normal actually, I know BusEireann ran a normal service on Good Friday so I imagine they might do the same on a bank holiday, else things will be on Sunday services which means you'll still be able to get around, you just wouldn't want to be trying to cram in different locations. I'm not that enamoured with Temple Bar, as Bob says, its very commercialised , but I suppose if you've got the cash to spare it'll be worth it.

I'm definately not rich! Just thought it was too good an opportunity to miss. It's costing me £240 for 6 nights in a five star hotel - not often you can stay in a 5 star hotel for £40 a night. I'm not taking my car though - the ferries cost a fortune - so I will be getting the Dart to Bray. I've never been to Ireland before so I'm really looking forward to it. Well now, just make sure you go outside Dublin during your six days, and see the real Ireland. I think it does have a golf course, but I don't play so not sure. Good price you guys got, I had no idea you could stay there for that low a charge, it is a really nice place. Still twice what I would consider affordable, but then I'm a skiving soap-dodging student who generally ends up in B&B's. Flposy, I don't think the ferry ever costs that much when the Irish Rovers go over, you probably need to find a few people willing to share the cost of the car, fool them into thinking its cheaper to go with you than as foot-passengers. :'>

On the Stillorgan Road? I guess we now know who the rich members of the messageboard are. If either of you is bringing a car its easy enough to drive to Bray from there. Oh and its in Dublin, 3 miles south of the city centre I'd say.

Well that's just rubbish, whether or not there are WMD or not is the worst justification for a war IMO. Which bits rubbish, doc? The argument that a WMD discovery would justify the war as opposed to anything else. War was justified, but the not because of the prescence or not of WMD, because Saddam slaughtered most of the population of Najaf with chemical/biological weapons because some of them had the cheek to rise up against him, sure, but if he had done the same with conventional weapons that would be just as bad. There are a lot of countries out there who have nuclear weapons never mind chemical/biological ones, who are more likely to use them/supply them to terrorists than Saddam was, and he didn't even have any so it seems.

Bloody part-timers. I didn't even get to the Pats game, as I didn't know about it. Stay in Dublin by the way. I'm sure we'll see you all around for the game, maybe even organise a meet-up. Any questions anybody has about Dublin you can ask me, but I know b***er all about Bray as I have never been to a game or on a night out there.

I trust you mean CC, because our rivals are going, going, hopefully soon to be gone. Just in time for Accy's comeback too.
-
Yes we did, quite a success record for games most of us have been to this season, maybe Rovers will sponser us to get over for the crunch games. :'>

The atmosphere at Arsenal was good because we were beating the best team in England, if we could do that every week it would solve the problem, don't see anything else doing it though.

If anybody needs me I'll be flogging a dead horse. Even get into em is better than that, ask Jordan, even with the creation of good new songs Ewood will always be deathly quiet. And what is the point of copying other peoples songs? It's more than a little sad, lets have Damien Duff, Damien Duff running down the wing, or Gr-e-s-ko Gr-e-s-ko and we'll look like right pr*ts, brilliant.

Are you trying to increase your post count or just as lazy as me?
