  1. Matty Probably same 5 for me except i d put carling final ahead of the promotion game and perhaps the dingle FA replay ( just for best ever atmosphere at modern ewood ) ahead of the 0 to 2 game

  5. American used to go to the original chicago rib in knightsbridge....been to the new one as above ( 18 months old ) its ok but wont be there long as the rent is so high they are losing money..they get their meat from a farm in wiltshire owned by Jody Scheckter ( not sure on spelling ) the ex F1 driver Just had lunch at cha cha moon, ganton street , off carnaby street, high quality pan asain cuisine at low prices...very quick service, your international crowd will love it
  6. Tris - we agree on a lot but no on this FACTS as I see it; Since the Chelsea saga - he has been taking his money and not been 100% focused professional Only him ( not the manager ) has returned unfit and over weight every season since Yes he is our most talented player when 100%, but for 2 years we have just had the odd moment He clearly knows that he can at 32 yrs get more money in the bright lights and sort out his retirement Ideally would i like a fit motivated benni yes - reality he has nt indicated to this manager or the previous he has any intention to do that Save his wage and get in someone else ie Eider from Monaco It is the curse of the modern day footballer which is why I and many others think why should we pay hard earned money to support these egotistical, its all about me, no loyalty, brain dead guys anymore....Attendances will drop and hopefully the bubble will burst soon Lets get back to rules of 8 englishmen per team and local lads playing for their local teams
  7. I wrote about it in May a couple of pages back ...good experience
  8. WhittleBlue - you re welcome glad you enjoyed it
  9. CLB proud to say been in every one of those pubs many times being brought up in the Ribble valley, you may wish to do Lower Buck and Waddington Arms in Waddinton rather than the Higher Buck!! Re your pre Trip, between 1975 and 1990 the talbot was the number 1 pub in Chipping, but once Wilf and Marie left the Sun took over Enjoy
  10. Tris Im a bit biased as I lived in Whitewell for 5 years, so knew the Inn in its old days and was even there when during a storm the kitchen subsided and collapsed into the river. My brother had his 21st there and I had my wedding there in the church next door and reception in the dining room, 6 years ago before the recent refurb, so the place holds many a memory for me Personally think its great and a majical spot to rival anything the Yorkshire Dales can throw at us
  11. Got to say Red Pump was excellent , their venison raviolli starter was superb...Also a great pint of Black Sheep..higly recommended
  12. spoke to someone in London last night who d been to the Red Pump and said food was fairly good Booked for Saturday night as I m up for Tugays farewell
  13. The man who cost us the 2002 world cup Seaman
  14. In my opinion the new BRASSERIE CHEZ GERARD opposite the town hall in Albert square best meal i ve had in manchester Cafe Rouge, Bella Italia, Picolino etc all pretty avergae chain food Livebait is good but Brasserie Chez Gerard the best at not bad prices
  15. Seems like yesterday.. was on the terrace Nuttall street, there were about 12 lads in front of me who did not cheer when the first goal went in, the steward clocked them and a police man walked them through the red gate in the fence and off to the darwen end...2 of them stayed on avoiding the police and looked well glum by the end!
  16. I was at the 4 - o Carlisle game, walked it from town centre, and stood on the riverside.. Not often we scored 4 at home so a real rare occasion
  17. Gutted given my season ticket away tomorrow as at Twickenham for Eng v Scotland, hope Dunny 's receptioin surpasses Matt jansen's on scoring the winner v Pompey in Hughes's first game
  18. I agree with both Spencey and Jan on different points Todd is a good player , but as Spencey says, gets caught out a lot due to lack of pace and on more than a couple of occasions his discipline has cost us. Him and nelsen were the best pairing last year but then Zurab found form last season and rightly dislodged Todd. Todd started this season poorly As Jan says Todd is our best distributor of the ball Personally prefer Todd to Henchoz, yet saying that have nt seen henchoz have a bad game for us, what he lacks in pace positionally & reading the game makes up for it. Admittedly I missed the Chelsea game Nelsen with oojer is probably number 1 , then Zurab then Todd or Henchoz After he came back in the side post xmas Todd has been good but obvoiusly something with hughes has happened, I quized Todd in the Sheraton in Krakow and he diplomatically said he was working hrad to get back in the team Always feel save with him as captain but not sure we would win any honours with his lapses
  19. Welcome back Dunny...Hughesy will take a few months to get him fit and firing but long term replacement for Tugay could be solved and also on the left when gamst has another 14 game bad spell!! Great boost for the club and supporteres especially as half his fee is based on appearances
  20. I've got that brochure too!! priceless
  21. Heard about The Fernhurst. Didn't Utd "fans" kick off in there or just outside before their most recent visit? With it being Bonfire night, they built a bonfire while singing their build a bonfire song putting city on the top etc.. Then set fire to the bonfire, so yes it kicked off, according to my CID friend.. Once red scum always red scum.. Being my nearest premier league ground looking forward to a 1-0 rovers win with the royals returning to coca cola football and a drop back down to earth
  22. My signature says it all.....3 - 0 at Palarse!!!! But also a new one.. Villa 1 - 0 Rovers 1979/80 FA Cup 5th round replay We were in the old 3rd division, villa soon to be European Champions, 1 to 1 at home on the Saturday the old riverside stand shaking with noise and then despite 5,000 away fans getting beat at villa listening to the game aged 9 on a portable radio with the great commentator Jones on the old Radio 2 Guttted!!!!!!!!
  23. Jan 100% agree..its us poor fouls on the motorway at 1am people should feel sorry for not the cant be bothered brigade because its November, Thursday, cold and £15...where's the passion!
  24. Nice to see a former chelsea rent boy score against his former pimps.. They played well tonight, like to see Deco on a rugby field being trampled on then he would have something to roll about for... Too many softies ruining the game
