[Archived] The Worst Ever Rovers Player?
berkshireblue replied to FourLaneBlue's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
I assume also that CirenRover is joking when mentioning Gordon Cowans, he was very pivotal when we came up... Jimmy Quinn was a sensation at the start I remember an FA CUP run when he scored twice away at Swindon after we were 1 - 0 down at half time, the door on our mini bus was ripped off when we were in a tarffic jam after the match ...but thats another story...The mighty Quinn also has a feature on Football Focus for us form when we were unfashionable and never mentioned in the press!! John Lowey was OK.. David Hamilton was OK also BUt for 7 million Grabbi's display at Boxing Day against Sunderland was the worst ever in a rovers shirt!! Though Jay tried to match it against the Dingles.. Dailly was pants as was John Butcher, bu then I once saw him have a blinder at deepdale in the Anglo Scottish Joey Craig was also carp! -
Arsenal 3 v 0 Rovers - Cup Semi Final
berkshireblue replied to Nuclearsox's topic in Messageboard Gold
The count down has begun, with our 2nd half ###### take of the scummers yesterday... Table booked for Cheltenham Friday night for 7 allowing a gunner to join us and Cardiff 11am Saturday.... Beer and then more Beer... Game kicks off 0 - 0 half time would be a great result for us and then MGP or Stead to strike the winner...all the whingers would be wishing they were there but the hard core will outsing the library.... 1 - 0 to ROVERS but Emerton must start ahead of Tommo , with 1 forward you need speed on the flanks to support the lone striker.. 1 - 0 to the Rovers 1- 0 to the Rovers We shall not be moved -
Lee Thanks for the update...All round very disappointing, especially as days like cup semi finals come around once a lifetime and we live for these occasions.... OUT of interest DO you think the club can do more or are planning to do more over the coming week to drum up sales?... You may ask what can they do? I dont know but with all the negativity we need a week of positive press and publicity... Front page of LET - First semi for 40 years - tickets on general sale...Support your team... Lets think out of the BOX Take the ticket office mobile - 1 day in Blackburn, 1 day in Clitheroe, 1 day in Accy, 1 day in Great Harwood go to the people... WE NEED TO CONVINCE THE SUPPORTERS THIS IS ONCE IN A LIFETIME AND THEY ARE MISSING OUT Views?

Gav A beer it is then! I cant believe all these whingers saying it is the Club's fault...the ticket selling policy is spot on the only mistake in hindsight would have been to put the season ticket sales only for a shorter time ie 5 days and then general sales...but its not the club's fault if the ticket sales are crap!!!... If you can compromise your disposable income spending on other activities to afford it ( totally understand people like Tooting Rover who cant ..) and really support rovers then an early start, lots of travelling mean nothing ITS THE FA CUP SEMI FOR GODS SAKE...any fan who says they are not going for any other reason than financial should be ashamed...AND I HAVE SAID THAT TO SOME MATES WHO WERE INDECISIVE AND ARE NOW COMING I PROPOSE THIS THREAD FROM NOW ON SHOULD BE ABOUT THECRACK AND EXCITEMENT OF AN FA CUP SEMI , LIVING THE DREAM... NOT EXCUSES AND FINGER POINTING ON WHY PEOPLE ARENT ATTENDING... Yawn Yawn Uncle Jack would be truning in his grave

nellyBC Gloucester to Newport 1 1/2 hours max... Cant believe the slagging off of ticket sales has started so early, until they go on open sales to anyone with a buying record we aren't going to shift over 10K.. Once it does we will have over 20,000 there, i I will bet anyone on this board a beer we sell over 20,000 any takers?
-
Confident we will sell plenty, there is no rush unlike other games.. 6 of us going with season tickets not got them yet will tomorrow...I am sure we will sell at least 25k.. Only danger is that people waiting post April 2nd will not have organised transport and accomm and may give up on the idea

The player whose won everything has me baffled Has to be at Utd, Arsenal or Us to qualify and must be French Arsenal have not won the league cup for ages and utd only have Cantona, Barthez or Silvestre French but none of them have won everything, unless he is French and won Champions league and Premiership elsewhere and the rest with Chelsea?? Petit is not right so fairly stuck,, -

Gav Have to agree Tris is a comic genius in the making and wasted @ Diageo!! Cirencester - How many you putting up for B&B? In terms of trains from Cheltenham, have to go via Gloucester but not sure of the route from Gloucester to Cardiff..
-
Cardiff Bay is not a pub crawl session venue but plenty of choice of bars & restaurants...
-
Cardiff Bay has been totally redeveloped, try one of the bars & restaurants Old Orleans there if you want a good bit of grub...

A simple solution this Bristol moaning is tedious:- 1) Book Stu's bus or 2) Cancel rooms in Bristol, no hotel can charge with this much notice..and book on a different line as Ricky suggested or 3) Stay in Cardiff on the Friday night or surrounding areas or 4) All the moaners hire a mini bus and travel direct from Lancs to cardiff Frustrating and FA f**k up but lets move on and talk about the semi instead of Bristol please..
-
If you dont fancy Bristol..Cheltenham is a good night out and town.. About 6 of us staying there on the Friday... Time to forget all the negative and get 30,000 rovers fans to Cardiff to cheer on the team to the clean sweep of domestic trophies in the last 10 years now thats a thought for the big clubs!!! WE SHALL NOT BE MOVED...

A Rovers Win... 2 - 0 Stead and Reid would do nicely.... Have we shifted more than 12,000 tickets yet? I see the office is open Sunday do you still have to be on the database or will I have East Midland muppets sat near me? Either way a Rovers win and Wanky W's in the semi with NUFC v MUFC in the other my prediction... -
THe1MattJansen If you have been to 4 away games you should have got them Monday - Your fault not the clubs OnePost There are 10k season ticket holders and only 4k tickets, so bound to be disappointed people - nit the club's fault could not have done it fairer.. I am a season ticket holder who travels from Gloucs, been at Ewood since 1975 and gates of 5,000, went to Celtic etc..could not get a Burnley ticket but not blaming the club - I'm unlucky But worse things could happen in life so I'll watch in the pub Replay March 1st for those interested
-
Forecast this one and cant wait.....knew I bought a season ticket for some reason.. This will be live on TV and sold out...will we have to Bus in and out again? Cmon

[Archived] Who Allowed The F.A. Cup To Die
berkshireblue replied to den's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
i've been to Cardiff before and it is a time warp in terms of hospitality.. My serious advice, dont wear colours and keep your head down.. Irrespective of us not having a large hooligan following, for the dim wits from the self proclaimed roughest council estate in Europe, they will see any fan as game, English and from the premiership and more than likely take a pop before asking questions... In terms of the FA Cup I believe some of the old magic is returning and it will intensify once Wembley is rebuilt!! 1-0 win to us and then the dingles in round 4, for more crash helmet fun!! -
Mark Hughes or Mike Newell for me please... Houllier - a backward step McCarthy - relegation time Reid - No thanks Jewell - bit like Keegan good at getting promotion, but no top flight pedigree Strachan - perhaps but if he does well off he goes to Scotland!! I believe its Mark Hughes but at present deciding on Welsh job half done, the decision is his..
-
Have to agree with ArrodBlue and Blackburnender Hendry - Show us your bum - bleads blue and white Garner - No need to say anything... then either:- Speedie Keeley Shearer Atkins Genoe Berg the list is endless, and for his 1994/5 season SHerwood would have to be there!!! Personally I would say the 3rd had to be:- Speedie
