[Archived] Mancs V Rovers Carling Cup Second Leg
Rover4ever replied to philipl's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Seeing the handball again, after it strikes Zurabs arm Ruud barges in and touches the ball himself with his hand , wonder what that would mean if it was a normal referee, not Poll. If you try to catch his lips after he gives the penalty, he seems to be telling Neill and Nelsen "I dont care son, this is Old Trafford, and I just cant let a small town team beat them here. Sir Alex & the media will never forgive me for that" -

Lets not forget that the "weak midfield" of Giggs, O shea, Fletcher & richardson kept Liverpools midfield at bay. -

I feel sorry for Souness as well. In all fairness, how would we have performed if Tugay, Nelsen, Savage, Reid, Neil and Bellamy suffered long-term injuries? They have also been hard done by referees more than once this season. However all said, we deserved this result specially considering what happened at Ewood earlier in the season. -

I cant believe this! No, Rovers didnt sign Henry, nor did Savage cut his hair..... Lawro has predicted us to win!! I will have to go for a 2-1 loss, now that Lawro has actually predicted that Btw, Bentley is injured according to BBC -
Sometimes i think refereeing is the only profession where inept performance is never ever punished, unless of course a refereee fails to send off a Blackburn player, which is an act deserving of a permanent ban from refereeing.
-
Sky's commentary was pretty biased against us as well. Savage was slated for the whole of the first half. Nakata got send off because he "wasnt used to the tactics that teams like Blackburn use", and Bentley was trying to get Campo sent off. Anyone else thought it should have been Ben-Haim off instead of Nakata?

Apart from his wayward shots, Reid was our best player. He was comfortable on the ball, made a number of bursting runs, as well as some incisive passes. Todd's tackles on Jansen and Davies in the last 10 minutes were absolutely crucial
-
For once, a decision terribly unfair on Manure. That was nothing close to a red card, given what Gerrard, Shearer, and Smith get away with. Some referees simply cant tolerate non-English players tackling anyone.
-
For some reason he has never really performed against us, all the more surprising given that we never played with pacy left backs against him (either Matteo or Gray)
-
about the Savage incident, what it should have been was a Red for Smith, and yellos for Rooney and Savage. However, given refereeing bias over the past few weeks, it could very easily have been a red for Savage with a routine slaughtering by next day's papaers, and only a yellow for Smith. Stiles' decision was fair more or less

I think the fight was with his son's step-dad.

Bellamy, Nelsen, and one from Tugay/Savage all need some rest for the Man U game. Kuqi/Dickov are doing a fine job so far and theres no need to risk Bellamy getting a hamstring problem after 20 minutes. -

Hahahaha, http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/fa_cup/4585398.stm "Blackburn have been going so well in the league after an indifferent run but I think it might be a bit sticky for them, plus I just cant see where the goals are going to come from Ok ok, I made up the bit in italics -

Same story 3000 miles away here in the UAE They will show just ONE Rovers game in January (against Bolton). Compare that to 5 for Spurs and 4 for Birmingham ..... And the funny thing is that they will not show oru games in spite of there being no time conflicts (as in today) -

Its factually correct. Its the term used (pakis), which many find offensive. I believe "Paki" is generally used in a derogatory way similar to "N*****" -

What a win! Best result so far along with the win at Old trafford, and against Charlton. Wigan were on a real run having beaten a number of upper half teams. Then again, we only won due to Sven Goran Eriksson ! Perhaps England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson does have something to answer for as a buoyant, bubbly Blackburn won 3-0 against a weary Wigan at the JJB Stadium. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/report?id=185201&cc=4716 -

Thats one reason why you cant easily access a sort of archive where all of Lawro's predictions for a particular season are stored. Instead as soon as the games are over, the predictions are removed from quick access. Seeing them all at one place would only make him look like an absolute fool, with Blackburn bottom of the league. -
Lawrenson is a biased idiot. Just hear him commenting in any Liverpool game, apart from that he has a pathological hatred of Everton and Blackburn. I am sure he will never answer any question which points at his ridiculous predictions for us.

[Archived] Savage Bad Press
Rover4ever replied to ihateburnley's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
I never approved of Savage's role as a WUM, nor of Todd's thuggery. However, those who think the Press dislike us only because of Savage are wrong. Ever since 1995, the Press have disliked us for spoiling the party and not allowing Manu u to win the title. -
Bellamy by couple of yards. For that matter, i always wished to see Henry, SWP, Bellamy, Rommedahl, and Ronaldo run 100 yards

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/t...tic/4526940.stm Off to Celtic then..... Does anyone look good enough in Celtic's midfield to bring to Ewood during January?

Anyone else felt Carroll would have been sent off for his lunge, if he played for us? Apart from that Riley was fair considering his repuration, he did miss Zurab's atrocious dive though! Kuqi's goal was a typical "battering ram" performance, thats what he is good at, you cant expet him to make a 100 stepovers every game, he holds the ball well, and he causes havoc in the penalty area with his direct physical running On a side note, Shearer was punching, kicking, diving in with 2 legs at Arsenal throughout todays game, yet he escaped as much as a booking until the last minute. Are referees actually scared of people like Keane and Shearer? No fan of the whingers but Gallagher was absolutely determined in helping Newcastle as much as he could. Did i mention Gilberto got sent off for 2 ordinary fouls?
