  1. There was consensus that this signing would be a game changer when it comes to our ambitions for the coming season. Absolutely criminal from Waggot et al.
  2. Sounds like the lad wanted to come initially but we dragged our feet over a few hundred K and a better offer came in. I really thought the asking price was very reasonable. He’s going to a good club and it shows he is probably very decent if Marseille are interested. You’d think if you are in a position where a player you really rate is willing to sign and they are not far apart on the asking price, then you move heaven and earth to get it over the line. If the player is actually decent then a bigger team will always come in. Complete mismanagement as usual.
  3. I wouldn’t be surprised if we are looking at Karamoko Dembele. It would make a lot more sense than signing his brother Siriki given his potential resale value and likely lower wage demands. He is rapid and we are crying out for some pace!
  4. Quite happy with Pears as a backup keeper. It’s about his level.
  5. In the comments section of Nicko’s Patreon story re De Lange he is suggesting this has progressed quickly and he expects him to sign.
  6. I think having a confident keeper marshalling the defenders would really help eradicate the errors. Knowing there’s a good chance any mistakes will be mopped up by the keeper allows them to play with a little more freedom. The same back 4 were much better with Kaminski!
  7. Would absolutely advocate for spending any available funds on a good keeper. Would make the world of difference to our prospects. Pears is not good enough. No idea if these Dutch keepers are any good but pleased to see that they are looking at keepers.
  8. Jeffrey de Lange a keeper according to Nixon.
  9. I’ve always liked Weimann so really chuffed with that signing. Plenty of experience now which we have been crying out for! Should be fit having been at the Euros with Austria.
  10. Given our current financial plight, we invested a fair bit in Connor. I’m assuming the plan is to loan him to L1 having brought in some experienced centre backs. Would be the best thing for his development.
  11. Thanks for that! Interesting choice from the player as Nantes have a good academy I believe. Hope it works out!
  12. Does anyone know what the situation with Mafoumbi was at Nantes? His goal scoring record in youth football is impressive. Did they want to retain him? Do the fans rate him? An interesting signing and hopefully a gem uncovered!
  13. You’d think getting these players signed up so they can train with their teammates would be a priority. Starting to wonder whether it’s all an elaborate smokescreen and these poor souls will be travelling back to their respective countries just like Duncan did. I find it remarkable that I would even entertain such a theory, but such is the level of trust between the fans and the club right now that I don’t believe a single thing they say.
  14. Anyone know when these deals are likely to be announced? I’m imagining SW telling the players in the boardroom that it’s now a loan to buy/we are pulling out of the deal/ we are halving their salary. PTSD.
  15. Is this actually how you interpret it?
  16. This is asset stripping which is terribly painful but hopefully signals an imminent plan to sell the club.
  17. The good news is that once Sammie is gone there’s very little else for them to sell so hopefully they will pocket the cash and leave.
  18. I’m waiting to hear about how we were about to sign Yamal but for the global IT outage.
  19. I understand why people would want to continue to attend matches and buy shirts etc. and don’t judge anyone for doing that. Not living in the Blackburn area means it’s easy for me to switch off and boycott. It might be different if I’d been a season ticket holder and attended with family for years. I think my main reason for doing this is because I don’t want my money going to the owners who clearly hold the fans in contempt. Im sure they think we are all thick when in reality a lot of us are far more educated and brighter than they are. Any income is clearly not being invested in the club. I don’t want my money going towards helping the owners save face.
  20. The biggest issue with the current situation is the continued lack of communication and honesty with the fans. We can all see what is happening and they should just fess up to the obvious fact we are selling players to pay the bills because the owners are unable/unwilling to fund us anymore. Gestede was meant to improve lines of communication with the supporters but we have the same radio silence suggesting he is another ‘yes’ man. They clearly disrespect the fans and see us as useful idiots. I for one will not be spending another single penny on the club until they’re gone.
  21. It’s hardly surprising that we’re confident when the only realistic competition comes from the local Orthopaedic department.
  22. I’d like to know what happened to the funds we saved when they sabotaged the McGuire deal? Where are the proceeds of significant player sales if they are truly able/willing to fund the club before the court proceedings? If we are indeed their ‘Baby’ then somebody inform social services as this is abject neglect. They don’t even have the balls to tell us the truth yet they want our hard earned money to buy season tickets and shirts. Imho it’s gotten to the point where the only logical explanation for them not selling us is to spite the fans who booed them out of town all those years ago. They are so wealthy that they can easily afford to let us rot out of cruelty and revenge. I won’t be spending any money on Rovers this season as the money simply lines their pockets/pays the legal fees and nothing meaningful is invested into our beloved club.
  23. There’s an awful lot of ‘Head of’ appointments and no actual signings. Me thinks we are rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic.
  24. I wonder if Placheta is on our radar. Was on loan at Brum under Eustace but was hampered by injuries. Previously highly rated but his stock has fallen. Could be worth a go. Recently released by Swansea.
