However, these people are usually first in the queue when it comes to cup finals/play-off finals for tickets.

Just out of interest, whatever happened to Elton Welsby? Im missing his obsession with Oldham Athletic and Tranmere on Kick Off (younger members...wake your Dad up and ask.) -
Like I said in my orginal post, the national team just doesnt interest me. Its the day to day intensity of the club game that sparks me. You can't swap banter on a day to day basis with international fans, the hype surrounding the England team annoys me immensley as does the big club/London bias towards selection. Call me unpatriotic, but I don't see the logic in giving dogs abuse to the likes of Neville, Beckham and Terry, (who have all slighted my club in some way in the past) and then cheering them on when they play for England.
-
I only look out for England or any international teams if there is a Rovers interest. International football just doesnt excite me like it does at club level. The England team is full of Tossers that people can't stand at club level. Why should I cheer them just because they wear an England shirt?

I really couldn't give a toss about England, but a tub-thumper like Pearce would be in the similar mode to Keegan. Martin O'Neill is spoken of very highly in Simon Garners autobiography, so perhaps he is worth a shout.

From the top of my head I think both clubs agreed to cap ticket prices at a tenner.

How big the the download Flopsy? Please tell me its better than the special forces add-on? -
Games against Villa always bring back some very special memories for me, like Shillito pointed out; The "Archibald" game in 88, the two cup matches in 1990, the away games in 97 and 99, and the cup game in 2003. Cant see us losing this one. 3-1 Rovers.

Flopsy, without wanting to appear stupid, whats the difference between the incremental patch and the full Client patch, apart from 30mb? If it helps, I have the special forces add on installed. -

Eddie, I have similar problems with BF1942. I tried and loved BF2 and I thought I would go a little retro! However, I couldn't be bothered sorting out the techincal issues so I have stuck to BF2, just got back into it after a two month absence. I was online yesterday, there were only 800 servers available - I presume that was something to do with the new patch which has just come out - its a fairly hefty download and I havent got around to downloading it yet. I may wait to see if its included on any free discs of the various PC mags. I know Flopsy is a very keen BF fan so he is probably your best bet on the board. We must get together sometime for some squad based action! -
Very happy day! We travelled down on an "Aspdens" coach when they jumped on the Rovers bandwagon and ran coaches to all away trips. No membership, and the Drivers pretty much turned a blind eye to booze. The coach had a puncture on the M5 so we made the game with a few minutes to spare. That gamed summed up Speedie's immense contribution to the promotion campaign. At times he seemed on a one man mission to take us up. Pete "tight perm" Shilton who was in goal didn't stand a chance. Huge Chin, I think the home fans smashed up their stand in frustration as we had just relegated them.

How about Tim Sherwood being sent off for a non-existent head butt on Beckham?
-
I know I shouldn't admit this, and in my Defence I was half-###### when I watched it, but was Adrian Chiles in "The sex lives of the Potato Men"?
-
An excellent piece by LDRover on this point in tonight's LET. Especially the vomit-inducing spiel about his son growing up as "a Geordie" which was particularly cringe-worthy at the time.

I'm amazed that any Rovers fan has any time for Eriksson after the stunt he pulled in '97.

I would imagine the chances of Jansen playing any part on Saturday are non-existant as I assume he will be cup-tied if he does. -

I was sat in the centre of the away fans and there was defintely a chorus of "town full of pakis" just before the first goal. Back in the dim and distant past I recall Burnley fans in the Manx Cup era chanting "Pakis rule your Town", so it isnt anything out of the ordainary. A goal shuts the morons up. -
"Poor training pitches" was the latest one from the Toon's excuse-maker-in-chief.

MK, ive said that to myself so many times, and then ive'e seen the lastest PC game such as Medal of Honour, Call of Duty or Champ Manager and my resolve has weakened! I doubt a hardened BF2 fan such as Flopsy will be heeding your advice........ -

The current "daddy" is the Radeon X800, however you are looking at 200.00 plus for one of those. -

Flopsy, im not expert in these matter (far from it) but I think upgrading your processor isn't really necessary. A pal of mine has stuck a 1 gig stick in his PC, and he claims BF2 flies, even on high settings. Doing that (about 80-100 quid) and sticking a new graphics card - something like a 6600 or 6800 GT or Radeon X800 should be more than good enought for you. Over to you, Glenn........
