  1. Surely Rothwell is being rested rather than dropped isn't he? Just like Elliott was at Preston.
  2. There are a couple of more reasonable threads on there about tonight's game. I particularly liked this post about their predicted team: - I have it on good authority GK Park Bus DEF Park Bus DEF Park Bus DEF Park Bus CM Pass Sideways CM Pass Sideways RWB Run up and down a bit LWB As above RF invisible man 1 LF invisible man 2 CF why am i bothering Subs all irrelevant
  3. If you have a Sky Sports subscription you can watch red button games. If you're really bored you could even watch the first half of Boro v Swansea before as that kicks off at 7pm.
  4. More than sound, it's the best in the division - 5 wins and a draw out of 8 games. They would be in the relegation zone with their home form.
  5. Right now it's essentially the same thing - there are 2 points separating the top 7.
  6. I actually missed the majority of England’s innings as we had a Fans Forum Zoom at 6pm.
  7. Well it looked like South Africa’s 191 was going to make it a close contest but Butler and Malan just made it a walk in the park. The only negative was Malan miscalculating at the end and missing his 100.
  8. The last time we were on the red button I watched on iFollow so my wife could watch something else on the TV. I have a ST so it was free for me but it was full video so I can’t see why it won’t be for you if you pay your £10.
  9. He has been all round the EFL both on loan when he was at Rovers and then afterwards. The last two years he was out of the EFL before landing at Morecambe this season.
  10. He's at Morecambe. 18 appearances so far this season and just the one goal.
  11. Achievement and fashion are far from the same thing. I think the only time we have been remotely fashionable was a few years at the beginning of the 1990s. Many of us, including me, relish the fact that we're NOT fashionable. I suspect that there is a pretty good chance that we will feature more prominently on Quest in our next two Saturday games.
  12. Quest select a couple of games each week and have a commentator there. The plan will be to select “newsworthy” games and plan to show more of them. Derby v Wycombe was an obvious one for a bit more coverage - no manager, Rooney taking charge, bottom of the table 6 pointer, Derby in terrible form - it was a story. In contrast our game was two unfashionable clubs in mid table with no crisis on either side, so unless something remarkable happened it was only ever going to be the goals and maybe one or two other clips.
  13. The Sky TV contract gives money to all clubs but then if your club is chosen for a live home game you get £50,000. This is a reduced amount as part of the revised deal following the pandemic which had an increased number of games. The away team gets a much smaller fee - it was £10,000 but may now be less.
  14. Millwall had 6 players unavailable on Saturday - Zohore, Mitchell, Mahoney, Bennett, Romeo and Bradshaw. As I don't know a lot about them I have no idea whether any or all of these 6 would have started had they been fit though. Or whether they might be fit for Wednesday.
  15. We’re stuffed if we only exercise patience on Saturday - the game’s on Wednesday.
  16. A bit of a wobble on a slow pitch today in Paarl but still another good win.
  17. To be fair until recent years round two games were never on TV here, never mind overseas.
  18. No away fans yet, quite probably not all season.
  19. It could just be that we can afford to pay more than a Belgian team? I can't imagine there is a huge amount of TV money in the Belgian league.
  20. Apparently that's the fourth time in a row that they have lost 5-0 at the Etihad.
  21. Millwall are below us after today's game. The number of shots made and on target tells you quite a bit about the game. Barnsley had loads of chances in and around the box but only created a few stonewall chances - two good saves from Kaminski and one goal.
  22. England have done it again, winning a T20 match from a very unlikely position. With 86 from Bairstow.
  23. One game for Grindleford in Derbyshire in about 1975. I was living in the village and answered a call for help in the pub the night before. I scored - I'd like to claim it was a 30 yard screamer but it was more a 1 yard toe poke. A combination of wanting to watch Rovers and being with the lady who is now my wife meant I never turned out again. In truth a very average player. In contrast my Dad was an excellent player, probably good enough to have been a pro. I always tell people that he turned down Liverpool twice, which is true but nothing like the decision it would be now. He was a farmer and almost certainly able to earn more than being an apprentice at Liverpool. And it was during the war and he would have been called up when he got to 18.
