Get what you mean, if it's a failure of a number of seasons we'd lose a lot. But if we cut ties after one season having only scored 5-6 goals having started 25+ games (similar to Dominic Samuel last year) i'd still expect us to recoup most the fee. It's certainly less of a potential loss then spending 8m on a 28 year old who fails. Granted less likely to be a failure if you're buying someone with a track record. Anyway, point of my original message was i wouldn't buy him.

it's all strange. it feels like a luxury buy from a team who already has it all not a buy from someone who's biggest buy has been 750k for the last 3-4 years. My only knowledge of the player is buying him on fifa this year, did very well though ?. I don't think anyone would be upset for him to sign, he's clearly a prospect, who'd have to fail miserably for us not to at least recoup our outlay. But the opportunity cost of buying him would rightly annoy many. we could buy 4 first team players for the cash. A laughable bid was when shef wednesday offered 100k for mulgrew last year! My opinion is 5-600k is right for a CB with 12 months left in league one, 300k isn't a bad starting point.
