  1. Tugay has turned down Gala and will sign a new contract. (teletext Mirror report)
  2. Second pack arrived at our house today. Mine came last week, Todays was for a prospective season ticket holder.
  3. sorry if I sound a bit thick but what do you mean by automatic up ticket scheme
  4. No, your not. With a 240 plus round trip to home games, it gets more and more frustrating having to travel mid week. Especially when the M6 is down to 1 lane thanks to the midnight cone counters. Fortunately these days, I can rearrange my work schedule most of the time, but for those who cant or those who work shifts it must be frustrating and it is bound to affect ticket sales.
  5. Atomicrover They have arrived here in Leicestershire
  6. exactly. as I said above. Or to put it another way, we are a big town club in a small town.
  7. I'd be more inclined to say. We are a small town club, with big club ambitions. Without big club ambition and success Rovers would not survive based on local support. Without Jack Walkers finance Rovers would not have had the success that generated larger support. Whilst there is a core of true Rovers supporters there is an element of glory hunters, who will switch clubs just to be associated with success.
  8. 1864roverite get your facts right. jim has never had a good word to say about Souness
  9. What next, do we loan supporters to Bumley...... ooops sorry GAV
  10. Rovers have completed the signing of Leicester's Scottish International striker Paul Dickov. Rovers have obtained Dickov for a transfer fee reported to be £150,000 and he has signed a contract that will keep him at Ewood for 2 years.
  11. Maybe with the new kit sponsor, things may change.
  12. Daily Express are reporting that MGP will sign for Rovers this week for around £2m.
  13. I have a feeling it was written by Desmond Morris.
  14. A few years ago I read an article stating that there was a close link between the prosperity of an area and the success of its football team. A successfull team tended to highlight a town or area and industry tend to want to associate with an area due to publicity. This however reciprocates itself when successfull local businesses generate wealth and become associated with the town football club. People in a town with a successfull team, tend to have a feel good factor and there are less recorded days off sick, creating a more stable ecomomic environment and more profit for the towns employers. Maybe someone else remembers the article, and can expand further.
  15. BBE with loyalty discount £385. Thats £103 saving for me. Dont let the Mrs say I waste money again. Print and stick to fridge door
  16. Well mine has arrived here in the land that time forgot. I just wish the club had got things out sooner, I was trying to convince someone to get a season ticket, which ment me transfering my seat, to ensure we sat together. With the deadline of the 19th very close, this could now present a problem, bearing in mind that person is going on holiday and wont be back untill after the deadline. Hey Bob whats this. Shame on you ....................................More like. LET.Headlines May 2005, Fans refuse to turn up for victory parade after failing to get Cup Final Tickets
  17. As the fans eagerly await the release of the new seasons kit, there is little news being released by the Ewood Park commercial department, regarding the design and manufacturers of the new kit. This secrecy is rather surprising bearing in mind that the Rovers the Moon Store, after the clearance sale, has been re-branded with Sports World and Lonsdale logos. Sports World International, owned by Mike Ashley, are the parent company of the Sports Soccer retail chain, which has over 140 out of town stores selling all the main sports brands, including the their in-house subsidiary of Donnay, a brand which now sponsors Greg Rusedski and Darren Clarke. In February of this year, Mike Ashley; who is said to be worth £400m and is on the Sunday Times Rich List at No 101. (April 19th 2004) acquired Dunlop Slazenger, to add to his retail and manufacturing portfolio. Update. The Official Site has just announced that the shirt manufacturer logo will be Official Site New Store News Update. 2. Thanks to Den, we now have exclusive pictures of the new shop. Click here to view the pictures.
  18. Well there's nowt better than telling people that they are getting old, for shifting tickets. Hey, finacially I would be happy if they told me I could get a Senior Citizen priced ticket. No replies required stating I look old enough to qualify.
  19. Have you a link. Last night they were reporting that Douglas was away with Ireland and we will talk again as soon as he returns."
  20. Why did you post a number of posts regarding Euro 2004 tickets then.
  21. Rovers have shuffled the coaching staffs, with existing staff being realocated to new positions within the club. Tony Parkes takes over as reserve team manager with Rob Kelly stepping up from being head of youth coaching at the Academy to be assistant reserve manager/coach. Tony Parkes position as assistant manager to Graeme Souness it taken up by Alan Murrey, who spent last season in charge of the reserves. Phil Boersma also steps up from the reserves to share first team coaching duties with Dean Saunders.
  22. Never volunteer. Next thing they will expect you to knit a new net for the goal mouth.
