  1. The team was clearly shattered. I blame Maguire for that - he didn't rest any players all season, always picking the strongest squad. I'd be shocked if Tomkins isn't carrying an injury too, he's looked jaded for all the playoff games. Doesn't help that he set his stall out to play a conservative forwards game........with Fielden, Hock, Cross and Mossop unavailable. The bench was lightweight with Tuson, Farrell and O'Carroll in rotation. As the saying goes: "No Props, no pots." We tried to blitz you in the first 20 minutes and once you'd weathered that storm we were always in trouble. As for Leuluai - I thought everyone knew by now he's ###### in the halves? He's a (world class) hooker through and through - again on Maguire's head. Instead of blooding Mellor/Powell (or Russell at FB and having the option of moving Tomkins back to the halves) he relied on Deacon all season (who is utterly finished) with Leuluai rotating with McIlorum (who I simply don't rate going forward) at hooker. Once Deacon dropped out of the side our options are zero - Leuluai must play in the halves and McIlorum must play 80 minutes. You can't win like that - not against the better teams. I'm obviously very grateful for the work Maguire has done - but the last few weeks have left a very bitter taste in my mouth. I feel like he's leaving with the job half finished. Thankfully we have the best academy in the English game, so the next coach will have quality players to mould into a team - and we assume that's Wane, but who knows.
  2. Haha! What do I know. Get in Leeds. Nevermind, Warrington, there's always next year.
  3. Ganson has been shocking in the playoffs. Why does he continue to get big games? I fear Leeds' only chance was scoring two or three times when they were on top at the start of the match. Warrington are too good to play this poorly for 80 minutes - only one winner for me at this point. I've got no idea about the game tomorrow either. Wigan blew Catalans away last week - their first good performance in about a month. Was it one swallow, or is summer back? Time will tell. If we're back I can see us winning the whole thing - I still believe with Maguire in charge we're the best team in the comp.
  4. Stealth is easy once you get the cloak. I've moved on to Dead Island. It's keeping me entertained.
  5. Did anyone buy Deus Ex: Human Revolution? It's a bit good!
  6. I was shocked the first time I went to Wembley - the area is a disgrace. I've never been impressed with the stadium either - for £1bn I expect better. At least something original. As for the game. Thought we were lucky to win in the end. That's mainly down to the injuries we picked up during the match (Prescott, O'Loughlin, Charnley)and only having two props on the bench, but it goes down as a win in the books so that's all I care about.
  7. Two days before the game, when the ticket has been sold, my boss tells me I can have the day off if I want. *bangs head against wall* Ah well. I can't see anything other than a Wigan win. Although I'll be at Ewood for the match itself. As for the Bradford game: Wigan were content to simply win it before Sykes tried to behead S. Tomkins. After that we unleashed the hounds, it was a little terrifying to watch 'cos Bradford had no answer for it.
  8. Season ticket holder for the Warriors. Bought my ticket for the Challenge Cup, but (as is fitting with how my life is going right now) I can't get the day off work. So I'm paying £60 to erm.....watch the final at home. Fantastic.
  9. I do wonder what games people watch at times. He was playing off the front man and he's a striker by trade. Asking him to be a competent defender at this level too is a little much. He was comfortably our best player today. IF we stay up an attack of Hoilett, Olsson, Rochina and Kalinic is an exciting one indeed. Of course, if we go down those 4 will be some of the first out the door.
  10. SPOILER ALERT! I saw the ending as him coming to terms with killing his wife, but preferring to have the lobotomy than live with what he's done.
  11. Finally got round to seeing Shutter Island (because it was on Sky Premier!). Excellent little movie.
  12. 'AC: Brotherhood' is about Ezio's life after the end of AC II. It should probably be called AC II: Brotherhood. As you'd expect it's more of the same with perhaps slightly more variation in the missions. The big thing for me is that they've tweaked the combat. It's very much in the vein of Arkham's Asylum now i.e rather than just sitting there waiting for counter attacks, you can put a flowing combo together after the first kill. It makes tackling groups of guards much easier and rewarding. They've also added a feature where you can recruit your own assassins - you level them up by sending them out on contracts. If they're in the city though (Rome - so far that's the only place you're allowed to go) they can be called in to assist you, which is a nice touch. I wasn't going to buy it as I thought it was just a multiplayer game (so the marketing campaign was a complete bust), but it turns out that it's a fully fleshed out game. If you bought AC then you'll notice the jump in quality from that to AC II. I'd say they've improved on AC II with AC:B by almost the same. It's definitely worth a purchase.
  13. Exactly. Everybody dies - it's not a tragic death, like in your example, or the minute's silence for Terry Newton at the Grand Final (though I have little sympathy for the man, his demise was tragic) I think applause celebrating his life is more appropriate than a minute of silence, but each to their own.
  14. Was it meant to be a minute's applause on Saturday? I couldn't near the PA - the players and the referee set up like they were aiming for a minute's silence, but everyone started clapping.
  15. Congratulations, he's found his level.
  16. I'd have been surprised by that, pre-The Town. I like Eastwood's directing a lot, but I was really impressed with Affleck. I'll let you know what I think of Gone Baby Gone.
  17. Anyone seen 'The Town'? It's excellent - I was shocked when the credits rolled and Ben Affleck's name came up as director. I'm going to have to go see 'Gone Baby Gone' now. He's clearly very talented.
  18. Not really. Final Fantasy makes no sense either.
  19. Anyone played Demon's Souls? I was talked into buying it - and it's a nightmare of a game. As with most Japanese games, the story makes no sense, and it's brutally unforgiving.
  20. Exactly, Dirk - it actually elicited some emotion from me. Generally I'm just relieved to have completed a game. Fantastic ending I though.
