  1. If that's the best we have to offer, they might as well close the academy now. Gallagher, Derbyshire Sergio and Jay are all twenty and above yet still have a long way to go, if indeed they'll ever make it. Nolan wasn't much better. Gallagher and Jay aside, they're all far too slight with not enough football skill to play at the top flight. Tugay is a perfect example - if you're going to lose out physically you have to be exceptional on the ball.
  2. He put it in the back of the net, ran the length of the pitch, cupped his hand to those that had been booing him (as they were all cheering) and then proceeded to tell them where to go. Cue more arguments in the Jack Walker. As the guys next to me said, they've never booed him before, but after that petulant act they will now. Fair play if you ask me, he's meant to be a professional. As for the game, absolutely dire once again. If Nancy could finish they'd have been out of sight.
  3. Well worth going then, about time the kids got a start.
  4. They'd win a lot of supporters if they simply worked harder. More than half of Benni's offsides are down to him not bothering to get himself back onside. Neither defends from the front either - one of Dickov's more admirable qualities. I'm not even going to mention the complete lack of pace.
  5. 4-5-1, gentlemen (and ladies), it's the future. We need points and we need them now - there's no point trying (and failing) to play football when you don't have the team to do it (be it through a lack of activity in the transfer window, the reluctance to drop underperforming players, or indeed injuries). It's sad to see, but this season is about survival right now. Bring back Mokoena into the spoiler role and let's grind out some results.
  6. With the way these takeovers are going, I'd imagine they'd put in a cheeky bid.
  7. I'm not paying that lot £30 this year. They rip off all the away fans (£35 a ticket for Citeh - ludicrous). Plus I'm still not over the free pies scandal.
  8. And for all those Carolina Panther fans (....just me then ). Almost team I support has laid down and died within 24 hours (The Oakland Athletics are on their offseason, otherwise I'm sure they'd have followed suit). It's days like this where I hate sport. As for the game, well by the sounds of it they fully deserved it. Once again we failed to turn up and the front two were non-existant.
  9. If only we could score. Our front two don't put enough away.
  10. 3 & 3 for me too, and I wholeheartedly agree, red and black halves should be a fixture for the away kit.
  11. Threadbare back line that. A win is looking less likely now.
  12. I thought Bentley had some neat touches and, most importantly, looked to simply keep possession. He's a long way away from claiming the Tugay role, but I agree, he flashed the potential on Saturday.
  13. Benni or Shefki - it's not a difficult choice really. I agree with Joey, Nonda is the far superior player, but the sheer size and work ethic of Shefki is missed, especially off the bench.
  14. Isn't he scoring again, albeit in the Championship. As for SWP being better than Bellamy, well I'm inclined to agree - especially when you factor in personality and proneness to injury.
  15. It'd be an absolute huge signing for our team, finally providing us with some much needed pace in midfield. The fact that he can consistently beat his man, nick the odd goal or two and provide service to our front two wouldn't go amiss either. Alas, Chelski are asking for £10m for him, minimum - about £6m outside of our price range. Plus, half of the Prem (the half that can afford him) is after his signature.
  16. Nonda should have scored twice, likewise Savage probably should have scored. That said, your lot need to learn to put their foot through the ball. You had a lot of tame shots. All in all, I'm happy with a draw. We're not playing well, we were away from home and we're still struggling to cope without Reid and Nelsen. A place in the last 32 isn't too shabby.
