That's not how it works. It goes to tribunal, who determine the value of the player. They also add a sell-on clause and a training fee. If the compensation is £250k then either Spurs have someone on the tribunal, or he's not as good as we think. Lenihan and Rothwell were out the door before Broughton and JDT arrived. That's 100% on Mowbray and Waggot. If Mowbray was still in charge I'd be incredibly pessimistic about how the offseason has gone and about our upcoming season. If we hadn't signed Brittain I'd be worried - but that's a fantastic signing. Until our new dynamic duo prove us otherwise (and their CVs suggest they're both canny operators) I refuse to believe that we're up a certain creek without a paddle.

Please show me which Championship club has all of it's transfer business done and the new signings embedded with the team in pre-season training. We don't sit at the top table anymore, so unfortunately these are the rules we have to play by.
