Not a lot of surprises elsewhere. Looks like it'll be Liverpool, Chelsea, Manure, Arsenal all through. City could be going out to Newcastle, not a huge shock as such, but City have won something like half the League Cups in recent years, so could be a big plus for anyone looking to lift this trophy.

Yeh disagree. He IS goal side for one thing. Getting any tighter than he was could have made it easy for the player to turn away and leave him stranded. Attempting to snatch the ball with the player facing away from him could have very easily resulted in a penalty. As I said though, the other player who goes charging forward prematurely fucked up there.

Good find! The second Cardiff goal for anyone who wants to see it. Not as bad as made out either, IMO. One defender runs too far forward as the ball is being played into the box, not sure the others can reasonably be expected to do much about it.

More of a tiny gamble (financially anyway) that doesn't look like it's going to pay off. You could argue it was a massive gamble him being the only striker we added late in the window, but frankly I don't think our budget was stretching any further anyway.

Cardiff have hit the target 3 times according to Google (2 according to livescore) and scored 2. Not a great look for Wahlstedt, though I haven't seen them. Tbf we have only hit the target twice (three according to livescore though) and scored both ourselves. 11 shots to their 5 (or 6) though.

We get 5 subs these days don't we? If you can't fix the attack with 4 of them, you're not fixing it. Also, scoring 2 goals won't change the game either if we ship another 1 or 2, so I can't buy the logic it would be a wasted sub. However, it would totally shred his confidence, which could be a problem if we come to rely on him again later.
