  1. That's my fear. Seen this script too many times. Waste chances, get a sucker punch in the bollocks and lose a game we should've won 4 nil.
  2. Worst part is he is one of our best finishers...
  3. Ok let's dispel this, it keeps coming up. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/brandon-thomas-asante/leistungsdaten/spieler/451747 Incomplete data, as transfermarkt don't tend to put position played for substitutes, but in the league games he has started, he has played 7 up front and 1 at RW. These are the bulk of his minutes, as he played over an hour in all of them and 84+ minutes in over half of them, with none of his sub appearances being particularly lengthy. In the cups, 90+ minutes at CF in the FA Cup, 90+ minutes at CF in the League Cup, and another two full matches in the Leage Cup, one at LW, one at RW. He scored in each of those games played wide, one of them against Spurs. So actually, all told, he's scored twice as many goals out wide as he has up front, in a fraction of the game time. Not only has he not been mostly played wide, but it isn't what's holding back his scoring.
  4. Fuck me that's a lot of players out on loan. Starting to look like my FM20 save. Nice one for the summary, and for putting it in order of the tiers played in.
  5. Dion Sanderson struggled to even play in an inferior league this season. Adam Foreshaw struggled in an inferior team. They're both here.
  6. We are the same. So like the poster said, more competition...
  7. I can't see how you can't see the issue. Baker was 3rd choice. He's gone and we've brought someone in who you say is 4th choice to replace him? That's downgrading.
  8. Replacing two wide attackers with probably more or less the same budget...depends how likely we think promotion is.
  9. Wow, haven't learnt our lesson at all. At least the way we play is less dependent on bowling green surfaces now.
  10. The manager hasn't shown any desire to play 2 up front, has he?
  11. Not to mention he's going up a league
  12. The rumours at the time were that Eustace was Waggott's man. If so, it must be the only useful thing he has done in his whole tenure. A stopped clock is right twice a day and all that, I guess.
  13. If you're right and Forshaw is considered worse than Buckley, it's a bad signing. Buckley has been dogshit for quite some time, and is insufficient as 3rd choice. Somebody better than Buckley should've been brought in.
  14. I think his point is more that Wharton should have been held onto for longer and hopefully made his debut with us, or that if Venkys weren't such clowns there's a decent chance he could have made his England debut with a Premiership Blackburn Rovers.
  15. Interesting side note about this list - every single club above us on there is currently in the Prem. The same goes for the all time Premiership table, where we sit 12th. Above us are, in order, Manure, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs, City, Everton, Newcastle, Villa, West Ham, Southampton. Leicester below us in 13th are also in the Prem. Leeds, 14th, likely to go back up, Fulham (15) and Palace (16) already there. So of the top 16 on that list, only us and Leeds aren't in it right now. It's not entirely dissimilar on the above list either, we're the only one of the top 12 not currently in the Prem, although after that the picture does change, with the next 5 all in the Championship. It does all go to show that, historically, we are punching below our weight for quite some time now, to have been in this league for so long and never even reached the playoffs.
  16. I thought it was 30s last time, but you'll know better, you're tracking it more than most (maybe more than anyone...definitely more than Venkys).
  17. I would assume that one has actually had hearings though, and perhaps been complicated and required back and forth. Ours has been seen once, where funding was approved, and supposedly we believe it's just a case of following that precedent, no?
  18. I see the judges use the time in court productively then, and that Indian lawyers take everything seriously. Not sure why you let yourself sit through it mate, there was more chance of Trump deciding today to not bother becoming President after all than there was of our case getting seen.
  19. What's mad is we seem to have fallen even further behind in the pecking order since last time. How does that happen? The longer we're waiting, the higher up the list we should go. Wilsden posted previously that it seems to be based on what type of case it is, and that we're a 'final matters' case. But surely we were that last time too, yet our number was much higher up.
  20. Not to annoy the OP or anything, but I'm not sure there's much point in having this as a thread? You can just use this link really: https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/blackburn-rovers/transfers/verein/164/plus/?saison_id=2024&pos=&detailpos=&w_s=w I'd find it far more useful to do what has been done in previous windows - have a thread for transfer links only. For those who don't want to read dozens of pages of debate between Chaddy, RF99 etc (including me at times) and just want to know the latest rumours. Confirmations could be added to that too, and just start it off with the above link on the first post for those who just want to check the whole picture of confirmed moves.
  21. Certainly on FM20, you could only swap out 2 players from your previously registered squad in January (I think not counting ones who had been sold or loaned out). They always base this kind of thing on the rules and are pretty accurate on the whole with only slight discrepancies. However, the rules may have changed.
  22. Depends on age, doesn't it? I think ACD for example won't need to be registered as he's well under 21. I think Harry Leonard is still a free hit this season too, but would need registering next season. And further loanees if young enough won't need registering. Unless rules have changed since I last understood it. Can't remember if loanees count regardless of age though actually.
  23. I do like the look of him to be fair. With the usual caveats about highlight reels of course and you'd want to do a full scouting job, but...does look quick, albeit not Armstrong quick. Very good technique. Can strike a ball. Looks like he reads the game quickly too. A good age at 24, meaning he has experience (including European competition qualifiers and Conference League) but still growth potential and resale value. Like you say, tasty contract situation. Good record this season in a fairly poor league, 6 goals and 3 assists in 773 minutes (so less than 9 full matches equivalent). Struggled to contribute much in the European games with just 2 assists, but since they've gone through Champs League quals, Europa quals and are now doing Conference League, I'm guessing they've been out of their depth as a team. Main problem? Transfermarkt has him down as having a hamstring injury currently, 'return unknown'. Hamstring injuries on quick players tend to recur too. They also have his current market value (not always particularly reliable on there) as 3 million Euros. Don't think that tends to take account of contract situation, but if (big if) that's an accurate estimate they'd probably still want about £1.5 million at the mo I'd wager. Although we could just pre-contract him right now in theory and they'd be guaranteed to lose him, plus it would wobble his head, so may be able to get him cheaper after that. If it's even worth it, if he has a bad hamstring injury now (guess that brings the price down too though!). Doesn't qualify for a work permit so needs an ESC slot, no big deal though as I think I'm remembering rightly we have one more, or two if we shunt Siggy out. It's certainly the sort of deal we should be looking for, the right profile and skillset, even if that one in particular doesn't work.
