That was last season. Hopefully our current sponsors don't result in a ram's bottom being thrown onto the pitch... -

Has Gueye been provided with a single heading opportunity at goal in the league yet? -

Overtime? Given how poor the youth team updates are on social media, I'm not sure they're even putting in a full normal shift each week. -

Absolutely beyond belief that the officials have seen the bite mark and not carded the cunt. What did they think, he bit his own back?!? -

Baffled that you thought that. -

Cantwell yes, but ACD looks class to me. He'll be a regular fixture soon enough. -

Should have been sent off even if the bite wasn't spotted. Thug that lad. Hopefully a lengthy suspension coming when the bite is assessed. I assume Beck was trying to show them the actual bite mark. If one was visible, then the officials are absolute fucking morons for not sending the guy straight off, as it's concrete proof. -

Eustace putting a consoling arm around Ty as he brought him off. Think he knows the lad's head hasn't been right today. I do think Eustace seems like a good man manager. -

Agree with Gueye on, but not sure there is going to be a lot of space for ACD to run at them. -

Really good save at the death there from Pears, best he's made this season. Can't believe the commentator was waffling on about that card being in any way controversial. Clearest one I've seen all season. Scythed him down from behind, end of. I don't even want to play against 10 really but that was as clear cut as it gets. I assume that's one of our fans thought it was a good idea to throw something onto the pitch? Days after the club has been fined 35k for exactly that. Fucking troglodyte. -
Villareal wanted a bargain, I don't think they ever truly felt he was a player they needed. Not sure they ever even made an official bid? At least, the highest bids were from elsewhere by all accounts. Villareal knew he could flop there and they'd still make a profit. It's not always a good idea, longer term for your career, to play the out of contract game so that a club who can easily afford to pay the going rate can get you on a freebie and give you a bumper signing on bonus. Admittedly to a degree that was probably taken out of his hands by the club rejecting bids from other clubs the summer before, but if he wasn't going to put a proper stint in all season I'd rather he pushed for a move at the time, which he never did. Which was clearly because he wanted his Spanish move. But I'd have to agree he wouldn't have been better off staying here, sadly. Except in the scenario where he put a proper shift in all season and got us promoted, which was very do-able. Then he could have had a bumper new Prem-money contract and had the chance to attract bigger fish on a bigger stage whilst playing in an environment where he knew he fitted in and was playing his best football. But plodding along in the Championship on let's say 20k ish a week on a new deal probably wouldn't have been a better long term scenario.

With Prem money to pay all the overtime needed. I find the whining statement from Leeds amusing for 4 reasons. 1 - if their fans weren't trouble making scum we probably wouldn't be in this position. Maybe control those first- I hear failing to do so can get you a 35k fine. I wonder how many of those they've had, and whether they got one for when their mob wrecked the Postal Order. 2 - the kickoff was at 12.30pm last year, even earlier. They're an hour better off. 3 - apparently they rejected an earlier kickoff time of 12.30pm this year...which means they had a veto, which means they didn't exercise it on the 1.30pm kickoff. Which means they are essentially voicing frustration at a decision they agreed to. 4 - they're complaining about how late the decision was made because it could inconvenience supporters' plans...the fucking game is still over 2 months away! Leeds United FC - clearly pricks just like their fans.
-
Especially given that a Premiership team with all their money only paid the same fee, after he had smashed the Championship, become a Chilean star, and top-scored for a Prem team in half a season. Quite what we thought we were doing paying it for a kid with a bit of promise whilst we were a poor Championship side with FFP to worry about really is a mystery.

It does make you wonder why these teams acquired him, given his main asset simply doesn't play to their style. Well, except Villareal, I guess it's obvious they were just looking to make some easy profit.

The Summer Transfer Window (Press Submit)

Likewise, that's why I only said contributed to. Forest were pathetic during that saga. So were we, but at least we weren't hypocritical about it. The player also bears some responsibility for seemingly going backwards, but I can understand the effect the psychological stress of the whole ordeal would have had. Players aren't immune to psychology and biology just because they're paid very well, as some people seem to think. -

That's the point. Sign him on in Jan whilst there are not 'loads of teams fighting for his signature'. If even one team is competing with us in the summer, we either lose a player we've decided to keep, and need to source a replacement again in a summer where we already have a lot to do, or pay a higher wage to keep him. Waiting until teams are competing is why we keep losing players for bugger all. -

Of course it's a derby. It's just not the derby. It's actually 1.4 miles closer than the dingle dome. -

Weimann only scored 3 goals in 29 appearances last season. It was well under his usual figures. This season he already has 3 in 6 games, including a worldie. He'll be one year older, but if he manages to notch a decent number it's easy to see why there'd be more interest in him next summer than there was this summer. Yes the decline can accelerate, that's why I said I'd leave it til about January. If there are no signs of decline by then, I'd give him another year if his wages aren't too high. His experience and versatility can be helpful. Wages are key considerations for all of these sorts of players who aren't guaranteed starters. And really we don't know what any of them are on. I suspect Hedges isn't on so much, and Siggy probably is, and of the two Hedges has probably provided more but has more injury issues. I think with those two it might be keep one or the other. I suspect we'd need to move fairly soon if we decided Siggy was the one to keep, as he will have interest in Europe and strikes me as a bit of a mercenary, but like you I think his wages are probably at the top end of our structure. I think based on evidence so far, we can do better. A slight shame he'll be off on a free though as we could probably have managed 500k to 1 mill if his contract was longer. -
