It'd be a real shame if we went from having left back finally sorted after all these years, to just Pickering next season. He's alright, but he's also been better with competition and not being relied on week in week out. -

I doubt it. He was on an 18 month deal in Portugal and swapped it for 6 months here. Even though we are a basket case club, I think anybody would swap struggling to get into an average Portuguese side for an opportunity to make a name in England in a side in the top 6 of the Championship. I feel confident this decision came from our cost cutting crew who are refusing to sign off on any decent contracts right now. -

Every time I see him, I become increasingly baffled that we only signed him to a 6 month deal. Have to wonder what the club are thinking at times...or if they're thinking at all. -
Entirely possible, I can't imagine Google are paying too much attention to our u18s lineups. They've certainly got things like that wrong before.

Vare is a midfielder, and looking at the lineup on google it suggests he was playing the Travis sort of role. Done well to bag 2, and that makes it 3 goals and an assist in 7.8 league games (equivalent minutes, 11 actual appearances) for the u18s this season. Only 17 years old. Made the bench for the seniors against Preston. Could be one to watch?

Perhaps - we only scored after going down to ten though, so perhaps not. Hard disagree on them having the better opportunities. Yes of course they'll be pissed off, you always are when you concede an equaliser at the death. -

Poor teams who are only 2 places behind us? Poor teams who have the league's top scorer, as well as another quality player like Sargent? -

I think we weren't 'horrific' by any stretch, it was an even game and the draw was the fair outcome. -

We were lucky Hyam got away with that, I think the officials didn't see it or surely he'd have gone, but I disagree Dennis' first was anything more than a yellow. Seen them given though. But I was talking about the balance of play. Norwich definitely got some joy from the officials by the end. But I was going off the balance of play. -

That red has done us, we were well on top til that and looked like we had a chance of sneaking it. Dennis has been an awful signing. The second yellow was harsh, but 20k a week, has barely played, done nothing, cost us this match and suspended for another. -

Disagree. Draw would be fair, but neither side winning would be 'daylight robbery'. Even game. -
Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach

These dollopers have had us up in 5th and 6th for quite a while. And there's likely to be no real budget to replace them with non-dollopers in the summer. -
Watched Alien: Romulus the other night. Thought it was really good, the best Alien film in years.

Do we think it's managing the famous Blackburn Rovers, or touching Harry Pickering's hand, that is giving Valerien a stonking erection in that first picture? -
What a blinding player. By which I mean he made me want to blind myself.
-
Do you mean under pressure? He has two players closing him down, and even the tweet you've posted describes it as under pressure. It also doesn't go out of play, but his final pass is to the opposition as he's ran out of options. He made a mistake for sure, there was an opportunity briefly to cut the ball slightly inside then play it to the man moving forward in the middle. But nobody is perfect and for sure you could find a clip of Wharton doing something as bad. I do think Rice is a little overrated from what I've seen, but I'm going to be honest and say I've seen far too little to make a judgement.

Moreover, a perfectly harmless letter. I would understand if the letter actually contained anything objectionable, but I can't even see the problem. It's only one or two cloud shouters as far as I've seen, but it's one of the strangest things I've seen people complain about on here. -

What a bizarre reaction to a pretty standard letter saying he's happy to be here, respects our history and wants us to be committed and resilient going forward. The club has been a right mess lately, but you're just looking for something to get mad at now. I actually thought you were being sarcastic at first. -

Personally, I can't wait to find out what aspect of his speech will be identified as being used too regularly and become an inane stick to beat him with when things don't go well. Will he be a 'you know', type? Or a 'absolutely', '100%', 'give it a right good go', 'in that way' aficionado? Will he say Blackburn instead of Rovers? Or will people just get annoyed with his French accent or marginally imperfect English? What absolutely non-football-related thing will it be? Exciting times, looking forward to seeing what loads of people get their knickers pointlessly in a twist about! -

Travis and Dolan don't need any effort or commitment bringing to their game. Cantwell and Buckley do. So it could be good for them in that sense, if they can rise to meet the challenge. -
Seems mad our new manager is signed to a longer deal than most (all?) of our players. How come we can give him a deal til 2028 when it could very easily go tits up with him (and you need to pay off a manager when that happens, you can't simply bench him), but seemingly not to even our best, most reliable players? Even Kargbo and Ribeiro only got relatively short deals and they only just rocked up.
-
I think we'll get bummed playing a high defensive line.

As much as I hate those pricks, I disagree on this. Lowe won his first game as caretaker, so it makes sense to keep him for the second. He won that too, so it makes sense to keep him for the third. He lost that convincingly, so now it makes sense to make the appointment. I don't see much of a problem with how this has been handled, we won 2 out of the last 3 after only having won 2 of the last 11 (in the league). It worked, and also gave time to conduct the process more thoroughly (in theory...fuck knows what they actually did it in practice) and for more candidates to become available or make their interest known.

Quite a lot of those carrying injuries.
