  1. We definitely turned a WBA bid of 12 mil down, that’s not from the Sun etc it was straight from the horses mouth, papers were saying more but it was 12 mil.
  2. Forgot Paul Round very good friend of Stuart.
  3. Quite a few ex Rovers at Stuart’s funeral, Duggie,Faz, Beamo,Jonny Byrom, Gordon Taylor, his best mate at Rovers Kevin Hird, John Kenyon and a few fringe players.
  4. Aye, probably should have said last season and half of this one, think he’s improved considerably since a couple of years ago, when he put in some lacklustre performances, but no one can complain about his performances last couple of years.
  5. Probably our best player this season, till he got the horrendous injury, still think O’Neil will try to sign him for Stoke.
  6. Bit harsh, seemed to me he was saying Warnock was the smarter manager, the facts at the end of the season proved he wasn’t.
  7. Yep,pretty sure it’s one of those reasons ?
  8. Let’s hope someone down there comes up with a decent sponsor and if they have known a while, something might already be in place.( eternal optimist) lol.
  9. Why blame the club at every opportunity, looks same has happened to Southampton and another unarmed premier club, hindsight great, who was to know a pandemic was two years off, we could have picked someone else and the same could have happened. No one, only the club have the details Let’s wait and see what happens, and how can they announce something they might not have known about. Unfortunately there is a major recession in this country and world wide.
  10. Could be why no kit out yet
  11. Not sure you can compare Venkys with Abramovich who is obviously a multi billionaire, everyone can see that every year on the rich list. Not sure anybody seen the Venkys in any rich list, obviously they are wealthy and could very well be billionaires but no one knows. All companies have been affected with coved 19, massively, and not sure they are just going to put millions into Rovers when they have many firms to sort out, be nice for us if they would, but think it’s going to be a bit tighter this season till things get back to normal. Hopefully some sort of budget but if we have to wheel and deal, so be it, as long as they keep chucking in a few quid to keep us going day to day, we will have to put up with it, because I don’t think there is anybody out there to buy us with pots of cash.
  12. Remember last summers transfer window, folk going on how we should take a leaf out of Stokes buying policy, bought 6 in 1 week all supposedly decent players, inc Lindsay, didn’t turn out as expected, manager soon sacked and flitting around bottom of league most of season. We can’t compete financially with Stoke but doesn’t always mean they end up with a better side. Think I would sign this Lindsay guy, had some very good reviews at Barnsley . Love to sign Marshall, (don’t think will happen due to age) and Pears as back up. Striker we are linked with in Germany, and love to see Cunningham back. Keep all our players and think we would have a decent side.
  13. Terrible manager, so you rate him more than Mowbray, half a season to save Stoke failed, then took Ipswich down to 3rd tier and failed to get promoted, and not the most amicable bloke, can’t see why a few would have back.
  14. Never said that we shouldn’t be in the top league just we haven’t a devine right to be. Also rans are we, no, we are still competing to reach the premier league improving slowly, obviously too slow for you, AND more important not in Bury, Bolton and Wigan’s position. BTW how do you know they are billionaires, is that cash, on paper, assets, no one actually knows how much they are worth. Re the history lesson just to make you aware what it’s been like supporting Rovers apart from the glorious Jack Walker days, careful what you wish for.
  15. You obviously wasn’t around in the ‘60s/ 70s, Chaiman and directors ran the club those days, remember 1964 top of the league, div 1, after Christmas, sold our main striker Fred Pickering to Everton, came nowhere, 1966 sold best C/H in Britain Mike England, relegated, 1970 best English r/b Keith Newton sold to Everton late 70s sold another r/b John Bailey to who else Everton, Kevin Hird to Leeds. Lost 3 managers to Everton, fans used to think our board of directors had shares in Everton, so we were mostly a selling club, but you know what, it never stopped me going down to Ewood and supporting the team, never boycotted the team, and whatever happens in the future will always support the team regardless of the owners or manager.
  16. Yeah you’re right should have said since I started watching Rovers, early ‘60s, but just trying to get over that we have had a lot of seasons in the second tier, don’t get me wrong I really want us to get back with the big boys, but am also realistic seeing how long it took Leeds and Sheffield Unt to return. Re transfers, like I said it’s a very unusual year coming up with the virus, but the plus side is that it’s the same for everyone. Might even have to wheel and deal, something we haven’t needed to do the last 3 seasons, only sold 1 player for cash(Raya) Since TM arrived, but you can never second guess Venkys, no one really knows how much they are worth, but they have certainly took a hit with shares due to the current climate. Keep the faith, we have some decent youngsters coming through, just need 2/3 experienced ones to add to the squad.
  17. Oh dear, have a look at the history of BRFC think you’ll find the majority of our time has been spent in the second tier of English football, nothing wrong with that, as long as you strive to get to the top tier, but you have to do it in budget and hopefully money available. Too say Cunningham wasn’t an excellent signing because he only played 10 games, when probably most Rovers fans knew he was, tells me you can’t see a decent player, would love him to come back as we was a very decent acquisition.
  18. When you say it hasn’t worked for us, you mean we haven’t been promoted, for a club like us we have to have a balance of buying and loaning. Think with Cunningham and Tosin they were two excellent loans, shame the lad from Cardiff got a serious injury. Hardly any signings so far in the championship, think all the signings will be late on, just wish folk can have a bit of patience. We’ve seen it many times with name’s thrown in, then someone else is signed who’s not been mentioned. Personally think we’ve made steady progress in the last 3 years and if we can improve this season it will do for me. Going to be a very challenging season for every club due to the current climate, with no income coming in, and hopefully get back to normality soon as. Looking at Venkys figures and they like other firms been hit hard. The share price in 12 months has gone from a high of 1942 inr to a low in April of 580 inr, but has come back to 1052 inr last week, so let’s hope they have a few quid in their back pockets for us.
  19. Sheffield United seemed to be ok with loaning a goalkeeper..
  20. Can you give me a long list of new additions in the championship, not sure you can, let’s wait until everyone starts signing a few before we start the usual club calling.
  21. Why react to a link as though we have signed him, even if true everyone knows we need 2 goalies, could be for back up, let’s wait and see who we sign before beating up everyone at the club.
  22. Why has he signed ?
  23. You have someone lined up to buy us have you, do you actually think there are loads of rich folk, consortiums etc waiting in the wings, I don’t think so. Took us a couple of years for the Walker trust to sell us, a premier league club, only 20 odd million and a sound club. We all know what happened, mainly due to taking advice from a certain agent, unfortunately we cant turn the clock back, but folk wishing for us to go in administration, lose 12 points and get some chancer to take us forward need to get a grip. The serious money people don’t want a club like Rovers, hemorrhaging money every week.Being in the championship and steadily improving isn’t as bad as you think, sometimes better the devil you know, ask Wigan, Bolton, Bury fans.
  24. You rather have the ex Wigan owner, ex Bolton, Bury or Blackpool. Nobody’s saying hip hip hooray Venkys, but what’s happened has gone, and just grateful they keep us going.
