It’s not poor at all, Rovers tried to sign him twice in 2 different windows, the lad was desperate to come, but the club, said he wasn’t going anywhere until the end of his contract, quite within their rights as he ended up getting them promoted. Speaking to someone who was talking to Anthony Pilkington’s relation, said he really wanted to come to Rovers before signing for Wigan, and that Rovers said the reason they didn’t want to sign him,was a policy of not signing anyone over 30. So this rumour re Downing could just very well be a rumour,also thought that TM said he’d like to bolster the squad with 2/3 mid twenty’s who could go straight into the side alongside his younger ones coming through from the u/23s. when we haven’t signed anyone, you have to be a little smart, with the guys you let go, but the terms you offer, the conversation with the player shows the player if he’s going to get much game time, like I said TM knows what he’s doing, same applies for Rodwell, some fans understand, and some don’t.

Just can’t win can Mowbray in your opinion, TM played it right IMO, he’s been a very decent player for us,regardless of how many games he’s played, but the time is right for him to move on, expect one or two more under contract to move on as well to free the wage bill for new blood.

And Armstrong fee as well,quite a few thought we wouldn’t stump up for him.

Yes agree entirely with what you say, Waggot not everyone’s cup of tea but definitely the best since Williams. People need to realise he has to try and balance the books, think he and Mowbray doing an excellent job. They are certainly trying to utilise the ground 24/7 and I believe the company they have chose re hospitality want that. Was told the company’s name and they are certainly very big in the football hospitality,including a few big Premier clubs,Championship,Scotish Premiership and a couple of national venues, think Rovers have gone for the best, be interesting how it pans out on the running the concourses as well as the corporate. Looking like season tickets staying the same,looking between the lines. I would have probably tried one season, at very cheap,just to see if if they could drastically increase the volume, but obviously they aren’t sure that’s the way to go. Think the majority of fans think the club is improving slowly from the dark days, and I am looking forward to next season with hopefully some quality signings.

Think Rovers used purchasing history last season on a few occasions, with small allocations in league 1, don’t think they needed it this season, and would hope they use it against Luton next season.

We are making steady progress, obviously not quick enough for some on here, but certainly good enough for me. Perfect example after Fridays games was the Chris Wilder quote, he said Shef U in his first season got 100 points and promotion, last season 69 points, consolidation and this season 82 points and more to come. Rovers last season 96 points,promotion,this season probably around 60/62 consolidation, not a million miles away from their record and hopefully kick on next season.
