Correct, obviously we can’t have everyone a success, but most of the signings are pretty decent, and hopefully Brereton will prove a few wrong. But let’s face it nobody, especially on here as a fan should be making any judgment on a player who has made a couple of sub appearances.
-
Yeah find it strange how anybody can say either way on Brereton after a couple of games, but I tend to lean towards Mowbray before people on here who have already made their minds up that he a duffer, strange world.
-
Totally agree with all points?
-
Contradicting yourself there my friend, saying Pep,Fergie, Jose etc signed duds, which they have done, but I dont think their judgment came into question, so why should Mowbrays, did you think Kenny had lost it signing Dickens, no you didn’t. Anyway if you aren’t that keen on TM who would your choice be to take us to the next level, should be interesting.
-
Apologies for butting in your and Chaddys comments, just wondering when you say you easily spot those players with something in their locker, why then, do you think Mowbray and his coaches scouts etc, think they have spotted something, who have probably seen a lot more of him than us, and please don’t mention him in the Alan Shearer mould, he was an unbelievable one off.
-
Very true ?⚽️
-
Ah, we agree on something, you’re dead right, we’ve had some rubbish, that’s the point Im trying to make, this guy seems to know what he’s talking about.
-
Sorry Matty is that directed to me or someone else, in my view not too bad, see you’ve quoted the top price, but £179 for half season is pretty reasonable, with obvious cheaper prices for concessions. If you were talking to me, Im very sorry if you think I’m trying to shut anyone down, don’t mean to, I just seem to think some on here try to shut me down who doesn’t agree with my view, I do respect other views, but I am passionate about Rovers and honestly think they are doing a reasonable job all round, obviously some things can be improved on, but on the whole think, at the moment it’s being well run.
-
Wonder why a premier league club didn’t sign Dack, for the peanuts we paid, wonder why WBA offered 15 mil for him, tell you why, they didn’t gamble, first few games we had fans saying not sure about this Dack, in league 1, they were wrong. Same with Brereton, 7 mil was the price Mowbray (not the owners) thought he was worth, time will tell, you and others already made your minds up. Mowbray tries to be clever, that clever he’s running at nearly 51% win rate. If that’s a steady Eddie in your view, fair enough, a tad silly in my view. Waggott, Closing the Darwen end, brilliant idea,, imv. Re Rovers pricing strategy, probably middle of the league. And I’ll quote your mate Parsons, best chief ex since Williams, which I agree with, or was he another you weren’t keen on.
-
First time I’ve mentioned Parson on here, think it was you who started that one, saying he hasn’t posted recently, I tell you what though, your last sentence free season tickets for all, there’s people on here would have a moan at that, thinking some conspiracy going on, and T’ra to you!
-
Try looking in the season ticket section, Parson agrees with me re Waggot, best Chief ex since Williams, turned club round, people like you and the rest seem to moan in every topic just for the sake of arguing, you’re never happy, decent average half season tickets, I honestly don’t know what you lot would be like if we were bottom of the league with a crap manager and Chief ex, don’t be saying Parson is different from me because he isn’t, he might not bite and shout back at you and others, but he’s a very positive person who thinks someone is eventually turning the club round, after years of neglect.
-
Certainly agree with your last two words, it’s very odd.
-
With Mowbrays record since he’s been at Rovers you don’t half come out with some rubbish, obviously you’ve made your mind up on a handful of cameo appearances, why are you saying it’s pointless to debate with Chaddy, because he’s different views from you, you do know it might be you that’s wrong, along with your gang, you’ve watched Rovers a long time you say, doesn’t mean you’re right, need to respect other people’s more positive views, thought we could all have a shout on here, just seems to me that myself,Chaddy Parsons etc if fact anyone who supports what Mowbray,Waggot are doing to turn this brilliant club round just get shouted down.
-
Certainly agree, with your comments but think most on here will disagree.
-
No, I’m not into that thinking, think Venkys have learnt their lesson, and I personally wouldn’t think Mowbray would go along with that, I certainly think the owners and Mowbray have agreed to buy young, with potential and all that, and think he will end up a decent signing. I just can’t fathom out all these fans saying he is definitely a duffer, no doubt about it, it’s because it’s cost 6/7 mil, no one knew at the start off the season we would be paying out that sort of money, and fans think he has to be a world beater straight away because of the fee, but I can’t believe they can’t trust Mowbray with the record he’s had since he’s been here, fans like Mercer when I asked him re Mowbray, he said he’s a steady eddie, but not the man to take us forward, he should have kept us up 2 seasons ago, think he got around 22/23 points from 15 games, beat Brentford last game away, went down with a points total which has nearly always keeep you safe. After a slow start in league 1, then blitzed it, 96 points, started very well this season, it’s beyond comprehension that some fans know better than Mowbray.
-
But true?
-
Without everybody jumping on to me saying in Mowbray we trust,( old hat) Ive give my reasons many times why I think it will be a decent investment, whether it’s this season or next, but just find your comments saying you find simply absurd that Mowbray has sanctioned the deal, very strange and without any foundation I will leave you with this stat. Mowbray at Rovers. managed 89 won 45 drawn 28 lost 16 Think it works out at just over 50% win rate, lose 1 every 5.5 games ,that’s the best record of any Rovers manager in 143 years. Yes I know one of those seasons has been in league 1,but we’ve been there before. I just think he wouldn’t have sanctioned the deal, unless he thought he was getting a decent player, and you have to respect that record, and no, not saying he’s perfect in everything he does, but after the dross in managers we’ve had in recent years, I will trust him better than most, time will tell.
-
But no one seems to mention Armstrong playing wide, sometimes it comes off like Leeds, other games like yesterday he didn’t do it. Just because he was 6/7 mil if Graham and Dack are doing it, he will have too wait, or he’d have to change the system, Mowbray has bought him for the future, could be this season might be next, still early to make predictions but I think he will make it.
-
Strange isn’t it, peoples different opinions of the players, you say Evans offers nothing, while he had a quiet game yesterday, he’s played out of his skin this season, Palmer played pretty well last week thought he didn’t do anything when he came on yesterday, 4 points against decent opposition in last two games with QPR in top form, I’ll settle for that.
-
Still wouldn’t drop Graham or Dack, if starting him he would have to start wide right, and bide his time.
-
Yeah, will probably have to see a few more games, before we make up our minds, and once he starts games we get a better idea, I’d like him to start next week, think a team like Rotherham could be a good game for him to be eased in, but probably be on the bench.
-
Well the fact that many Forest fans didn’t want him to leave, the clips I’ve seen of him at Forest, not just down the middle, the game he destroyed Arsenal, and the many plaudits who thought he could end up costing 10/12 mil, and going to a top club,it’s called potential, oh and Mowbray rates him as well.
-
Think comparing him with Duff, is a little unfair, I do remember him small blond lad from Ireland, certainly was around then and a bit further back, To give you a clue I remember the other Irish winger, Joe Haverty, now that goes a long way back. I know you said you go back to jolly Jack, but I go back one further Dally Duncan, so we are both knocking on and seen probably more matches than most on here, not sure if you saw Fred Pickering play, now he stared in the youth cup final as a full back at 18, next couple of seasons moved up front, banged a load of goals in, record transfer to Everton, scored hat trick on his England debut, point being you couldn’t tell at that age what he could do, just saying give Brereton a chance before making your mind up, regardless of transfer fee.
-
Well it ain’t point scoring from me, how some posters have made their mind up he is useless, is the bizarre bit, like most normal folk need a bit more time to assess the lad, and to start comparing him to Duff like Mercer is banging on, is crazy.
-
Well if you’ve done all that, how can you make an assessment on Brereton you’ve hardly seen him play, how you can say he’s a dud already is really a silly statement, I don’t know yet if he’ll turn out a good ‘un or not, too early, as I’ve said many times I believe Mowbray on this issue before you, mind you he’s a football manager and you’re an accountant, big difference. So you might think I talk nonsense, but the comments you come out with, I think it’s you who talks the nonsense, I am surprised you’ve watched Rovers through thick and thin and still come out with the comments you do, anyway looks like we both talk nonsense with very different views.
