My sentiments exactly Roverthemoon. It's called double standards. As in all walks of life, some people think it's ok to constantly dish out ######, but boy do they squeal when the tables are turned. Tossers. As far as captain goes I don't think he should be, simply because he's expressed a desire to leave.

Remember, the question says AFTER 94/95. Therefore, it can't be Richard Brown. He played just 2 games in 92-93 -

How about Darren Peacock -
I was in that stand behind the goal. Was told later by someone that they were sure the stand was moving, so you may be right Alan75. Was there a press/photographers strike on or something? That's why you never see any pics.of that wonderful evening. Anyone remember "super linesman"?

Why do people keep refering to £15 tickets as cheap? It's LESS in comparision to some other clubs but it's not cheap. Everyone's been brainwashed by the grossly over inflated ticket prices in recent years. £15 should be maximum. It's only a football match. And yes, I was there last night -

He retired from Rovers at the end of 68-69 season, Den. However,66-67 was the last seaon where he had a "proper" season. He only played a handful of games over the final two seasons, because of injury which ultimately finished his career at top level. -
Here's an extract from Blackburn Rovers - The Official Encyclopedia by Mike Jackman (By the way does anyone know if I infringe copyright terms by doing this?) ROGERS, Eamon Midfield. 1962-1971 5ft 9in 11st 5lb Born: Dublin, 16th April 1947 Debut: v Stoke City (a) 8th September 1965 Career: Larkview (Dublin junior Club); Blackburn Rovers apprentice August 1962, turning professional in May 1965; Charlton Athletic Oct. 1971 (£7,777 plus Barry Endean); Northamton Town on loan 1972. International honours with Blackburn Rovers: Republic of Ireland; 14 caps (1967-71); Rep. of Ire Under23; 1 cap (1966) Appearances: football League 159 +6; FA Cup 4; Fottball League Cup 14; Total 177+6 Goals: Football League 30; Football League Cup 9; Total 39 A versatile player, Eamon Rogers originally played at outside-left before finally settling into a midfield role. Rogers fitted the 1960’s image to perfection. Long hair, sometimes seen with beard or moustache and always with the obligatory shirt outside of his shorts. However, beneath his dishevelled appearance was a rare talent. A small but stocky character, Rogers could use his skill or strength to power his way through an opposing defence. Capable of dazzling dribbles, he possessed the most delicate of touches and yet was a hard tackler. He also had an eye for goal and for a time he was used as a striker by Eddie Quigley. Ironically, it was his very versatility that proved to be his undoing at Ewood. With the sale of Keith Newton to Everton, Quigley selected Rogers to play at right back and the temperamental Irishman promptly refused. Although he was persuaded to play a couple of matches in that position, he made it clear that he did not wish to become permanent right back. When he refused to play again, he was axed from the team by Quigley. Restored to midfield for the 1970-71 season, Rogers appeared to become rather disillusioned with life at Ewood following the club’s relegation to the Third division. As a regular in the Republic of Ireland side, he did not want to see his international future jeopardised by Third Division football. When Ken Furphy arranged an exchange deal with Charlton Athletic, Rogers was more than willing to move to London. Sadly the move was not a success and after a brief spell on loan with Northampton Town, Rogers faded from the League scene. Despite his undoubted talents, Rogers remained an enigma throughout his career; a man who was capable of genius, but one who was fickle and unpredictable.

Eddie Crossan was before my time. Here's an extract from Mike Jackman's book, Blackburn Rovers - The Official Encyclopedia. CROSSAN, Edward Inside-forward. 1947-1957 5ft 6in; 10st Born. Londonderry, 17th Nov. 1925 Appearances: Football league 287; FA Cup 15; Total 302 Goals: League 73; FA Cup1; Total 74. Eddie Crossan was a gifted Irishman who graced Ewood Park in the 1950’s and who, with greater dedication, would surely have won more than three international caps. The mercurial Crossan possessed incredible natural ability and quickly became a favourite with the Blackburn public. His brilliant close control enabled him to mesmerise opponents with his silky skills. Yet, sadly, Crossan was a flawed diamond. As with so many other brilliant individualists, lack of consistency proved to be his Achilles’ heel. Although he scored 73 League goals , many of them outstanding efforts, Crossan is still remembered as the man who missed most frequently from close range. Whatever his flaws, Crossan revelled in the most successful forward line that the club has ever produced. He left the club in 1957, when age was beginning to blunt his skills and played for Tranmere Rovers for a season before returning to his native Ireland.

The station was going to be near Longworth Street, I think? Residents' objections were upheld, so the proposal was scrapped. -

Believe it or not I've still got the Evening Telegraph with report & pics. I would have been on the train but 'cos we played Everton in FA Cup the week after, I got a lift with mates instead, Ewood first for our tickets, then on to Carlisle. -
Think I've still got the goals on tape
