[Archived] Should Dunny Have Come Home?
Roar of the Rover replied to blinddevotion's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Dunny was amazing yesterday, he showed lots of passion like a boyhood fan should do, for example Steven Gerrard. Petr Cech made a top class save to deny him late in the first half. I can also remeber him going into 3 tackles and nearly all 3 Chelsea players were on the floor. We all know what he's capable of and it was just a matter of time yesterday. -
I can't wait for Spiderman 3, the trailer came on before 300 and i just got so excited, if anyone is planning to watch it, i would watch it at Manchester IMAX

Look how much pressure Sven was under when he was in charge? more than McClaren as he was foriegn but yet still he didn't do what McClaren did yesterday when he walked away from the press, i'm sorry to say but he hasn't got the balls to handle that pressure and thats only because he's English. He's just not good enough, he tried to get in to the 'good' books of the media by listening to them by dropping David Beckham and other things. We're going to have some tough times ahead of us soon with him in charge. -
I watched 300 yesterday in Manchester IMAX, it was amazing!! 9/10

Great win , very important 3 points as we have Arsenal away and Liverpool at home! i think McCarthy's gonna miss the Arsenal game after picking up a yellow today, but have to give credit to the lads, worked there socks off , did'nt let Reading have a decent chance in the 2nd half. -

Lucas has been used as a scapegoat just because we are'nt getting the results, why were'nt peple booing him earlier in the season?? He's played his heart out for us, but i'll be the first to admit that yesterday he was not at the races, what else do you expect after the kind of reception he got on Saturday? Lucas is one of our best defenders, he attacks really well too, that goal yesterday proved it , it was like a strikers finish Finally i would like to thank Lucas for his hard work and wish him all the best if he leaves in January! -

Roar of the Rover replied to ihtd's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
i've said it before and i'll say it again, we need a striker with PACE, once 1 of our defenders hoofs the ball upfront we need a striker to latch onto it, if the striker cant, then he can still put the defender under pressure and the defender may just kick out of play. But the problem this season is McCarthy and Nonada both dont have pace and they are not as commited as Bellamy was, so when we do hoof the ball upfront, the opposition collect it and hoof it back again towards our defenders. This puts our defenders under pressure. So , a pacey striker is very important, not only can it create goals it can also take pressure off our defenders. -

i do have a record of attending games at Ewood, but i always buy 2 tickets for myself and my brother, but i need 6 tickets, which i doubt they'll let me purchase. But what i hate about this policy is they always look at how many tickets i purchase, for example i wantd 4 tickets for the Wigan game at home this season but they only sold me 2, i asked the lady please can you give me 4 and still she refused. I told her its not like we're going to sell out? and you'de rather have 2 seats with people on it than 2 empty seat's, but she just would'nt give em me. -

Way off topic, but why on earth can't i buy Liverpool Tickets online, went on the official Rovers website then clicked 'Book Online', searched for ticktes and theres no option of Liverpool, they've only got Newcastle, i'm sure Liverpool tickets have gone on sale. -
[Archived] Charlton V Blackburn
Roar of the Rover replied to Eddie's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Todays performance shows that we need a pacey striker or atleast a pacey player in the team, there is no one in the team with pace. The amount of pressure Charlton put on was too much to cope for our defenders, we just had to counter attack, but we have Shabani Nonda who cant really run to be honest, he has'nt replaced Bellamy. Last season in the same game we were 1-0 up, they came out in the 2nd half with the same amount of pressure, but we had Bellamy, he ran down the field, passed it to a winger, i think it was Pedersen and then ran back into the box and bang, game over! -

It should be an easy win but we have to make sure we get the first goal, 3-1 to rovers with McCarthy scoring twice and MGP scoring the other. -
Great performance, only let down was MGP, he missed a sitter, by his standards anyway and he also gave the ball away alot of times. The only thing winding me up is how on earth did Benni McCarthy not get any bonus points in Fantasy Football, he had a very good game, should have atleast had 2 points, he's my captain you see its still winding me up
