Venky’s & Waggott Out Protest Ideas
MarkBRFC replied to DuffsLeftPeg's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
That twitter account is this guy by the way... https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/9169044.rebel-rovers-fans-set-fc-blackburn/ So he's gone from wanting to set up a rival club 14 years ago to being venkys number one fan now. Strange eh? -
It's great to point the finger at them for anything, but I imagine pretty much any club's fans in the country would have done similar. Football fans in general can't help themselves when it comes to things like that.
-
Coventry play at 12:30 on Saturday, so if they win it's down to one spot, Bristol don't play until Monday night.

He will have to be offered a new deal on at least the same terms as he's on now for us to get compensation for him in the summer. -
3rd post I have seen you say that. Agent's will do the rounds to watch there players all the time, maybe have a catch up. It will have nothing to do with him signing a new deal here.
-
There is no negotiation, the option might have a slightly higher base salary than the original contract, all depends what was drawn up at the the time Hyam signed. I don't think any of them 4 players sign new deals. Can say what he wants, Travis, Tronstad and Brittain have all come out in the past two weeks saying how much they would like to stay. Doesn't matter a jot if we won't offer them the going rate to stay.
-
We have renegotiated one new contract for a first team player in the last 16 months which was Riberio. Hyam doesn't count as there was literally no negotiation for that to happen. I imagine Hedges will have his option triggered fairly soon too. We aren't all of a sudden going to sign up 2 or 3 of those players you mentioned. At best I can see one or two of Weimann Batth and Forshaw possibly signing new one year deals. Dolan, Brittain, Tronstad, Travis and Hyam, will not sign fresh terms, because the club won't pay the going rate for experienced, established 24-28 year old players at this level.

Due to Sunderland taking there foot off the gas I think we will win this just to keep that hope alive for a little longer. -
How do we know he would have been playing? By going to Spurs and them choosing his loan club, has probably secured his minutes for the past two seasons. He might have been on the bench most weeks here. Of course he has bettered his career by leaving here for Spurs.
-
I imagine most who are renewing will do so at the end of this month when they get paid. Be surprised if it's more than a few thousand at this stage though.
-
Yes. He has probably more than quadrupled his wage, and has played at this level for two solid years anyway. What would he have gained by staying here?
-
There probably would have been a fair few walk ons the other day with it being Good Friday and folk wanting to get out and watch a game. A load of pissed off ST holders probably swerved it. As in tickets sold the attendance was probably correct, even though there was nowhere near that in the stadium.
-
And he's ended up playing at exactly the same level as us anyway for the past two seasons, all while getting paid a hell of a lot more. Good on him.
-
They do, but not a chance they will.
-
https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25102098.blackburn-star-perfect-afternoon-message-future/ Callum Brittain saying he's had no talks about a new deal. So the 3 that Gestede told Elliot we are talking to, all of them have now come out in the past couple of weeks saying no talks have taken place.
-
I would be amazed if any of them sign new contracts. They just won't be offered the going rate for experienced championship players in there positions.
-
So another 6 months of bills paid. Good on him for getting out of this circus at the first opportunity I say.
-
What benefit would we have got if he signed a 5 year deal and he joined Spurs for £10m this summer instead?
-
I'm guessing you, like me Matty know plenty who have stopped going and very rarely or if at all bother now. One or two do a few aways a season for a day on the ale but some haven't stepped foot into Ewood for years despite still following very closely, watching TV and knowing all the ins and outs etc. I tried it once before when we employed Coyle, I just couldn't bring myself to get a season ticket that year and it's nothing at all to do with any dingle connections just a rank bad appointment where it was clear he wasn't going to be up to it and thought someone was genuinely taking the piss out of me. Still ended up buying a fair few match tickets that season though and couldn't quite kick it. My near 15 year old is Rovers obsessed and that's my reason for renewing as who knows what will happen in the next few years, he might lose interest, or go off to a uni at the other side of the country or something. If nothing has changed i don't see myself renewing if my lad cant/doesn't want to go.
-
Fair enough. Everyone has there reasons to do what they want. I'll be renewing too and no matter how loud anyone shouts on here or in real life, it won't change my stance at all.
-
Why, out of interest?

When it goes full circle and Bury are at the same level as us again, which will happen as i think they will get to the football league in the next 4/5 years or so and we'll either be 3rd/4th division by then, there will still be some saying "but we could end up like them".
