So to clarify, and don't answer in riddles please - Do you think the kick off is a suitable time for most people to go? Do you agree with the club marketing junior ticket prices when most will be at school? (No nonesense about inset days)

Be amazed if he gets any kind of run. He has Armstrong, Holtby, Downing, Rothwell, and probably Samuel & Brereton when fully fit ahead of him for the wide positions.
-
Perfect example of that, against Huddersfield I think it was. Injury time free kick just outside the area, Dack and Williams stood over it, after a few minutes of messing about, Dack side foots it straight into the middle of the wall, about chest height.

Season Tickets 2019/2020
MarkBRFC replied to blueboy3333's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Yeah that is a fair point, and is the reason why I don't think it will ever happen. I do think they are missing a trick though. One of the nearest clubs to where I live is Port Vale, and they offer all kinds of flexi season ticket options, 6 game, 10 game, 15 game. They are all slightly more expensive pro rata per game than a full season ticket, but they work for people who can't make it every week and are still cheaper than buying on a match by match basis. -
Season Tickets 2019/2020
MarkBRFC replied to blueboy3333's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Completely agree, to be honest that would suit me down to the ground as I rarely make midweek games, and will probably miss the two games over Christmas this year. I probably make an average of 14/15 home games a season despite having a season ticket, so it's something I would definitely look at. -
January transfer window 2020
MarkBRFC replied to GunnerRover7's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I'm probably wrong, but I can only recall Travis and Reed playing in central midfield together twice last season. Wigan at home and Derby at home, both resounding victories in that horrific run in February/March. -
Footballers are right babys these days. He should have been sent home from the squad if that's what has happened, never mind dropped for one game.

January transfer window 2020

Our next win will be Wigan at Ewood. -
Ainsworth would become our Nathan Jones, and is only being mentioned because he's a Rovers lad. Whilst we're at it, why are we not mentioning Darren Ferguson, Joey Barton or Mark Robin's for the job? All also doing well in the third tier, but I think we already know the answer to that. This bunch of players need an authority figure to come in, get rid of the holiday camp personality our players have, stop the week long breaks at international time etc. I see us as a similar position now to what we were in 2000 when Souness came in, some good players who aren't meeting there potential, who need an identity and a way to play, and also a few key additions to the side. Who we get as a "modern version" of Souness though I have no idea. There is no way our bunch of millionaires are listening or respecting what Gareth Ainsworth has to say unfortunately, in there eyes he would be a "never was".

Because nobody who has any power, knows or cares what is happening on the pitch. Now if we're stranded in the bottom 3 in March, someone might think "oh we might need to do something here".

52 points from 45 games since last seasons Preston horror show now. Scored 64, Conceded 72 in that amount of time. Mowbray is very lucky he's at a club where nobody really cares what is going on for me, he wouldn't be surviving that record over that amount of games at many other clubs I think.

Leeds (A) - Same as last year lads... kind of.
MarkBRFC replied to a topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Nobody's bothered anyway, guessing all the lads will have a week off now to jet off to Dubai or wherever, before we come back and get "focused" for the Barnsley game. -

I'll bet you a meat and potato pie that Downing will be in the middle with Trav, Holtby will be on the right and Armstrong will be on the left. Unchanged side though, nearly fell of my chair when I read that. -

Same with Bolton in the mid 00's. 3 seasons on the trot there we struggled to shift 1500 tickets. Again I think they tried to take the piss with prices a bit, but theres nothing as strange as a Rovers away following. -

Never as many as 8k. From the mid 80s to the mid 90s though we always took somewhere between 3 and 5k. Remember going in 2002 after we had come back up and hardly anyone went, away followings at Leeds seemed to drop dramatically at that time, and never recovered. (Although nowadays its down to pricing I'd say) -
Doesn't mean he doesn't talk shit in the LET though.

I do think some people tend to over egg how good our squad is. I do think we have some good players, and as said before I think we're definitely hampered by some poor management, but you only have to look at the defensive options in this squad to know that even the mighty Alex Neil wouldn't have this side in the top 6. As for Saturday, maybe we have a spring in our step after finally scoring an injury time winner last weekend, be delighted if we come away with a 1-1. £40 though is crazy, last time I went to Leeds was on New Years day 2014, think we won 2-1, think the ticket was £36 and only went as it was a chance for a bit of a session with some lads who I hadn't seen for a while. I can't get my head around anyone paying £40 for a nothing second division match, but each to there own. -
Wheres that come from?
-
Fair enough. I quite like the thought of Arma, Dack and Rothwell as the "attacking 3" with Travis & Holtby behind them if we are to persist with the 4231. I do look forward to seeing if your predictions about Buckley come true, I hope they do.
-
Indeed, I always find it fascinating debating football as two people rarely see everything the same. Where would you play Holtby out of interest? I see him as an attacking central midfielder coming from deep who can chip in with the odd goal, play a killer pass, and who can put his foot in aswell rather than a number 10 type player who plays off the forward, if you look at his career stats he doesn't score enough goals for a number 10, and please dont go all Mowbray on me and suggest he should play as a wide forward! Think Travis and Holtby would make a cracking midfield pair if given 10/12 games together.
-
I'll take this bet, there is no way Travis & Buckley will be our two regular central midfielders by christmas, or even this season. It would be madness anyway when we have Holtby on the books, he really should be in that position with Travis.
-
@Paul Mani i noticed you said earlier that you expect Buckley to be a regular starter by Christmas. If so, where does he play? I personally dont think he'll be a regular starter for a good while yet, if ever.
-
I can certainly see your reasoning with most of this post, and would be inclined to agree, but the bit in bold, is never, ever going to happen, and for me is the most frustrating thing about the Mowbray regime so far.

Tickets for Rovers vs Swansea Feb 29th

If he's getting a taxi anyway, I think I'd rather get a taxi to Livesey and drink in a few real pubs than drink in the Postal Order, but each to there own I guess. -

I think it's a category B game, so tickets will set you back somewhere between £22/£29 depending where you want to sit. Think there are two trains an hour to Blackburn from Manchester, one is slightly long winded though that goes through Accrington etc. Pubs, a few down Livesey branch road, Lord Raglan, White Bull, Brown Cow, Moorgate, Fox and Hounds should see you right for a few pre match pints, Only about a 10/15 minute walk from the Lord Raglan past all the other pubs to Ewood.
