  1. I've only missed the Hull game so far this season, and even that I watched on TV. I have seen no evidence of this "new style" so far, apart from as someone else said, a few non descript passes across the back four, into midfield and back again before playing either a long diagonal ball to Gallagher or one through the middle to Graham if he's playing, instead of Lenihan pinging it forward at the first opportunity like he would normally do last season. It really was very Mowbray like that after all his pre season jabbering about being more "technical" that within 5 seconds of the opening day of the season, we kicked off, played it back to Lenihan who then lumped it straight out of play. The 4 home games so far including the Oldham game have been really, really dull, and I don't see that changing anytime soon, any walk on's that attended any of those games will hardly be rushing out to buy a season ticket. I look at this side at the moment and I haven't a clue who is going to score our goals, we don't remotely look like scoring from open play unless the other team practically gives us a goal, Bennett at right back and strikers on the wings is becoming more infuriating with every game that goes past, Buckley looks to be the next Mowbray project that he will continually shoehorn in off the bench now, he just looks like a slightly more "technical" as Mowbray would put it Corry Evans, I can't ever see him changing a game, he should have been sent on loan somewhere for some much needed experience. If we get above 12th for a prolonged amount of time this season I will be amazed.
  2. And we're one of them. I'd be very surprised if we weren't bogged down between 12th-16th all season.
  3. Really? Based on what?!
  4. Well, they did. Why sugar coat it? "Because they are young lads"? They looked miles out of there depth against really poor fourth division opposition, and both had awful games. That's not to say they won't improve in the future, but if we're looking at that game, then yes they were terrible. Platt has just gone on loan to The National League hasn't he? That's probably his level, and good luck to him there. Nyambe was awful too I will give you that, but I've seen more of him to suggest he has some of the tools to at least make it at this level.
  5. Draw written all over it this one.
  6. Easily one of my faves too, probably in my top 3 or 4. I always wondered how much better that 02/03 side that finished 6th would have done with a fully fit Jansen In the squad.
  7. Player wages. Cost of match day tickets, nowhere should be more than £20 for the "working mans game" Players not being played in there correct positions.
  8. No, both of them looked terrible.
  9. Groundhog day. The exact same positions need addressing as the Summer 18 window, the January 19 window, and the Summer 19 window.
  10. Pretty sure we can still sign free agents?
  11. He might aswell go away with them and play some football, because isn't going to play here.
  12. Did we put Huddersfield as a category A game at start of the season?
  13. Have to agree. Before Tuesday you could see why he hadn't scored in 20 odd games. If he stays on the right hand side he wont hit double figures, play him through the middle every game and stop messing about then he might do.
  14. Why? Both young players with potential, signed for practically nothing, both will probably never be regular first team players with us, doubtful if they will ever play regularly at this level either, one already sold for a profit & Chapman will probably go the same way. I expect him to go on loan in Jan and move on a permanent next summer. He will never be a regular here.
  15. Really cheap deal for a player with obvious potential, good U23 games, few eye catching cup games and sub appearances, sell on for a small profit. See Nuttall, Joe.
  16. To be honest I thought it was as clear as day when he signed him that he wouldn't get a look in. Fully expect him to go out on loan in Jan, can't see him starting a game here before that.
  17. We can't score goals. WBA 2 Rovers 0
  18. Don't we want this though? One of my biggest gripes with Mowbray was that he always come across too "nice". I don't want a nice man as manager, I want a winner who will snap when the time is right.
  19. They were having you on, I bought a pie and and a horrible bottle of Heineken there with cash.... Looking forward to a trip to Birmingham on Saturday, could be interesting with Stoke in the city aswell ? Not in Tony's mind he isn't.
  20. I have to agree with this, I dealt with Indians every day in my previous job and they will literally do anything to save face, cover up etc, mostly through lying through there back teeth.
  21. Yeah I was going to say, nothing to do with Chapman being injured, he's played enough under 23's and behind closed doors pre season matches now, it's just that Mowbray doesn't fancy him. I was always baffled when people thought that because we bought him that TM was going to use him regularly, he didn't trust him as a starter in league one, he wasn't suddenly going to play him every week a league higher, I said at the time, I reckon that we got him so cheap in the end that the end game was that he would be a star for the under 23's, might make a few sub appearances over time, then make a little profit on him, Similar to Nuttall.
  22. We played well last night, not a lot you can really fault from the performance apart from actually testing the keeper, our goalkeeper & Smallwood. Dreadful players that really shouldn't be playing for us again if we want to progress. The biggest thing is though, we are struggling to score goals, far too many "cute" attempts at through balls and making that final pass, we were trying to walk it in at times. I also don't see this changing anytime soon, we're in for a long frustrating season on that front I think. From what I have seen of Buckley he has looked like a lost school boy, but I thought he played well last night, some real quick feet at times and clever passes, I think I would persevere with him rather than Rothwell at the moment, who just frustrates me. JRC was really good too, problem is I don't see him getting a look in for a few months now. I'd have him on the bench every week for now and give him some sub appearances like he has been doing with Buckley. On a last point, how far down the pecking order is Chapman now? If he can't get a run out in that sort of game he should be probably be looking to move on to get his career going again, because he isn't going to feature here.
  23. Oh Sky will be absolutely loving this, it's probably got a few extra thousand eyeballs on there channel.
  24. It isn't. Only applies to league games.
