Championship season 2019-20
MarkBRFC replied to arbitro's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
He might took us up can't argue with that, I'd also bet that he would have took us straight back down again. The clubs financial situation would look a lot better though. -
Championship season 2019-20

Apart from Newcastle, who did it twice! 1st - Cardiff 2nd - Stoke Rovers - anywhere between 12-16th Haven't a clue where the rest will finish. -
No chance I'm afraid. Imagine Smallwood & Evans out and Reed in on deadline day?! Just too good to be true unfortunately.
-
Bennett for Nyambe & Gallagher for Rothwell, and I think that's the team.
-
That doesn't sound like Mowbray ? That's definitely happening then, i'm not doubting the lad is a good player but I just don't see how he plays regular here, this whole saga will end up being a complete waste of time IMO.
-
Seems to work for Elliot Bennett?
-
Sharpe reckons that Ipswich keeper is off to Milwall so isn't happening.
-
Was around 21k on, nowhere near a sell out.
-
I think Mulgrew got injured, then TM just kept Williams in because he had a couple of good games, and the fact the games were just glorified pre season friendlys at that point. If the games had meant anything then you can bet Mulgrew would have been back in the side. We'll see on Rothwell, but if I was a betting man then I'd suggest that Mowbray will start with Armstrong, Graham & Gallagher as his front three on Saturday.
-
Completely agree with this, but we just know it will be the usual subjects until the 70th minute "trying to keep it tight" until we bring the likes of Rothwell, Brereton on etc.
-
Oh come on. Bennett and Mulgrew will be permanent first team fixtures for a long time yet and no way is Mowbray leaving out Bennett for Nyambe, now, October or May It does seem that Evan's has at least been relegated to being behind Travis and Johnson though so that's one plus. Also Rothwell, I'd say in Mowbrays head he's behind Armstrong, Gallagher & Brereton for the "wide forward" roles at the moment.
-
Yeah, that one isn't happening.
-
Yeah, Graham, Bennett & Mulgrew all play. Gallagher & Armstrong will be the "wide forwards". Rothwell is in for another frustrating 6 months I feel.
-
Chapman must be behind Armstrong, Rothwell, Brereton, Gallagher, Bennett, Downing, Buckley, Butterworth & maybe even JRC now for a starting place in our "front 3". I'd be amazed if he starts a league game before Christmas.
-
Which this guy would probably be. I can't imagine we'll part with actual cash for him.
-
If signed, he will sit on the bench for 6 months regardless of results, to "learn the Mowbray way"
-
He'd probably think "I'll put Ritchie there, he can do a job". But seriously, I'd like to think even the thought of him being injured might just trigger a reaction to go and get somebody now whilst he still can. It's no good leaving it and thinking we have plenty of young lads in reserve, then Lenihan breaks his foot against Fulham.
-
You say that, but they will just go back to the under 23s save for a couple of league cup games, no way will we see them in the match day 18 with the bloated squad that we have. Magloire, Buckley & Butterworth would all benefit from a year in league one playing every week.
-
I think it's clear that Rothwell & Brereton have been starting games with the B team during pre season, both will be on the bench for Charlton.
-
I admire your optimism that we're doing all we can to get a defender in, but the proof is in the pudding as they say. I predicted at the start of the window that Bennett and Mulgrew would start in defence against Charlton and it looks like that's what will happen. An experienced defender, to go straight into the side just isn't happening.
-
Yeah that sounds about right. For how amazing everyone thinks this Cooper is, He's still at Milwall and I've never seen anyone linked with him or any kind of fee mentioned. Is he that good or is he another hyperbole player like that Maddison at Peterborough who no matter how much everyone raves about him on here, still looks like being a league one player this season.
-
Have you made these figures up to try and make us feel better?! They are completely wrong!
-
Didnt he say "that's one we might look at" or something? I imagine he was just saying that at the time to humour people, since Bauer slipped through our fingers I don't think he's had any intention of signing a permanent half to be honest.
-
I dunno, Rothwell was only a regular for the last 7 games, and has been very much in the "B team" lineups throughout pre season. Armstrong was a regular all season and has been with his "favoured" players throughout pre season, that's why I'd suggest that Armstrong is above Rothwell in the pecking order.
