  1. I think people are saying that it's a bizarre set of events that "apparently" venkys want to spend money ASAP, but Mowbray doesn't want too and wants to wait until deadline day when apparently there will be more value for money. Never heard of such a carry on.
  2. This just sounds ridiculous, I can't get my head around Venkys knowing there is a transfer deadline day coming up. if it's true we wouldn't pay Assombalonga's wages in January, we certainly won't now. I wonder what those lads "watching numerous tapes in the back of the building somewhere" are doing now if we are just going back to old targets. What an odd setup ?
  3. You think? I was under the impression that the video was probably shot weeks ago.
  4. A red sponsor would have suited the kit I think. Also, Nyambe looks right cheesed off in that video.
  5. We are in a better postion overall to when he took over yes. It's easy to forget what a bloody mess we were in when Mowbray joined, that period under Coyle was just rotten. I do feel like we had to take a step back into league one to move the club forward, the club needed that season where we were winning most weeks, the fans reengaged with the side with some huge away followings to a lot of new places for many Rovers fans. It was a fantastic season to be a part of. Again, very easy to say that "anyone" could have lead us to promotion that year, it's a very difficult job to turn around a side that was used to losing everyweek into winners, even though admittedly the standard of opposition was poor. Look at Sunderland last year, having the biggest budged doesn't always guarantee success. Last season again was perfectly acceptable for what is was, finding our feet at that level again with some good runs and some bad. Although I do like Mowbray and think he has done ok overall, he does infuriate me at times with his constant team medalling and playing people out of position, and also the fact that he has to shoehorn his favourites in there, I personally don't think he is the man to take us any further than where we are now. At Ewood last season you could turn up at half time and know you won't have missed anything. The back four that lined up away at Burton for his first game were - Nyambe, Lenihan, Mulgrew & Williams. Nearly two and a half years later it's not ridiculous to think that could well be the defence that lines up against Charlton in a few weeks, and for me if he doesn't address it before then it is completely unacceptable.
  6. Ritchie Smallwood's hair is probably the most noteworthy thing to happen since last season finished.
  7. Bolton were winning promotion to the Championship the season we got relegated to league one?
  8. Problem is under Tony that just isn't going to happen. So selling him and hopefully replacing him with a better, experienced head might be our best option.
  9. Forster would be my choice to come in as GK. Wages would be crazy I'm guessing though
  10. Che Adams has signed for Southampton, which I presume will kick on the Gallagher deal.
  11. I very much doubt Charlie Adam will be signing. There will be out of contract players training at most clubs up and down the country to stay fit. Nothing to see here. Plus the fact that Nixon reported it probably means he's at Blackpool or something ?
  12. And that was only because they had 3 points given to them at the end of the season!
  13. The thinking is baffling though, whether we upgrade Raya or not, we still need a big imposing centre half to partner Lenihan. Williams I thought did ok there at the end of last season, but he is not a long term option there.
  14. Yeah, I'd be amazed if he's here this time next year, wouldn't you?
  15. Gallagher (if it happens) with Brereton just off him will probably be our front two on the opening day of the 20/21 season.
  16. I can guarantee he won't look comfortable in the middle of a back 3 here!
  17. Why though? We might as well persevere with Davenport who is our player? If that happens then it's got Kasey Palmer written all over it again.
  18. That's because away tickets only usually come out 2/3 weeks before the fixture!
  19. It says that for every away game online at some stage, there will be plenty available over the phone. Plus, if the 1000 had sold out the club would be crowing about it on every social media platform available.
  20. Portsmouth/Brum & Salford/Leeds confirmed as the TV games if anyone cares.
  21. The players we have signed over the past 12 months? The fact he is an established international? Looking at his past club and current club and taking an educated guess that he will be on more money than our highest earner? The fact that he would be told that he would have to get past the likes of Bennett, Smallwood, Evans, Williams or Mulgrew to get a place in the side? The other clubs he appears to be linked with?
  22. Unfortunately, even Paddy McNair is a fantasy land signing nowadays.
  23. I'd hope we don't see either in a Rovers shirt again personally.
