Just on the McGuire thing, I genuinely can't believe that there are still people out there that think the transfer didn't go ahead because somebody forgot to press send.

This time last season we were 10 points above the bottom 3, this season currently we are 16 above. Now, I'm sure we will be able to pick up points through organisation alone this season, but under this ownership I wouldn't rule anything out yet considering we won't strengthen where needed and have no regular goalscorers in the side.

Preston signed Lewis Gibson from Plymouth, really good left sided center back that can also play left back. Thought he would be ideal for us seeing as its one of the positions we are desperate for, but guessing we can't (won't) even compete with them on transfer fees now.

You're getting confused somewhere. His first serious injury was in December 2020, a long time before he signed this new deal. He signed this deal in March 2023 where he was a regular in the side or at least the squad, he did miss 5 or 6 games around this period with a small injury though. I suppose it's possible that he might have signed a new deal at some point during his first injury, but that wasn't what we were discussing.

If we are active it will be towards the end of the month, we aren't proactive unless it's getting someone out the other way. A bit more concerning for me is that Eustace, Brittain, Hyam, Batth, Tronstad, Travis, Dolan, Hedges, Siggurdsson, Weimann contracts all due to expire in the next 18 months, plus our 3 loans going back this summer.
