  1. Only a couple of times on TV, and Batty a couple of times live. Very little in it from the games I have personally seen. But the fact that one has been out and played football for a year, and has gotten a permanent move on the back of it, and one is still stuck playing under 21 football tells me that Gent has currently overtaken Batty. Why are you constantly arguing it the facts are right there?! Batty might go on to be a better player and have a better career I don't know, but at this point you can't dispute that Gents career seems to be going in a better direction than Battys.
  2. Gent has had a full season playing professional first team games, although at an average level. Now he's moving to a league one club to play more regular games Batty has played 2 professional games in his career so far, and looked poor in both. He will probably still be around here playing u21 football next season. Therfore Gent has overtaken Batty in professional football at this point.
  3. Pretty obvious that Gent has overtaken Batty in the past 12 months though, just by going out and playing men's football for a year.
  4. He said a great loan for him, not for us.
  5. Elliot still saying both in his article today.
  6. Out of contract next summer, if we had anything about us we would be getting that extended before allowing him out on loan, he'll be on an academy wage at best.
  7. Winger I would say. Gent has played all pre season as a left winger.
  8. Absolute no brainer to get him on a years deal with an option for me, can't be going into the new season without any championship experience up top. I dunno why though I just have a feeling that it won't happen.
  9. Strange thing to make up so who knows, but until someone more credible mentions it I'm calling bollocks on it.
  10. Who said it on twitter? Then we can decide if it's credible or not.
  11. Szmodicz will be going to Ipswich, to even suggest a rumour that he isn't keen to go there is completely ridiculous.
  12. One of them would be fine, don't see the need for both though. A younger left footed option would be my preference like the lad from Hull, along with one of the experienced guys.
  13. If there's competition for him, he won't be coming here.
  14. Not expecting any to be honest. And even if we do, I won't believe it until I see them on the pitch. And even then, I won't really believe it unless they play a few games and we're not pulled up for playing an ineligible player.
  15. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2024/july/30/sky-selections-announced/ Fixture changes until January 4th. Seems we have gotten off pretty lightly.
  16. Ayari is going to Sunderland regardless of this I think.
  17. "Blocking pathways" is the new nonsense in phase that everyone at Rovers now uses to justify cost cutting, signing nobody and using academy players. If the academy players are genuinely good enough they will get to the first team regardless.
  18. Agreed, but there is very little chance we would be able to pull that off.
  19. If we could somehow move out Hyam and bring that left footed center half from Hull we were linked with and James Hill back on loan I feel our center halves would be sorted.
  20. I've always thought that nothing can be announced until it's confirmed that Szmodics and now Gallagher leave. Suppose we'll see today as surely if there were medicals etc yesterday and yet nothing is announced today then something is up.
  21. Lots more bluster and talk by the looks of things, yet nobody signed and nothing over the line. 10 days until kick off with Jack Vale leading the line.
  22. Siggy with another "groin strain" too. That will be him out for a while, he just doesn't fancy it IMO.
  23. I feel like Baker, Gueye and Dembele are absolute pie in the sky links. Just not going to happen.
  24. There's a reason people are complaining about selling him, and it's not much to do with his ability. You get this, right?
